OO Programming / Course Notes
« on: August 21, 2012, 10:11:09 PM »
Hello, all.

I'll update this post with course notes as and when I write them. They'll link to a PDF held on my Google account - this was the easiest way to do things, given the large amounts of code/images I need to give.

1. Introduction to basic Java and Netbeans: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B2IUayB6YLFaX1Q3YmNOc1VONGM
2. Java Basics: Variables, Methods, Modifiers: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B2IUayB6YLFaTWg4aUxqUG1ubFU
3. Java Basics: Repetition: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B2IUayB6YLFabWE3czdWTnNZekE

OO Programming / Information, Introductions, Etc.
« on: August 12, 2012, 01:17:01 AM »
Hello, kids.

You'll get information on assessment, etc, in due time. For now, if you don't have an IDE or compiler compatible with Java, you can keep yourselves busy with downloading Netbeans and all the Java gear you'll need (the instructions are pretty self-explanatory so I'm sure you'll all be fine).

Other than that, you probably all know each other but I don't know you. I'm new to these parts, and mostly here for reasons relating to this course. So who are we all? I'm Liz, a third-year Computer Science student who enjoys building small robots and writing trashy novels. Java's my first language, so I'm pretty confident in using it to teach the object-orientated philosophy.

So for now, introductions. Detailed course information and assessment information coming up!

I offered Jubal my services for the Exilian Academy, and I figured it'd be rude not to introduce myself. I'm Liz, and I'm in my third year of a degree in Artificial Intelligence. When I'm not playing with robots or living in the library, I like reading spy novels and programming text-based adventure games.
I'm even less interesting than I sound, I promise you. So don't get your hopes up.
