Thanks! Yeah she self-published which is definitely a legitimate route these days - albeit difficult to handle due to social media constraints. The good news is that now more than ever before, you can self-publish with real success so if you have a good idea and generally a smart campaign, you'll do decently.

My friend in Ohio just released her book and it has done phenomenally well on Kickstarter as well as on Amazon - she did a VERY involved campaign however.

Wizards can and mostly do, live for extended periods of time due to Biomancy - the magic of maintain life itself. Most wizards focus on biomancy and human anatomy first, helps keep them and people they know alive - many townsfolk will think of wandering wizards as healers in many ways.

Sorry about the long delay, sort of missed the response!

With the Dhazudak it's roughly 200 words in now with a few tricks of grammar and a unique alphabet. The alphabets I've created for any and all races are always a bit different than the latin one we are accustomed to, thus they have a few random sounds at times - but there's a few key indicators as towards how they are pronounced.

I believe Sámssian is up to 900 words now..

Definitely, I think Mr. Squirrell will probably be there for some-time so getting a stand up and running by your next convention could be totally plausible. I also have an old friend in London right now who would be able to help out, so we'll see what we can do.

That'd be great, I'd love to see an ExiliCon Australia/Australiacon one of these days - perhaps when we're a bit more established we'll get it organised.

One of my favorite games of all time was Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura and it certainly has had an influence over my vision and writing, however I've never played Eberron; Though Zac has! Ultimately I don't know if it is a mix between both worlds, but it does have elements the late 1800s, minus the overly steampunk theme - I wanted to really focus on the good and bad of the industrial revolution and create a world where the struggle inside of an ever-changing society is both destructive and illuminating.

Magic is.. interesting because we have this idea of what magic can do and in both high and low settings, however it isn't all-consuming throughout the world, it's merely a part of it - like a rare material which some may utilise and others may not. For a few societies, it's the backbone of their civilisation, whereas with others it is either rare or scorned - there's definitely a complexity which is easily matched by real world elements.

Like I've said earlier, never played Eberron but perhaps there are some similarities? I'll have Zac respond to this as well, he'd be a bit more knowledgeable on this.

Ah, thank you - I was scratching my head on where that was, even wizards do not know everything!

Welcome to Ars Tali Games!

Our company is a proud affiliate/partner of Exilian and we hope to share with everyone here what our team is about along with what products we are currently working on. Ars Tali Games was founded by Isaac Williams and Nolan Pitler in January of 2015 in lieu of our development of "The World of Aker-Cosi" and the "LEGACY" mechanics, however our history is nearing five years of planning. In 2010, Isaac and I both came up with the idea to develop a world for Dungeons and Dragons where industry and magic had collided into two opposing factions - however we wanted to retain an independent concept away from steampunk. Cultures were formed and early classes were created however one of the major elements was the restriction of mechanics via the D20 system - to this extent we eventually would move towards D100 mechanics.

Most of our work on Aker-Cosi and LEGACY has been within the last eight months since we've founded the company, bringing lots of new faces to the team:

Art Team

Natalie Szymczak - Lead Artist

Natalie has been with us for seven months now, her contributions have been phenomenal - creating characters, logos, maps and largely building our website.

Daniel Squirrell - Environment Artist

Daniel is working on the environments of Aker-Cosi, developing landscapes, architecture, sigils and much more.

Elizabeth Muller - Character Artist

Our newest addition to the art team, Elizabeth has been helping produce characters and is currently working on Korrissian mercenaries.

Jess Leigh Stewart - Character Artist

Jess has been working on concept art for our world, in particular she has been helping us define the look and feel of several cultures - including the feared Rakan Mages and the peaceful trading WuiGui lake people.

Mechanics Team

Isaac Williams - Lead Game Designer/Writer

Co-owner of Ars Tali Games and Wizard. There shouldn't be much more to say, though he is a wonderful person and a brilliant scientist! (But seriously, his mechanics work is fantastic.)

Damon Kleinschafer - Game Designer/Writer

Damon has been with us since day one, he's helped define our mechanics system with Isaac and has contributed a considerable amount to our lore, including the creative and at times humorous, Grommlings.

Bit awkward to talk about myself but I'm the other Co-owner and Lead Writer, I produce the majority of the languages along with organising the cultures to ensure they flow correctly together.

Curtis Rauscher - Writer

Curtis has been helping with lore, largely focused around the Dhazud/Dwarves. In particular he is developing a northern clan who is known for their ferocity.

Thanks! I've always had a tendency for going overboard with characters and the histories behind them, but it's ultimately beneficial. To be honest, I'm pretty happy with this language as of yet - the alphabet worked beautifully and mixed with my own approach to Dhazudak/Dwarvish, it really comes across as both runic and gorgeous.

I think that'd be a good idea - albeit we have our own forums, they're not very active and I'd be happy to have a small sub-forum here setup so that we may update potential fans and hear feedback.
