MURDER ON THE ABYSSINIAOkay, here goes.
The fluff:
Spoiler
The year is 1871. A small steam-ship, the
Abyssinia, is chugging through the Aegean sea. Various British notables aboard have been visiting historic sites around the islands of Lesbos and Lemnos, and as the summer ends the ship begins its way home. But all is not well.
On September the Ninth, a young member of the crew shouts for help. The passengers bundle into the room, to see a devastating sight; the collector of antiquities Sir John Derrington, who had been visiting the island with his nephew Samuel, is dead on the floor. Stabbed repeatedly, his body lies prone in a pool of blood. Not only that, but on inspection the ship's engines have been jammed and broken.
"Hunting down the murderer - or murderers - will not be easy," mutters the captain. The passengers begin to look at one another with suspicion. One young lady heads off to evacuate her stomach, and eventually others begin to leave.
"But say," says the crewman. "Don't we have that detective chap on board who could help?"
"You called?" A tall figure appears in the doorway, along with a short companion clutching a medic's bag.
"Ah, yes, now what's your name again sir?"
Ignoring the captain, the tall man descends the stairs.
"There's been more than one murderer here, I see. And they were searching for an item of some sort. Something of value."
"But however do you know?" The doctor at his side looks puzzled, but also looks used to being puzzled.
"A knife wound in the front, but note also the slight blueness around the lips. He was dead before the knife entered him, possibly strangulation. But not too long before, mind. And his papers have been rifled through; note from the way he uses different coloured papers he was a very methodical man, and so his desk being a mess is wholly out of character. Furthermore, the empty safe open there has a mark on the wall next to it. I think whatever gem this was had been moved, and our thief slammed the safe door into the cabin wall in frustration."
"Well," said the captain. "I only hope that we can all catch the perpetrator."
The tall man began to leave the room. "I shall endeavour to investigate."
"I've no idea how he does it," whispered the doctor to the captain, "but he can."
The tall man turned around.
"Really? Once you know the signs, it all becomes quite clear. Elementary, my dear Watson."

Vote: Player X, preferably in bold and red. Votes in bold OR red but not both will still be counted because I'm a lovely person, but votes without bolding or being in red will not be counted.
- Days and nights will be about 3 days each.
- You may roleclaim at will.
- You may NOT discuss the game outside the thread unless it is SPECIFICALLY allowed in your role.
- Quoting mod PMs causes modkills.
- You will ALL have ability-based roles. There is no such thing as a normal townie on this voyage. Good heavens, no!
- If you're not sure whether you're allowed to do something, ASK ME FIRST.
- This is probably one of the most unpredictable game setups you will ever play, due to the large number of interesting night roles. Simple logic may not be enough.
- As an addition to that, this could be a very long or a very short game, I've no idea. Welcome along for the ride, ladies and gentlemen.
- Finally, speaking in good English is just good cricket, don'tcha know.
ALL ROLES HAVE BEEN SENT OUT. IT IS NOW DAY ONE. SEVEN VOTES ARE REQUIRED TO LYNCH.
So anybody feel like having a jolly old chit-chat, don'cha know?

Well Gentlemen,*puff* my Lady, it appears we have some murders on board.
The question is,*puff* how do we find them?
It's awfully quiet today...
It does seem like an awfully fine day to be taking the air, does it not?
A lovely day indeed my good sir.
MAN OVERBOARD!! Oh wait... that's just a penguin... ICE-BURGS AHEAD!!
"Look at me Jack! I'm Flying Jack!!"
*Ahem* I mean, spiffing and what-what
Ow, hello my friends... Let this journey be fun once again... Let's get the bad-men down
How are you people?
Dear captain, I notice we have a passenger list, but I understand all those aboard go by other names too. It would be awfully handy if we could have a list of those monikers affixed to the brief, that we might know who plays this mortal game, so to swiften the cogitating.
Good evening everyone. :)
Good evening my good man. How has your voyage been so far?
ooc: Wow. This is some of the most awkward RPing I have ever seen.
Anyway, what's up with the complete and total lack of random lynching?

XD Just because you were the only suspicious one I could find. I looked at all of the posts and only found you.
Then you can justify your answer providing some arguments? ::)
On the other hand I say this. Since it's still day 1 I don't know who might be the scum, neither how many they are nor what evil powers they posses.
CG: *stands at the edge of the deck, hands held behind back, looking out at the distant horizon above gentle rolling waves* >That can be strange. (Why he does not speak and he just acts?) On the other hand he can be a thinking detective, maybe.

Phoenixguard: It does seem like an awfully fine day to be taking the air, does it not? > That can also be suspicious. why is the good day today? Maybe for PG's night will be full of action...
Ladyhawk: A lovely day indeed my good sir. > Possibly a mere poor little girl or a bad-fellow of PG.
Mark: MAN OVERBOARD!! Oh wait... that's just a penguin... ICE-BURGS AHEAD!! > That's called kidding, but then again you can be just a happy killer.
Driping D: "Look at me Jack! I'm Flying Jack!!" *Ahem* I mean, spiffing and what-what > Well that's strange but definately does not mean this man is a bad-man. Most possibly he's kidding
Andalus: Dear captain, I notice we have a passenger list, but I understand all those aboard go by other names too. It would be awfully handy if we could have a list of those monikers affixed to the brief, that we might know who plays this mortal game, so to swiften the cogitating. > Just a member asking for definitions IMO...
My own take.
CG: The classic voyage persona. I get the feeling he may in fact have something to hide.
NightAngel: He's a smoker and therefore likely not the killer. The smoke would leave a distinctive smell on the man leading to easy identification.
Double A: Nervous. Perhaps something to hide. And insulting my RP'ing skillz. There's something strange about this one, watch him carefully guys.
PG: A mere innocent question I assure you. Trying to pass the time with my fellow passengers.
LadyHawk: A polite answer from an upstanding lass. I really doubt there is any ulterior motive behind this statement. I realise that this may in fact put suspicion on me as Dimos has already speculated that there is something of an understanding between us. For what it is worth, I give my word that this is not the case.
Mark: Trying to pass the time by breaking up the flawless RP'ing so far.
DD: A Titanic reference. As a matter of course, I suggest DD should be lynched first as bringing up that travesty on board a ship is just asking for bad luck.
Andalus: Undecided as this was simply a message to the captain.

Oh what happy days that reminds me of. *Puff*
Yet can we rely on the wisdom of children.
(OOC: See now, if I vote Mark as well people will think I'm a killer, however if I don't we might not get a kill today)
I'm convinced we'll find nothing out by pointing fingers too soon. This is the first day of the inquiry, and Sir John's blood is barely cold, for goodness' sake!
It is, of course, possible to locate a killer in this manner by sheer luck and guesswork, but guesswork is not how such affairs should be properly conducted. We have no evidence as yet to deduct a suspect, so we should leave rash accusations until further investigations can be made.
Vote: No Lynch
Oh, and my thanks to the captain for fulfilling my former request. Much appreciated.
Vote: No Lynch
Absolutely nothing to go on so far ladies and gentlemen. We should wait to see what tomorrow brings.
I must admit no lynch seems to be the best option. If we knew how many scum there are then guesswork may be to our advantage, but in not knowing it would be a waste in case we lynch an innocent bystander.
So anyways, Vote: No lynch
While I'd hate to create an us-and-them situation, it seems like there is a rather decisive group on the 'No Lynch' vote... Is The Khan someone you're all trying to protect? What does that suggest? I dread to think...
I vote The Khan, and I think I'll be sleeping with my room securely locked tonight, as a young lady should in the first place.

I'm sooo nervous in my forty-somethingeth mafia game. ::)
'Course, being experienced and being good are two completely different things. :P
Anyway, no lynch is an awful idea. Random voting at least has a chance of finding scum, no lynch just makes it easier for the mafia to stay alive. Lynches are the town's most powerful tool, and to waste one is downright criminal. Wait, this game has no vanilla townies. So confused.
vote: CN2 for being third on the no lynch bandwagon?

As others have said, no point in just randomly slaughtering people old chaps. Best to wait until we actually have a lead.

Thats good cus that means that there are 50% people voting for No Lynch.
Surely if I were mafia I wouldn't vote for no lynch?
Well just to make a notion, the Khan was the first one to try and lynch-vote someone...
Does this early reaction mean somthing to the rest of you? I'm confused... He can be either extremely good or extremely bad... But my view is that a mere passenger would not try to get a random lynch too soon... or I am wrong? What do you think, dudes?
It was just a random Lynch... just for fun. Someone had to do it and it was me. ;D
Well I am not actually convienced... But then again you might be right... Who knows ??? ??
Well... you could be evil and consider me good for trying to Lynch you or you could be good and think I'm evil for trying to Lynch you. One way or the other I have no idea and no way to find out if you are good or evil.
Annd that's the end of the day, chaps and chapesses!
NO LYNCH
IT IS NOW NIGHT, UNTIL SATURDAY. PLEASE SEND YOUR NIGHT ACTIONS TO ME BY PM.
Is this fine ship suffering from an eternal night? :P
Thats what I was thinking yesterday. The sun (Jubal) won't come up. :( I guess he is busy. He'll show up soon. I'm sure of it.
I'm only a day late, that's pretty good by my standards. :P
YOU ALL AWAKE
The sun rises, and all but one of the passengers does too.
Evidently something was not elementary for Sherlock Holmes. He is found with a poison designed to induce deep comas laced into his veins, barely alive with several deep wounds in his leg as if some sort of trap had shot it into him. Certainly you won't be able to revive him until you get to port - if you ever do. As you realise the loss of the second greatest deductive mind in the world, a deep gloom settles over the ship.
Sherlock (Andalus), put in a coma by a booby trap, Night One.
IT IS NOW DAY TWO.
Who has the greatest deductive mind in the world then?
Clearly he was on to something for a trap to be sprung, where was he found? or had he moved to that position?

It was far too convicting for that early in the game when no one has any information about anyone, except mafia trying to protect other mafia. Just saying, I could be wrong but it seems suspicious to me.
both ideas sound pretty sound but who really knows...
Hm, yeah they do. But the argument that Double A talks funny doesn't hold that much merit for me. As far as I can tell, that's just how he talks in any thread, what with only being here a short while we wouldn't know. Its not as if his comments are turned against anyone either, they just seem to be random :')
A mafia would want to turn everyone against a townie.

On the three sites I play mafia games on, it's scary if there are no random votes. Very,
very scary. Even in serious games.
Especially in serious games.
Quoteand he voted for CN2 for being the first to propose peace -no lynch- . Possibly if he's scum then he wanted me and the Khan to eat each other like dogs so as he will gloriously murder some people during the night...
Get your facts straight. I voted him for being third on the bandwagon.
A lynch where there's even an 1 in 100 chance of killing a scum is better than a 0 in 10. Lynches are the town's most valuable tool in every game, even ones where there are vigs (which I really hope we have). However, due to the complete lack of vanilla townies in this game, we do need to be careful... but this doesn't mean we need to do a no lynch and nothing else (there was next to no discussion yesterday).
I wish to pass off my post earlier as inexperience my good CN2. I have never gone through a harrowing experience before, only arranged them for others.

Hm, I still don't trust you, and Double A is right, we do need to lynch someone especially after losing our 2nd most valuable player.
So, to add a bit more pressure (And to see if you can mount a convincing defence), Vote: Phoenixguard09
Well, we might just search in the wrong direction, but I think that the tossed speculations might be of some importance.
If someone has knowledge superior to mine, just help us get that/ those scum/s undone. I'll think of who to vote twice. Double A and the inactives are my no1 consern ATM. We need a lynch, that's sure. We need to act quickly... Any proposals? ideas would be most welcome...

I'd like to point out Visorslash that my comment was taken, entirely out of context.
(I was trying to say in character that I haven't played Mafia before, only run it for others.)
Further, CN2 good chap, while you give reasons for what could potentially be seen as a bandwagon vote, which I do not hold against you in any way, shape or form at all my good man, I would like to know what would constitute a convincing defence? I was not aware of doing something wrong. :(
Quite honestly, I am starting to perhaps reconsider my position on Double A. Although his willingness to vote when we have basically nothing to go on is a little disoncerting.
Have a good day chaps and chapette,
That clarifies your strange comment a bit then. I am less suspicious of you now I know what you meant, rather than what it seemed like you meant.
I feel as though Double A is very eager for a lynching, which I guess isn't a bad thing considering we need to do something after losing Sherlock Holmes in the night :( . The only thing is, we need to be careful as we can't risk losing another powerful townie to a rushed lynching.
Having said that, I don't think he seems particularly suspicious. Certainly there are more suspicious people around and things happening, such as Dimos (simply because of what Double A himself said - not really huge suspicion, but certainly more than I see around Double A), or Nightangel's random bandwagoning.
Heh Just realised I repeated what Double A said completely about the lynching there... Can we edit our posts or not Jubal?

Not on nothing. D1 should have some discussion so a pattern can hopefully be established. In a power-role game, no lynch is a good option for D1, but if someone seems suspicious, town needs to jump on them like velociraptors on a wounded triceratops.

With our possibly only or best detective gone, we really need a lynch today. There's no hard evidence to go on now, and certainly nothing in the next day or so. Any other detectives will want to get in contact with doctors (there probably is at least one) so they can scumhunt in peace. Until then, we need to do our hunting the old fashioned way:
Randomly voting Applying pressure until someone cracks and says something stupid.
Well, to toss the ball back to SOTK, I am innocent and all I know is about 1 other man's innocence, which I can't speak who's him/her.
I will follow the wagon if you, SOTK will vote against PG09, but I am really anxious of this move's outcome. You, Double A, are you sure that PG is the scum we're searching?
From a random re-reading of the posts I can note many evidence, but then again it might be just my galloping imagination... I will vote for PG if most of you people believe he's the scum...
What does Visorslash, Dripping D and Ladyawk have to say?
He's hosted but hasn't played till now. I can say with a straight face that this has never happened to me before. This doesn't excuse him from newbie mistakes if he's hosted at least 3 games. If he's done more, I guess a lynch (or, preferably, an investigation) would be in order.
By the way, saying you're innocent doesn't actually cut it. ;)
Saying you'll follow the bandwagon doesn't either, I'm afraid.
I myself, have decided to read thought all the posts and give you all my decicion shortly.
Well let's just have a look here. Who actually believes I am suspicious?
Double A is naturally defensive from what I said earlier, so his perspective may be a little skewed as he doesn't want to risk having the mob side against him. This is fair enough so I propose to retract my suspicions until a later date in return for Double A to retract his slanders too. Would you be amenable to this Double A?
NightAngel did not give a reason other than his desire to see me gutted. I am unsuprisingly against the idea of my entrails being spilled.
Visorslash: Well I have explained my comment so I hope that he would be so kind as to retract his vote.
As his violent nature has been so exposed I believe NightAngel should become the object of our suspicions, at least for now. What say you NightAngel? Why do you wish so badly for me to be eviscerated?
Sorry to comment again but I realised that in my rambling I forgot to reply to Double A's point. (I have run a few games in real life after dinner but they were all over very quickly, with very little conniving going on. I have also run the two Wibbulniblia games on here, both of which had an excess of cunning plans)

Yes but killing an innocent is not helping matters at all. Have I given any reason for you to be suspicious of me?

Good day all,
"NA you say that I am a good friend of yours and you will be most displeased if you are wrong. But you have voted for me. Would you awfully mind retracting your vote old chap? "
Real friendships mean nothing in a mafia game, other than people you're more likely to listen to. Bringing them up is scummy.

I'm simply trying to get people on-side here. That being said, I understand that you all seem to have a pre-conceived idea of me. I tell you that you have all been manipulated.
Just to finish this off, don't trust Double A as it is clear to see that he doesn't stand by agreements he has made.

You said remove slander. I did (in the unlikely case it was). Now I'm causing more "slander," which you didn't say a thing about. Furthermore, I haven't manipulated you in the slightest. If I had, you would have far less limbs.

And why have you threatened the safety of my limbs?

A crowd surrounded Phoenixguard, a particularly shifty looking character. As he backed away from the increasingly suspicious crowd, a knife fell from his pocket; one covered in dry blood.
"String him up, then!" called the Captain.
And so they did. Looking through his belongings proved that his story of being "Mark Durban" was just a fantasy. He was none other than the ruthless hired killer Marcus Gurt, infamous throughout Europe. They had, thank goodness, found at least one villain aboard the ship - though there was no proof that he had been the original murderer, his nefarious doings here had come to an end. The ship was a little safer... but had they uncovered the whole story?
Phoenixguard09, Marcus Gurt, Hired Killer, aka "Mark Durban, Esquire" lynched by the passengers.
IT IS NOW NIGHT TWO. I'll be away most of the week so this night may continue until next Monday, sorry folks!.
Hell to the yeah! :D
When we've got the rest of them I'll break out the cherry.
*Heurgekurgeurk!*
Oi, you're supposed to be a European assassin, not a Mexican robot!
Another one ride the bus. ;D
Horay, hooray! One of them is down! Does it hurt, filthy assasins?? :) ;D
Not a very good trade though. Marcus Gurt for Sherlock Holms.
Excuse me sirs, but I believe it is nighttime.

Oh. I forgot. Sorry. :)

RULES
- When a player reaches 50% of the votes, they are lynched and day ends.
- Vote in the format Vote: Player X, preferably in bold and red.
Please point out the rule where it says "No talking at night."
It's implied.
*From beyond the grave.*
"It does say if you aren't sure, ask him before you do it.
Awoooo..."

Get back down in there, scum! >:( ;D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADxFY8n9oE0)
Jubal hosted like 10 games on TWC, and in none of them is night chatter prohibited. Therefore, it is implied that he doesn't mind, along with every other lenient host.
It's night. Shhh.
*snore*
Monday already?
Isn't it day yet Jubal???

Main problem? Jubal is still sleeping... :)
Sorry, work is delaying thigns a bit. Will get this done as soon as I can.
<:( You could have just said that the day has started.
vote: Jubal
Come on guys, lay off a bit. If Jubal could start the day he would. Im sure hes just really busy with RL stuff. He will get there.
Vote: Jubal LOL. Just joking, I can be patient for a few more months. :P
Day dawns...
And another one bites the dust. Having lost the second greatest deductive mind in the world, the passengers suddenly found that the greatest was torn from their midst. The fat, ostensibly lazy form of CN2, Mycroft Holmes, had been only a shield for the mind so great it essentially ran the government of Britain's great Empire. He is discovered in the hallway, pale and shaking, half-paralysed and unable to talk. A spike has been shot into his shoulder, coated with some unknown venom. Whatever poison he has been affected by will take a long time to heal... if it ever does. A bleak day for the Abyssinia.
CN2, Mycroft Holmes, Deductive Genius, Poisoned Night Two
IT IS DAY. 10 Left, 6 to lynch.
GOGOGO!
Lazy good-for-nothin' slob anyway. This is the first I've even seen the likes of his fat ass since we began this trip.
Le sigh.
So, guys. Just got my nightly results back from whatever role I have (Jubal forgot).
I didn't get to do anything. Probably because I whited out and woke up in my bed with a bandaged left shoulder which hurts like hell.
I think I've been poisoned or roleblocked.
what were you trying to do?
well what could you have done? (im basically asking for a roleclaim)
Quote from: Dripping D on November 03, 2011, 10:36:46 PM
what were you trying to do?
Nothing, actually. I forgot to send in orders.
The question... what do we do now? 2 of the best roles for the ''good'' side of the game have fallen in ''battle'' .
We need to get some facts down. Phoenixguard09 was an evil-man. Who seamed supportive to him? who tried to backup him? I'll examine the posts and propose a lynching, investigate yourself, people; we need facts!
My suspicions thus far go around the Khan and Ladyhawk and people who remained inactive in the votes... ::)
What do the rest of the people think?? ???
Well, he did say he thought LadyHawk wasn't suspicious on D1, so that's a pretty good reason to vote: LadyHawk.
Well, that can be a possibility... I'll have to think of that seriously...
I agree, and staying silent doesn't seem to be doing anybody any good, its the quiet ones who've gone so far... I'll vote Ladyhawk, too, as us good'uns must stick together, so surely must the bad'uns...
In the name of the most holy bandwagon!
Vote: Lady Hawk
Yes, I think so many people can't be wrong. Evidence is against the Hawk!
Vote: Ladyhawk! But I wish to know, what do you say in your defence?
PS: 2 more votes are needed for a lynch! :o
band wagon time, lets see blood spilled (or corpses hanging in the breeze in this case)
Vote: Ladyhawk
this isnt purely for the sake of a lynch, the fact she was defended by a known bad guy and has been quiet for awhile is mighty suspicious
Well, Im a bit hurt that because of me not being so active because of RL stuff, and that I just have said anything too be reason enough too kill me. Khan seemed to be of a more suspious nature. And being defend by a bad guy. Perhaps he defended me too make himself look good? But with a game such as this I surpose even what I am saying now could be twisted in too something suspious. In my defence. No, you shouldnt lynch me for, besides of my terri le spelling, there is nothing bad about me. I am saddend to think that you would believe so.
... you know it's just a game, right?
Anyway, the case on you is the most solid thing we've got. I really paid much attention to Khan, but I'll defer to anyone who has. I'm too tired and sick right now to do much more than this post.
Seriously, this is the fourth time in two weeks that I've vomited in the morning. What the hell, body?

It's just the highly concentrated awesome of Exilian, your body needs time to adapt.
Aye, 'tis. ;D
Who do you vote, CG? Or do you prefer to stay innactive??
Sorry, I've been busy with RL stuff as well (I was in Hospital :) ). Whys everyone picking on the girl... Oh stuff it, Vote: Ladyhawk.
Bold it or Jubal won't count it.
That's six, once The Khan's counts... do we wait until the end of the day or do we have enough of a definitive vote to get this lynch over and done with?

XD I actually did that on purpose to see if Jubal would notice. My actual vote goes for: Dimos
Which means that if the HAWK is scum, the next one will be the Khan... Or even worse if she isn't the Khan can be an over-agressive killer, taking advantage of the weak position of the HAWK, for he started the attack against me since the day 1.
C'mon guys! Another vote to lynch and send this cold-blooded killer to meet the Dog-Fish Sharks of the Aegean Sea! :)
Remember in the last Mafia how the two Daemons voted for the other Daemons. Well If she were bad and I would be bad I would've voted for her. So in other worlds your methods of trying to make me look bad fail.
Vote: Ladyhawk
Let's do this thing. Khan next.
Second that, seems the ozzies are out to get us!
also this isnt the other mafia game, this is 'this' mafia game, why play the same style? it would be like telling someone your poker face

Wait how does that make him scum?
I think it's obvious: If HAWK is innocent and the Khan is supportive to her, then all people will think he is innocent as well, which might be true, but evidence shows elsewise... Why should an innocent man be the first to start an accusation of a random member based not on evidence, but on the ''need for a lynch'' since day 1?
Ladyhawk is strung up and lynched. Despite her protestations, the persona of "John Smith" had just not been convincing enough. As the suspect's legs finish kicking, "his" hat falls off to reveal the pale and wan face of one of the most famous thieves in the Greek world. Elenia Kalazis... a professional at her trade. But what could have brought her here? Strangely uncomfortable despite this victory for the forces of law and order, the crew and passengers wander off to bed...
Ladyhawk, Elenia Kalazis/John Smith, Professional Thief, lynched day three.
IT IS NOW NIGHT THREE. ACTIONS TO ME, PLEASE.

XD Skyrim's cool. It's the best. Shh, it's night time.
I take offense to everyone insisting that I'm not allowed to spam the thread at night like I am in almost every other game I have ever played.
As long as your spam is totally inane at night (aka not really related to the game or scumhunting) it's fine and just classes as the weird dreams you have. :)

Day dawns... and another person on board is dead.
The body of Karl von Astergott is found slumped in his room. A bullet hole has torn his throat open, but not only that; a glass by his bedside shows traces of deadly chemicals. Dimos, as he was otherwise known, had laid out his masonic robes the night before but would never get a chance to wear them again. Nobody can tell whether the poison or the bullet killed him, for either would have been sufficient.
Karl Von Astergott, Dimos, Mason, shot and poisoned.
8 Left, 5 votes to Lynch. GO!
Vote: Khan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0)
Down to the hallway for Astergott's room, you heard a strange wisper... Something like:
Revenge, revenge! How is it I am undone!?! PIGS! You will pay for it! Get them, my sons
I didn't expect that. :o
I would be slow to accuse The Khan at this point, there is some confusion over my overnight activity that could shed a whole new light on the event once explained...
I can explain.
You see I'm the scientist and I used my last ability to randomize Khan's target.
Now if that is enough for you let's get him.
Vote:Khan
Note: Sorry Dimnos, but on the bright side it looks like you would have died anyway and I saved someone else the process.
I'm not too worried about role revealing as I can't do much but vote now.
My Masonic brother has been slain! Who dare commit this travesty against us!
Vote: Khan
I... used my night ability to swap Dimos and The Khan. As in, whatever action was meant to be performed on one, was performed on the other. Which means The Khan was the intended target -> can't be mafia.
Or a civy had a kill power.
Or floam is fooling us all, in league with Khan protecting him from a likely attack by a civy on him
anyway why would mafia want to get rid of someone whos going to take the lynch?
Well, there were two attempts on Dimos' life... so either the mafia came to a split decision of Dimos -and- Khan, and the Khan-murder got switched to Dimos because of my overnight activity, or there's a non-mafia who can kill. But what incentive would they have for The Khan? (Or Dimos?)
Not quite.
If you're telling the truth and you switched there places, there was an attempt on Mark's life.
I used mercury to mess up Khan's target making him target Dimos.
Thus there was no attempt on Dimos's life.
Let me get this straight...
Mafia attack Khan
Khan's ability gets a random target, courtesy of Nightangel (could possibly have ended up targeting himself)
Khan and Dimos are bussed
Vig targets Khan
Dimos gets killed by mafia and vig
That's it, right?
Yes I think so.
Khan preforms mafia hit on himself due to randomiser and the swap killed Dimos.

...Okay, I'm lost. How did comrade-general become a guilty suspect? (And why did he vote for himself? o.o)
He became guilty when he voted for himself. Why he did that... IDK.

I'm really confused now. This mafia is getting all muddled up. I don't have the slightest idea who's good or who's bad.
No, nor me. xD Though suddenly, I'm suspicious of Nightangel, who seems to be discouraging all logical thinking/working out of confusion over random kills. Little bloodthirsty, perhaps? And avoided the suspect limelight til now...
I'm the scientist.
And I just don't want to lose a kill.
I don't want to lose because we got complacent.
OK. I'm getting bored of this mafia. I quit. This is the Message that Jubal sent me. I am:
"Officer Dirforth
You are a former military policeman, used to the far outposts of the Empire. You're sure you can help find the killer, and the best way to do that is to make sure people aren't getting up to any mischief.
You may choose to guard one person's room each night. That person will then not be allowed in or out, and may not either take any actions or have any actions done to them.
You win with the good side when all evil players are dead."
Funny isn't it. I protected Dimos about 3 times even though he thought I wanted to kill him.
You know, considering you just roleclaimed as a doctor, we probably won't kill you now unless it's by accident.
Anyway, unvote

You are a horrible mafia player if you're ragequtting over one lynch, which, I might add, is not going to happen.
Na. It's not that. I just can't be bothered doing it. This one kind of bored me out. I like the Wibbulniblia Mafias better.
Wobba what now?
the difference being this one actually requires in depth thinking due to large numbers of experienced players. So long n00b (i jest but still...)
Let's not get nasty...
Vote: Nightangel, because our most interesting suspects are dead/gone from the game, so let's fling this in another direction xD
No you fool.
I am innocent!
vote: Son of the King
As Khan has a) stated his wish to commit suicide and b) posted the full text of a PM I sent, I am going to have to acede to his death-wish; death also has to equal night phase to ensure game balance really. Sorry guys.
Khan jumps overboard. The old military officer just couldn't take it anymore, it seemed. Despite a life of guard duty, those tense nights in the aegean had taken another passenger to their death.
Khan, Officer Dirforth, Military Guardsman (Protector/Roleblocker), commited suicide.
IT IS NOW NIGHT. Actions to me please.
You should have replaced him.
Better yet, he shouldn't have quit.
Poke.
Ow. that. was. my. eye. ball. :P
Some nights, a passenger on the Abyssinia has lost their life.
On this one, two did.
Alicinia de Quenliya had once thought of swapping nameplates on doors as a childhood game. It gained a more deadly urgency when she tried to use it to stop the killers on board the ship. Tonight, though, someone decided she had done enough. She is found sprawled in a hallway, a bullet lodged in her spinal column.
Floam, Alcinia, player-switcher, shot dead.
Poison - intentional poison or even, perhaps, unintentional poison (who knows?) - has been a bane of the passengers. And so tonight again, with Lord Ganderby Elmingham disappearing entirely. It is only when a black shape is spotted floating in the water at dawn that he is pulled up and the deadly traces of chloroform noticed. He is still wearing his masonic robes.
Dripping D, Lord Ganderby Elmingham, Mason, poisoned (and then thrown overboard).
5 left alive - JUST THREE TO LYNCH.
What are all these Masonic twits doing on this boat?
Enemies of the Masonic order never fare well...
Okay judging from the numbers there was Civ kill misfire.
We've killed two mafia.
So I'm thinking ether one or two members remain.
Two would be really bad as they could match us for votes by tomorrow.
Long and short, we could very well lose today.

Three votes is a lynch, though, so the unvote is too late.
Whilst one member frantically tried to go back on their words, it was too late to save Watson. Despite his pleas, he was blindfolded and taken onto the deck, then one of the crew shot him. Fortunately, their aim was somewhat poor and the Doctor lived; unfortunately, it was still enough for him to be out for the count for a good month or more, and thus dead to the hunt for the real killers...

Very well then, vote: Double_A
Thanks for that NA :) .
I guess its time we try and finish this then. Vote: Double_A
I'm back! Exilian was reported as a friggin' attack site and I couldn't post or do anything else. I even said so on the YouTube page like 2 weeks ago!
And thanks to Jubal's stupid autolynch rule, you've just about killed the vigilante and likely our chance at victory. Yesterday was a disaster, and I want to turn that rule into a person and punch it in the face.
I was going to send this to Dripping D before I realized that PMing was against the rules (another one I detest), so here it is, unedtited. I've been shooting people with the gun, and I've been in the dark the entire damn game.
QuoteSince your masonic claim was undisputed, I will take a little gamble and trust you.
I am the vigilante. The first night, I attacked CN2 (or maybe Dimnos) more or less randomly. He was protected by a military-looking man (I assume it was Khan). Second night I attacked someone (can't remember who & didn't save the PM - may have been Khan or ladyhawk) but was roleblocked. Third night, I attacked Khan, but wound up shooting Dimnos instead (the room's nameplates were switched). My write-up says he was just "lying there" in his bed, so it may have been before or after the poison.
This leads me to believe Floam's roleclaim, for only he would know about the bussing action. However, I've heard of mafia bussers before, which means I still find him suspicious. Most of the game he hasn't been active. He voted for ladyhawk, but I strongly believe the thief was not connected in any way to the mafia (3rd party) because it simply makes sense - thieves typically work alone. He also could have done so to build credibility.
Furthermore, this post is really, really weird:

Son of the King was fairly active (5 posts) the first two days but dropped off the face of the earth on D3. As hawk was also a lurker, this leads me to believe he could be a Scumasaurus Rex. However, I'd rather vote for him tomorrow to see if he reacts. If he does, he's a lurker and needs to be lynched. If he doesn't, he simply lost track of the game and can be safely ignored.
Visorslash has the same case as SotK, but I know him more. He's usually active. His earlier posts lead me to believe he is innocent and simply forgot about the game. Test vote should be done tomorrow.
Nightangel's ability is weird. It's so weird it might be believable. However, when something is so weird you believe it, it usually isn't real. This leads to the natural conclusion that it is real due to its unbelievability. Since paradoxical logic must be used, the only truly logical conclusion is that he's creating a WIFOM to screw with my head and needs to be shot out of a cannon. His post saying "No you fool, I am innocent!" isn't doing his case any favors at all.
comrade_general has done nothing but lurk, spam, and vote throughout the entire game. I have no idea what he normally does, but if he's usually more active and helpful, he needs to die. He voted for PG09 and got confused today. Seems like he would usually just go with the flow, latching on to bandwagons with semi-decent cases whenever he can.
This is the level of trust I have in people:

2. You

Three votes is a lynch.
Comrade_General finally gave up. The crew surrounded him and one man solemnly tied a noose around his neck. The crew. HIS crew. Captain Johnson, sailor and skipper of the vessel, lynched by the very men he had been trying to steer to safety.
Comrade_General, Captain Johnson, Lynchblocker, is dead.

Okay, the night had better end then.
"This was your fault." A whisper in the night, and Sam Derrington took the safety catch off his pistol. "And now you die for it."
The man in the bed in front of him was soon dead, with a bullet in his neck. It had been so easy. But was the ship safe? He staggered out onto the deck, hoping that it was all over.
"I'm afraid that you're not going to be able to go that way." A voice behind him. He spun round.
"It's been a woeful voyage." 'Professor Michael Oria', leaned nonchalantly against a railing. "I've had to put booby traps on many people's rooms, shoot an awful lot of people, and even dispense with some rather useful allies."
"It was you?!?"
"Professor M. Oria. Gods, I would have thought Holmes might have spotted it. Fortunately, it turns out trapping people's doors is a fairly effective way of removing one's enemies. James Moriarty looked, steely-eyed, at his foe. "And you seem to have just shot poor MacKenroy. His inventions did rather more harm than good to your cause, but it's been amusing to watch. Now, there's one last question."
"And what would that be?"
"You have the Ring of Lemnos. Do you want to hand it over?"
"Unsurprisingly not."
Without even a word, Moriarty pulled a single-shot pistol and hit Derrington in the leg. The last murder on the Abyssinia had finally been committed. But it was too late. With a brief chuckle, the young man pulled a small, shining piece of gold out of his pocket - and flung it overboard.
"No! NO!"
Moriarty couldn't quite believe it. All that... and for nothing? He hurriedly replaced his pistol, and returned to his cabin. Eventually, a slight hum rose from below him. The engines! The engines were working!
...at dawn, he walked out onto the deck, where a crewman had taken the body of Sam Derrington away. He sat on a chair that had once been the captain's, and enquired of a crewman what all the noise had been overnight.
"We're not sure, but it seems that that Derrington fellow must have killed his uncle. It's all a nasty business, sir. Any tea?"
Denied of his prize, Professor Moriarty sipped his drink gently and puffed on his pipe, staring out to sea. It had been a strange business. The Abyssinia, groaning beneath him, slowly but surely began to chug its way towards the shore.
James MacKenroy, Unreliable Inventor (Nightangel), shot.
Samuel Derrington, Vigilante (Double A), killed at endgame.
James Moriarty, Godfather/Room Trapper (Son Of The King), survives but fails to achieve all win conditions.
I'll get a round-up of exactly what happened done soonish.
... why did this game take 3 months?
Mostly my fault due to inactivity, work, and the dread horrors of real life. Partly also a matter of fairly slow activity in the day phases too and people being slow to get night actions in. Apologies to anyone who got pissed off at this, I think the setting worked quite well (more balanced than I'd initially predicted) but I've rather sucked as a mod at times. :-\
I think I might try running one soon.
It makes me sad I didn't manage to win despite surviving to the end. Silly jewels :) .
