Thought I'd do a yay/nay on this.
SO: my idea is as follows:
The Setting
It's a slightly creepy, slightly adorable abandoned house that's being left to gather dust. Basically various toys/other things around the house start waking up and dreaming of - depending on what they are - creation, conquest, etc. This means building more of themselves - so the toy soldiers are searching for tin cans, the soft toys for fabric and needles, etc.
The Gameplay
There would be tile-based room exploration; different rooms would offer different foraging opportunities that would gain players resource cards. These could be "crafted" into item cards that could be played for various effects on exploration, foraging, combat, etc, or into new meeples. Also probably a few different gameplay options with different win conditions.
Current issues
The issue with crafting item cards from resource cards is that it could mean a lot of shuffling through decks to find the item card you just created. This may be fine, but it doesn't seem very neat, so any better mechanic suggestions there would be welcome.
