I think there is a Rome one as well.

Ceaser 3 I believe. Still got that lying around. If I remember rightly the main annoyance I had with that was people weren't willing to commute to work, so I had huge houses with huge unemployment and then loads of vaccancies claiming they couldn't find workers! Think they fixed that in Pharaoh, played it once and for some reason it wouldn't accept that I'd beautified the city enough despite practically filling it with decorations. Ah the good old days.

I don't get it?

Just amusing politician names! Much like one of the new government whips: Lady Garden

On another topic, Sweden have upheld their arrest warrant for Assange.

The way I see it, if he's innocent then why doesn't he defend himself against the allegations? I highly doubt they're fabricated as I see some people suggesting. By hiding from the law I feel like he increases suspicion.

The acts those people committed were despicable, but the actions of a few are not the blame of everyone in a particular area. The Israeli forces don't seem to care about whether they bomb UN schools or cause huge amounts of civilian deaths in their pursuit of wiping out an insurgent group. Both sides have committed atrocities, but I disagree with your definition of measured force.

I know this comes across as hypocritical, but I get annoyed that people seem to care more about this shirt than the fact that he was part of the team that LANDED A PROBE ON A COMET!

As for the shirt, I don't think it was appropriate for a press conference, but ultimately what he wears is his choice and he was trying to do his friend a favour by getting her work some exposure, imagine if you'd made something for a friend and they wore it for what's probably going to be the most media attention they'll ever get. Does it show astrophysics as a mens club? Personally I don't think so.

Does anyone know how they came up with these numbers? After all, you can't just ask someone if they're keeping slaves!

Not sure really, it developed this problem a couple of years back, sometimes it just locks up for no good reason, it usually passes after a day or so though so no biggie. Taekwon-do stuff, we've got a small inter-club competition happening in December where some of us senior grades are going to do some demonstration stuff rather than competing with each other because there's only about 5 of us. Clubs are just different groups, I think they're part of the same big family so it should be fairly simple to move but with our lot you never know, splits within splits within splits.

Don't exercise people, it hurts.

Sadly it does, I've buggered up something in my left leg these past few years, usually it's okay but if I don't stretch down properly it flares up. We've got a competition/demonstration coming up in December so I need to keep up to scratch for that! And I want to be at my best for when I have to move clubs when I go down to Norwich for (hopefully) the next few years!

Professor Anne Glover of Aberdeen university held the post of chief scientific advisor and has taken stances that are politically controversial, but scientifically agreed upon. So what does the new EU president do? Fire her. This seems to be far too common and it's no wonder some scientists are hesitant to engage with politicians and the public.

Well the ESA have managed to land on a comet, with a harpoon. No idea if it'll end up being worthwhile, but hey, pretty cool.

Moderation note: I moved this post from "Space yays" to this more specific thread; apologies if this has confused anyone.

I haven't seen any previews for the Christmas special? Just the series finale.

It was tacked onto the end of the program when broadcast here, I assume you're getting over the internet somehow so it may not have been there.

Well I for one quite enjoyed it. Though they seem to be unwilling to let Clara go.

Christmas specials always annoy me, but this one looks like it'll be really annoying.
