PELAMUSHI
I did some cooking recently!
Ingredients were 70g flour, 30g cornflour, 1tbsp sugar, 500mls badagi (hand-squeezed grape juice, simmered down to half volume to boost sugar content).
Mixed the flour/sugar/cornflour with half the badagi, stirred until smooth, then slowly stirred that mixture into the other half of the badagi in a pan. Then heated and stirred a lot and that was about it - it thickened far faster than the recipe said as I was making half quantity, it was a very quick thing to make in the end (and very tough stirring once it had started to thicken!).
And here's the result, a Georgian pelamushi - it has a very interesting sweet grape-y taste, a slightly thicker/heavier consistency and more structural integrity than a jelly, though quite smooth textured. It's very nice, though I probably won't make them often as this took 2 kilos of grapes to make!

Looks cool, is that popcorn or nuts on top?
Is that like a dessert or snack?

Walnuts - though there are lots of other things you can use there, I've seen hazelnuts and blueberries and various other things used online. It's very definitely a dessert; I found quite a small slice of that thing was ample for a dessert course!

I breeds 'em big
But yeah, I see the resemblance now you mention it! You can get them a much darker purple colour if you have darker grapes, I just used normal red grapes (and a few white) to make the badagi for this.

Dunno, I've forgotten to pack a lunch a few times but I haven't been that hungry yet.

Spend a few years as a postgrad and you'll get there at some point.

Nice job! But is it vegan? Because that's important to me even though I'm never going to come into contact with it.

It is vegan, so when you have a mid-life crisis and stop eating meat and animal products you can ask me for the recipe

Sorry, I'm veganitarian, I'll only eat it if it's made from freshly squeezed vegans.

Well if I go back to the lightside and stop eating animals maybe I will attempt to make pelushi. Until then baby rat brains will suffice.
