Yes, the film title was going through my head as I wrote the words. I'm hoping that automobiles will not need to feature in any part of these trips: I don't drive, taxis are expensive, and any other unexpected interaction with a car is likely to be painful.

Advance warning: I may not be around much for the next month or so. After not going anywhere for the first half of the year, I'm about to have three foreign trips in very quick succession:
- Sun 23 to Sat 29 August: a railway meander from Santiago de Compostela to Strasbourg, via Madrid, Barcelona, southern France and hopefully a bit of Italy
- Thu 3 - Mon 7 September: Sardinia, trying to see the bits that were omitted from the tour I went on last October
- Thu 17 - Wed 23 September: another meander, through the Balkans this time, from Kosovo via Macedonia and Thessaloniki to Athens (or that's the intention)
As you might guess, much of my free time when I'm not on holiday will be taken up organising bits of holiday - booking planes, trains and hotels.

« on: August 17, 2015, 01:29:07 PM »A few queries since I don't know the setting (I guess the closest RPG I've played might be Shadowrun)...It's Manchester because that's where the book is set, and in turn that's where Jeff Noon (the author) is from. Though I'm fairly sure that the Manchester in the book is not exactly like the real one, even when the book was written in the early 1990s.
- Why Manchester? Does the specific city make a lot of difference?
I can see I'm going to have to dig out my copy of Vurt and re-read it...

I like this; some more about the life and adventures of Tammin would be welcome, if they come to mind. And though you might not have told this aloud, I think I can "hear" it as I read it; the pacing and phrasing seem good for this.

Welcome to Exilian, Registered. I wasn't a member when this thread started, but I think it's a pretty good bet that if work ever did start on an app, it only got as far as someone's hard drive. If you want to have a go now, I think we'd be interested, at least as an intellectual exercise. You might like to bear in mind that all the points from Jubal's post still apply. Also, I don't want to discourage you, but from my own experience I would say that the site runs quite adequately on a smartphone web browser, so I'm not sure that an app would have much take-up.
