Nicomedian Terrifying War 202 BC

The Nicomedians are a race of mysterious humanoid beings who have long claimed the role of galactic "centrists". They are famous for their yellowish skin, bright-colored eyes with narrow pupils, the absence of a nose (instead of it, only three nostrils) and ears, penchant for psi abilities, and the ability to do several things at once. They usually speak quickly, and their names are the longest in the universe.
For example, the current ruler of Nicomedia is called Ankrutana-Rakatanasin, and this is only the first part of his Main Name.

The Nicomedians own only a few star systems and, as of 2596 AD, are not colonizing the galaxy. Nicomedia reject any military craft. At this stage (in the 26th century) they have no army and navy. Only the Law Enforcement Forces, which are divided into space and ground, have the right to possess weapons. The ships are armed with only EMP warheads and cyber projectiles that disable enemy equipment if necessary. Ground fighters of the SOP are only allowed to wear stunners that do not cause much harm to living beings. Nicomedia abandoned the army and navy after the Terrifying War of 202 BC (Earth time), which almost destroyed their civilization. Some races, such as the Unn-Chorr, do not understand the Nicomedes. In their opinion, these mysterious yellow-skinned creatures expose themselves to great danger. After all, the lack of combat-ready forces can lead to fatal consequences. But no matter how the Nicomedeans are persuaded to return to their former craft by all kinds of radicals, they flatly refuse. The Vithyn'Exotrorchs (supreme rulers) of Nicomedia outlawed the carrying of military weapons on all worlds under their control. Nobody and nothing has the right to wear that which causes pain and death. Information about the Terrifying War is still kept in the archives of Nicomedia. The ideas of peace and harmony are still being taught in Nik'schols (educational institutions). The Nicomedes are dependent on the Galactic United Races Coalition. Without the will of the Coalition, they can do nothing.
After the outbreak of the Acheronian Galactic War in 2593, Empress of Farrukh Yuai Ang, King of Elfurr Senukhsert, High Ruler Founel from Kinos race,  Draconian First Councillor Ser'Navuhu'drakara, Coalition Grandmaster Rathmir Derkh, and Vythyn'Exotrorkh Ankrutana'rakatanasin entered into a new treaty of Temporal Protection. Nicomedia allowed their allies to deploy a couple of fleets within the border systems. This was done in order to secure trade routes and approaches to the main system from the fleets of the Acheronian League, which are showing great activity.
But why did it happen? And for what reason has Nicomedia not had its own army for 2000 years?

---

The Nicomedia civilization has been in existence for over 25,000 years.
But the Terrifying War in Nicomedia is not forgotten by either children, or mature, or old people. This event also bears another name - the Great Tragedy of the Universe. In 202 BC. according to the reckoning of the earthlings, the Nicomedia Vithin'Exotrorh Anchuvank-Panukaratingan was overthrown by a group of militarists led by General Kachaporit. The military immediately proclaimed a new republic of Bithyn, putting an end to a whole dynasty of former rulers. Kachaporit began to spread the doctrine of the chosenness of the Nicomedia race. For half a year of power, he managed to publish up to 150 books about the superiority of his own civilization over other races. The general claimed that even before the coup, mysterious deities appeared to him in a dream, known as X-Shangaara, the Planet Builders. According to Kachaporit, the Planet Builders gave him a lot of knowledge about the Chosenness of the Nikomedians and ancient greatness. Many associates supported the general, who became the Supreme Leader of the New Republic of Whithin. The books were distributed to all controlled planets in a matter of months. Inspired by the ideas of Supremacy, the Nicomedians began to behave more aggressively and arrogantly towards other civilizations. Kachaporit, using the knowledge of the mysterious "gods", searched the galaxy for many sources of technology from the long-extinct race of Sovilars. His research teams were engaged in the improvement of the fleet and military equipment. They also managed to raise the ancient devices of another extinct Kassite race, called the Idols of Retribution, to their feet. These huge walking machines reached 200 meters and could fit entire shelves. With such an army, Kachaporit intended to conquer the universe and create an indestructible empire.

First of all, the usurper set his sights on a small human state called Ellan-Milorana. It was located near the Nicomedia dominions in the galactic east. The local king Hippolytus III criticized his neighbors with might and main and talked about their incredible racism. In one of his speeches, Hippolytus seriously insulted the Nicomedia ruler, calling him a "monstrous despot" and a "hated provocateur." Taking advantage of the chance, Kachaporit demanded an apology from the king of Ellan-Milorana. He declared that such expressions ran the risk of causing dissension between the people and the Nicomedes. Hippolyte refused to apologize and urged the general to "immediately shut up." Then Kachaporit did not stand on ceremony with the opponent and ordered to activate one of the devices of the Sovilars. On his direct orders, a missile with an Utgartr warhead was secretly launched at Ellan-Milorana. A powerful explosion completely destroyed the planet with the entire population. Hippolyte and his tribesmen perished in the fire. After the death of the king, a civil war broke out in the state over the inheritance. None of the people could find out where the rocket was fired from. Some suspected the Nicomedians of this. However, Kachaporit immediately began to deny that he was responsible for the destruction of the entire planet. He denied the accusations and declared that the Nicomedeans would never have used such a weapon in their lives. An unknown attack immediately attracted the attention of representatives of other civilizations. Elfurr was especially interested in the tragedy. Their embassy went to the possessions of Ellan-Milorana, where a provisional government had already been formed. The new Tsar Natalius IV, chosen by the military leaders, claimed that they had not been able to identify the culprit of such massive destruction. Elfurr asked people to provide them with recordings of the explosion. After all, the space stations and satellites plying around the destroyed capital world could provide at least some evidence. Elfurrian experts carefully studied all the data received, but they did not succeed in uncovering the culprit. It was clear from the recordings that the rocket appeared suddenly. At first, she teleported from obscurity, and only then struck at the main planet of Ellan-Milorana.

Kachaporit, on the other hand, rejoiced that he had managed to invisibly destroy an entire planet. However, he was alarmed by the intervention of the Elfurr Star Empire. He was very afraid that they would reveal his plans. And so the usurper decided to act quickly. Delay in his case was simply impossible. By his order, several more missiles with powerful warheads were activated. Among them was the Black Hole Generator device, which had previously been discovered by the Nicomedia in one of the abandoned asteroid bases. Five warheads headed for the key worlds that the general intended to end. However, the weapons were still quite unstable, and the programming of these devices had not yet been completed. Kachaporit hurried his cyber experts, threatening them with the death penalty. A hastily designed operation went to waste immediately after the launch of the missiles. The warheads exploded in space before reaching their cherished targets. The explosion of one of the rockets led to the immediate appearance of a black hole. The tragedy happened in the Elfurr sector of Joserkar. One of the Elfurr Dreadnoughts flew by not far from the crater. The ship was immediately pulled into a dark abyss along with the entire crew. The black hole soon slammed shut, but there was no trace left of the ship. The queen of all queens, Hatshepsit IV, who headed the Empire at that time, quickly brought the issue of launched warheads to the Grand Council. Kachaporit was on the verge of insanity when he learned that none of the missiles had reached their targets. He ordered the execution of up to five thousand scientists working on secret projects. However, no one knew about his plans. The fired shells failed to reveal Kachaporit. Elfurr and their allies were still wrestling with their thoughts and trying to identify the mysterious enemy. Hatshepsit IV guessed that the fault might lie with Nicomedia, but still preferred not to discuss this with the generals. She organized a secret group of agents who were immediately sent to the possessions of Kachaporit. They were supposed to live as simple mechanics on the Nicomedia planets and join the local culture. But each of their actions they carefully voiced in front of the queen. The Elfurrian ruler knew everything that happened to her agents. Soon the spies found out about the mysterious factories of Kachaporita, where the tyrant developed an unknown weapon. They managed to track them down and pass on all the information to Hatshepsit.

Three months later, the High Queen of Elfurr received all the evidence of the direct guilt of the Nikomedians. The agents sent her data and materials that clearly indicated the development of weapons based on Sovilar technology. Hatshepsit sent information to the realm of Ellan-Milorana. Natalius IV immediately stopped the war with his commanders and announced a temporary truce. The Ellans gathered the General Council, at which Elfurr presented the information of the spies. The people and their allies were furious. Information about the development of Kachaporite was immediately made public on every planet of Ellan-Milorana. Information reached even the Artandir Empire. Emperor Ilia Asvaram II the Pious sent an official protest to Nicomedia. After all, one of the missiles fired almost reached the capital of Artandir. Billions of living beings could have died. Kachaporit again denied all accusations against him. He declared that the enemies provoke the Nicomedans to war with false information. It was a great excuse to start a war. The usurper in a hurry gathered all the armadas and ordered the naval commanders to strike at Ellan-Milorana from all sides. The Nicomedes quickly blockaded the planets of the kingdom. Kachaporit managed to storm the main citadel of Natalius IV. As a result of a bloody battle, all human troops were utterly defeated. The Elan ruler was captured, where he was immediately stabbed to death. In a matter of weeks, Nicomedia took possession of the whole state. The treacherous capture of Ellan-Milorana caused even greater aggression from the surrounding civilizations. Three powerful empires immediately declared war on Kachaporit. Artandir Emperor Ilia II sent four battle armadas to the battle. Hatshepsit IV sent up to 20 large fleets to Nicomedia. Draconids also joined the alliance of civilizations. The huge united armada did not liberate Ellan-Milorana and quickly relocated to Nicomedia, the main capital of Kachaporit. The Tyrant was forced to send a fleet to his home worlds. Hatshepsit IV issued an ultimatum to the dictator, according to which he had to leave his post and immediately stop all secret developments. Kachaporit replied that he would not contradict the will of the Gods, "guiding his mind and body." Elfurr were forced to break off negotiations with the Nicomedeans. Despite the fact that the Artandirs and the Draconians insisted on continuing the dialogue, Hatshepsit fired five nuclear warheads into the Nicomedia armada. The most powerful explosions immediately destroyed up to 500 enemy ships. The Nicomedia admirals recommended Kachaporit to negotiate with the united alliance. They feared for the lives of ordinary Nicomedians. Elfurr after all could easily destroy an entire race because of a banal verbal insult.

Despite all the warnings of his comrades-in-arms, Kachaporit led his armada towards the Elfurr fleet. Up to 10,000 powerful ships clashed in the battle, many of which were heavy dreadnoughts. The Nicomedia battle ended sadly for the usurper and tyrant. Kachaporite was destroyed on her flagship by a direct hit from an Elfurr torpedo. After the death of the head of the republic, all the Nicomedia admirals withdrew their ships. Former associates of Kachaporit gathered the Military Council, at which they intended to resolve the conflict peacefully. Ordinary Nicomedes have long been tired of the power of the tyrant and his accomplices. No one wanted to continue the bloodshed. The admirals sent a delegation of 18 ambassadors to Queen Hatshepsit. The messengers were received by the ruler of Elfurr and taken to the reception room. The delegates had to kneel before Hatshepsit and beg for her forgiveness. The queen replied that she would show mercy to the Nicomedia only if all the admirals of the deceased Kachaporit came to her personally and fell down in the same way. The ambassadors conveyed the tsarina's answer to the naval commanders. The admirals agreed to come to the Elfurr ship. Soon they also appeared before Hatshepsit, asking for forgiveness for the actions of their former commander and kissing her sandals. The queen declared that she accepted the apology of the Nikomedes. After these words, she personally finished off all the admirals along with 18 ambassadors. Thus, Nicomedia was left without a high command of the fleet. Hatshepsit ordered the bodies of the Nicomedia delegation to be thrown into outer space through a garbage lock. With this, she intended to prove the greatness of the Elfurr Empire to all her allies and enemies. Then the queen ordered the flotilla under her control to destroy the Nicomedians. She stated that all Kachaporit's accomplices must pay for their deeds. According to her plan, the ships were to open fire on the capital planet of Nicomedia and destroy all the continents. The resulting cataclysms would have led to the death of all the Nicomedes. She then wished to poison the atmosphere of all surrounding worlds belonging to her enemies. Artandir Emperor Ilia II, having learned about the decision of Hatshepsit, immediately hurried on board. The Draconids, on the other hand, completely abandoned the alliance with Elfurr. The queen's allies threatened her with a rupture of all diplomatic relations. Arriving on the ship to Hatshepsit, Ilia II begged her to abandon the solution to the genocide of the Nicomedes. But the Elfurrian ruler was adamant. She even threatened the Emperor of Artandir with death. Furious, Ilia II rudely insulted Hatshepsit, calling her a "soulless killer." The emperor then announced his refusal to act in concert with Elfurr.

However, during the conversation, Elijah began to notice strange changes in the Elfurr queen. The Emperor had known her for quite some time, but in the last moments of heated conversation, he discovered that her eyes were not Elfurrian at all. Usually representatives of this race did not have narrow pupils. Elijah did not hesitate, and drawing a pistol, he simply shot at Hatshepsit. When the queen fell dead, all Elfurr were horrified to discover that it was not the body of their sovereign. On the deck lay the Nicomedian Kachaporit. As it turned out, the one that was killed in the space battle was a clone of the true usurper. Kachaporit, on the other hand, entered the ship to the Elfurr queen in advance and took on her appearance. He imprisoned Hatshepsit herself in the Pendant of Eternity (a stasis device that worked on the science of the Sovilars). He safely hid the pendant in the hold of the ship. Within an hour after the destruction of the main enemy, Elfurr discovered a mysterious device in which their queen was imprisoned. The freed Hatshepsit gave a new flotilla order to leave the Nicomedia systems. The Draconids, Elfurr and the Artandirs left the domain of the Nicomedes. The war has come to an end. The civilians, once under the rule of the despot, breathed a sigh of relief. A month after the confrontation, the new Nicomedia government chose its Bithyn'Exotrorch. It turned out to be former Minister of the Interior Chaka'Ranakaarmadilloa, a devoted supporter of alliances with other races. The new ruler formally apologized to Hatshepsit on behalf of the Nicomedians. Then he completely banned armed forces on the territory of the state. The army and navy were quickly disbanded. Many prominent officers and naval commanders went to serve in the elite police units, which soon became the Enforcement Forces. And so the history of the new Nicomedia began, as a peaceful civilization that forever refused to wage wars. This brought thousands of years of peace and tranquility to the Nicomedeans.

Until the start of a new bloody galactic war in 2593... But that's a completely different story.

---

After the Terrifying War, the name of Kachaporit was forbidden to be mentioned in Nicomedia. No one has called their child by that name since then. The name 'Kachaporit' symbolized merciless evil, all-destroying and all-damaging, and also symbolized weapons, war and death. For the Nikomedians, war has become synonymous with Darkness. Though radical groups believe it was imposed by the Elfurr Empire. Therefore, separate cults of Kachaporit and the so-called "Nicomedian centrism" still exist.
Also in Nicomedia, the names Alayala and Kuakhtemok are considered forbidden. These two Nicomedia rulers nearly brought their race to ruin. Alaial, for example, about 10-12 thousand years BC. tried to unleash a galactic war with the Draconids. And Kuakhtemok, bowing before the ancient Eternal Evil (Shadow from the Ancient Days), began to destroy his own tribesmen. This happened even earlier, about 20,000 years before our era. In Nicomedia, these names are on a special Forbidden List. Their mention threatens with prison, censure of society or even expulsion from the territory of the state.
There are other forbidden names in that list, for example, the commanders of Kachaporit, Alayal, or the same Kuakhtemok. In present-day Nicomedia, they are very sensitive to their history.

Nicomedian centrism led this race to fall

Any imperial aspirations and ambitions always have a harmful effect. The example of Kachaporit was clear to the entire galaxy. The arrogant mad dictator caused the fall of his ancient civilization. Subsequently, Nicomedia was deprived of its army, navy and all weapons. But even this did not stop some of the so-called "centrists". The centrist ideology of Nicomedia continued to exist in separate circles.
For the period of the 26th century AD, Nicomedia centrism is more like a "white crow". But still there are some radicals who dream of the former greatness of Nicomedia. Such radicals are usually persecuted in the new society. Because they are associated with murder and violence. The new "Against Arms" doctrine has long been accepted by 90% of the Nicomedians. And the current Bithyn-exotrorch Ankru the Wise (Ankrutana-Rakatanasin) willingly adheres to these very rules.
No war. No violence.

What is Alayal conflict

It is known that for the period of the 26th century AD. Nicomedia has neither an army nor a navy. It is believed that this was due to the Terrible War of the late 3rd century BC. according to earthly reckoning, when the crazy Nicomedia dictator Kachaporit decided to play god and invaded the surrounding galactic powers. After the defeat of his fleet and army, the tyrant himself died, and his race became almost directly controlled by other civilizations. It's all because Nicomedia opened up access to truly destructive weapons, which were excessive even by the standards of Elfurr, and they are famous for their technology.
True, Nicomedia was known as an aggressive and expansionist power long before the Terrifying War. Almost all the time, the galactic annals mention attempts by the Nicomedans to conquer all the surrounding interstellar kingdoms, plant their ideology and proclaim their race as the Chosen One.
For millennia BC, Nicomedia was already considered an aggressive civilization. And that's what happened then....
The thousand-day conflict occurred in 12,000 BC and continued until about 11,980 of the same era. In those days, the galaxy almost ceased to exist. Almost every race found itself embroiled in a brutal war.
War, which was initiated by the cruel Nicomedian dictator Alayal. Legends saying, that Alayal tried to capture the whole galaxy with his army and imperial ambitions. But the galaxy states punished him, and Elfurr army in the end of war completely defeated forces of Nikomedia.
As for Alayal, wizards said, he was destroyed by the Elfurr sorcerers group. Because he was too dangerous for galaxy. He always threated all races by his weapons and military power. And he was punished in the end.
