I think it's looking good!

Things that I have seen being discussed:
Spoiler
  • This appears to canonise the Ciri is a Witcher ending for TW3. This seems narratively sensible and fine to me, though I guess they could thread the needle if they wanted to and have alternate starts where she goes from Empress or lost in the Frost to being back and a Witcher.
  • A lot of people are fretting about her drinking a potion, implying that she became a Witcher in the proper sense. I think this is misplaced: a) we don't know that her potions in the trailer are conventional Witcher potions and b) he physiology is basically unique and easy to hand-wave.
  • Tonally it's clearly leaning into classic Witcher 3 style.
  • New voice actress and new engine make for something of a shift but I think she comes across well.
  • I'll be interested to see how Ciri is portrayed as a primary character: we got sections of her in TW3 but almost all in "main quest" mode, whereas sidequesting with her is going to be interesting.

But generally, eee, this looks very much the Witcher we know and love. TW4 was always going to be a difficult wicket after TW3, and I don't know that one should expect them to quite nail the richness of that game again, but I'm feeling positive about the trailer and it's nice to have Ciri confirmed as the protagonist.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...
