StoryDragon:
A thread for my poems!
The Eyes of the Universe

The eyes of the universe
Look down towards earth.
And while you fiercely curse
Your network, (that's fast as snails,)
I search the western sky;
Where I spot, up high,

The beauteous orbs of sight.
One of which, being very bright,
Is proudly provided by
The goddess of fertility.
The other astral eye
Comes from another mighty

God, of space and thunder.
I stare into the eyes,
When I start to wonder
What the face would look like.
I cannot see the kind of smile
That's on it all the while.

Indeed, no more can be seen
Than the eyes at all.
Has there ever been
A face? Or is all
There ever was

These two single eyes?
They disappear.
And now they reappear,
The imaginary
Head tilted to
One of their sides.

What is going on?
Is it interesting?
Following the space's
Gaze, I see someone wrestling
With reality. It looks bad.
Once again, I start gazing

Upwards, to the eyes
Which now start drifting
Away from each other,
As if they do not bother
To provide the wise
Universe with sight anymore.

Then, does this mean
The eyes of the
Universe are mean?
Making people wrestle
With all the things they've seen?

Now, only a single
Eye of the universe
Is left. Whether that's worse
Or not, remains to be seen.
Let's hope it's not so keen
On terrorizing people
Anymore, now it's alone.

Jubal:
I currently can't read "Eye of the Universe" without my brain running over Outer Wilds stuff - I need to reread this in a few months when our mutual corvid acquaintance has finished playing the game :)

I feel like there must be a term for the particular rhetorical trick of breaking a logical sentence across stanzas but I don't know what it is: you do it really well here, anyway.

I hope you share more sometime!

Tusky:
I really liked this!

Look forward to reading more :)

I wrote another poem!
A Lovely Surprise

Yay!
A lovely surprise!
Finally, when I least
Expect it, on a gray
And rainy day,
This very nice
Little booklet arrived.
And well... Thou seest,
Now I can write
It down, right
Where it belongs,
All my epic ‮.tihs‭

It came all the way
From South-Africa to me.

Jubal:
Lovely!

I assume that's caught our ancient swear filter (which I should have turned off some time ago, but have left on because I'm sort of fond of the silliness of it) and "armadillo" is not actually the last word of verse one :P

And yes, WelshPixie is excellent :)
