Also... comparing today's saints: Saint Valentine was killed in Rome, left so little record of his achievements there may have been several of him or none of him, and probably didn't have anything to do with the 14th of February or any particular association with romance. Saints Cyril and Methodius invented an alphabet that's the basis of communication across large parts of Eastern Europe and Central Asia to this day, wrote one of the first true slavic legal codes, and Cyril very probably DID die on the 14th of February. Let's celebrate Cyril and Methodius' day!
