Welcome to the Third Exilian Mafia.
Day One

The quiet village of Altor is changing. Whispers and rumours of murderers amongst the villagers have spread unrest in the village. But is there truth in these rumours? And are the murders organised or are they the result of petty disagreements?

Procedures/Rules
Shamelessly ripped from assorted people

If you break one of these rules, you will be either warned, replaced, or modkilled, depending on which rule it is and the severity.

The game will follow the usual day-night sequence of all Mafia games, with lynchings taking place during the day.

1.Any player that doesn't post for three days in a row will be removed from the game or replaced.
2.Dead players do not speak. Giving away any information after death will not be tolerated.
3.Roles and numbers of each side will not be revealed.
4.Be bold with voting. A vote that isn't in bold won't be counted.
5.Lynches require a majority of votes. Once a player has reached the majority, his/her pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be ignored. You may also vote for no lynch.
6. NO EDITING YOUR POSTS. Edit and die. No second chances.
7.Do not post often during the night. A little small talk is allowed to keep the thread bumped, but keep night posting to a minimum. Do not reveal any important game information.
8.Once your death scene has been posted, stop posting. You can make a farewell post or two, but no discussion of the game.
9.Do not quote anything I say outside of the thread. This includes your role emails when you are claiming. Paraphrase please.
10.No communication with other players outside this thread unless I say it is permitted. This excludes mafia.

The villagers went to bed, not knowing what to expect to find in the morning. They all locked their doors, and curled up in their beds. As midnight approached, there was a crashing sound from the east of town, as Dripping D's door was smashed to pieces. A shadowy figure came through the newly-made entrance, and went up the stairs. the door to Dripping D's bedroom met the same fate as his front door. He looked up, horrified, and screamed out "You?! Why?!". His cries were cut short as the man drew a gun from his dark coat, and fired. As he turned to leave, Dripping D called after him, "You aren't going to get away you know!", and whipped out a gun of his own. Before Dripping could move, however, the figure calmly fired the rest of his clip into Dripping D's wounded form, and only left when he was sure that the job was done.

As dawn broke, the wreckage in the house was there for all to see. As the shocked villagers went into the house and climbed into Dripping D's bedroom, they saw a bloodstained mess, and could just about make out his face. They found a gun beside him, with one bullet in.


Dripping D has been killed.
He was a one-shot vigilante on the side of the town.

It is now Day 2. There are five players alive, so it will take three votes to lynch.

Since CN2's Mafia has died, I have decided to host a new game. Hopefully it will be more successful than the last. There will be no limit on signups, the more the better, but obviously we will need to reach the minimum required for the game to go ahead.

Mount and Blade Discussion - Sargoth Town Square / Beating Khergits?

How is it done? Archers get cut down. Cavalry (except Swadian Knights) get shot into oblivion quickly. Infantry get cut down.

Their armies are near impossible to escape from on the world map as well. I have a party of 28 experienced warriors, and am stuck in Khergit lands with 3 of their remaining 4 armies hot on my heels. They are travelling faster than I can, and when they catch me I will stand no chance in the battle. Whenever I stray into their lands, I am waylaid. Their armies always seem to be in exactly the place I need to be.

Also, as a less important question, when your forces have been "utterly crushed" (I only just lost the battle I'm going to refer to, the enemy (Vaegirs) had ~76 men and I had 45, it finished with the enemy having ~5 horsemen left) and you end up in Nord territories, surrounded by Sea Raiders, little money, your best weapons taken and no companions or horse, what is the easiest way to build back quickly into a fit state to get back to a safe place?

Right, so I want to buy one of these games for my 360. Which should I buy, Fallout 3 or Oblivion? Both look very good, and a lot of people are pestering me saying that Fallout 3 is the best game they have played in a long time.

Total War Mods - The Engineer's Shed / Celtic Hordes

Celtic Hordes is a mod for Barbarian Invasion which allows the Celts to form a horde. The idea came from a post on TWH, where someone said that the Celts should be able to form a horde. From there on, the mod quickly took shape, and was released soon after. I mainly did it to take a quick break from Britannia BC, which I then ended up doing hardly any work on for ages.

In the future, I intend to add more units to the Celts, both horde and non-horde. For example currently I have added Ireland as an AoR, to try making one before I need to make them in Britannia BC. Basically, this mod is what I will use to try things out that I may end up including in Britannia BC, to make sure that I can get them to work, and to learn how to do certain things, like make the damned campaign map work.

Features:
  • New region, Wales, and settlement, Deva (now Chester).
       
  • New region, Northern Ireland, and settlement, Cruacou.
       
  • Celts have the ability to form a horde when reduced to one settlement.
       
  • Horde Transport Ships so that the Celtic Horde has a means of getting off the British Isles. However, these ships are very weak in battle and will need an escort if travelling through dangerous or hostile waters.
       
  • New UI cards for Celtic horde units.
       
  • Provincial Campaign allowing Celts to horde from the outset of the game, by giving them only one starting settlement.

Discussion and Debate - The Philosopher's Plaza / Religious Alignment

Well this was the topic of one of my General RE lessons at college. I go to a Catholic college and so 50mins of RE each week is compulsory, however it is mainly just debating. In class this week we had to go and sit underneath one of three banners, each on a different wall.

We had to choose between THEIST (belief that one (or more) God(s) exist, AGNOSTIC (unsure about existence of a God or Gods) or ATHEIST (believe that there is no God).

I sat under atheist. We then had to give reasons for our belief and basically ended up debating over why we believe the things we did. Surprisingly for a Christian college, the Theists were the minority. Anywho, the lesson ended before I could really finish my point completely.

We had got onto contradictions in the Bible, and then evolution etc. Basically debated all things religious. And someone said "There is no evidence for evolution." And I actually lol'd. That sparked what was verging on an arguement. Discuss this statement.

Also, my teacher who is Christian and prays to God then went on to say that she believes that God will not intervene with the lives of humans, and then prays to him for help. And if that isn't a contradiction then what is?

I thought this was an interesting debate in the class, and came to see what you guys thought of it, and give your views.
