Massive Galaxy is a space trading adventure game, a point and click adventure with space trading elements in the mix. Explore, Trade and Fight across several systems.

I'm the only developer, with the help of some freelancers for the game assets.
One of the objectives of this project is to have the looks of old dos graphical adventure games like Space Quest, Maniac Mansion, The Dig and Beneath a steel sky.
The game also draws heavy inspiration from games like Flashback, Elite, Freelancer and FTL.

I will try to update regular updates here, but check twitter or tumblr also

Space Quest is one of my favourite game series of all time, and a bit of an inspiration for the game I'm currently working on - and I love the art style on this stuff :D

How did you get the game so big? Is there any procedural generation, or do you just have a huge amount of content?
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Goncalom

Hi,
there is no procedural generation, but the content is not that massive, but a lot of content is still in the works.

Space quest is a big inspiration, along other games.

I've followed you guys on twitter now anyhow, definitely going to keep following this one :) How "heavy"/grim are you making the setting - Space Quest is quite zany/light hearted, whereas Beneath A Steel Sky is pretty dark?

I like the look of the warp slingshot too, very cinematic - I've been working on a setting for a possible tabletop game that uses a similar concept for getting between star systems.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Goncalom

I would say the setting is between Space Quest and Beneath a Steel Sky.

Some comic elements, but the content/universe is more serious.

All looks good, the bigger title logo definitely works well :) How's the gameplay side of things going?

God I love the look of this. It seems most SciFi related stuff is either "super clean & sterile" or "dirty space truckers", but this is the style that I really love

Yeah, a mid-tone SFF style is often more relatable/engaging than the hyper-clean or grimdark forms I think.
