Thought i should post here after 1.5 years away:) Happy birthday party, now over to the main issue. WHERE'S THE CAKE??

I went and installed oblivion again :$ 14 mods for now :ninja:

uesugi was red in normal shogun if i remember correctly

make a fuel of war kind of mod, soldiers with machineguns running around killing eachother, its worth a try. though every game will end incredibly fast...

use a phalanx or two and your enemy will surely die in numbers only imagined by god when he created the molecules

btw in a battle 4v4 once, a long time ago. My team compromising of romans actually managed to kill a whole greek team:D and thats said to be almost impossible on a tight area. All we did was rush with numbers and bombard with siege. eventually the soldiers broke through and it was a total slaughter Ohh yeah and i sent a few swimming groups to take their siege weapons early on so they could not fire anymore :$

Amusingly, the Gauls suckishness is realistic; they had far worse military capability than Roman or German counterparts at the time of RTW.

Seriously they suck beyond anything i have ever seen, if they just had one phalanx type unit then they would be one of the best teams. Also they can never win full stack fights :ermm:

That depends, if you can play AS egyptians or any of the other teams non civilized, civilized means greeks and romans and Thracians, Macedonians and i put germans in here too since they got the phalanx along with their terrible infantry. If you can play with any other race then i bet you are quite good:) I am incredible poor at playing other factions, can't use gauls, can't play selucids and the brittain barbarian people they suck beyond imagination. However i somehow hold on since they start on an island but i can never seem to invade the mainland. However every race that got the phalanx, i have never lost a siege battle defending with two platoons of those. So with germans its incredibly easy just to defend. Even more so for the greeks, and the thracians are incredible at both attacking and defending. I just got a little problem that everyone starts by declaring war at me there, however i manage to build myself up at some point when the romans have taken the south. Then my expansion is incredible, and i take over half the earth. Heh it was a beautiful sight as scipii when i took the whole world, thats the only time i put in enough time to take the whole world. btw i suck at playing online since then i cannot rush with superior numbers and one more thing, the only thing i really excel at is managing my towns so i can build a lot of troops. I don't care for siege weapons and 2 turn soldiers, gotta build them fast and cheep. With this i got an incredible advantage in numbers whenever i fight someone, however on the other hand i always stay close to 0 denarii.

no problem, never lost a battle of significance. I have fought them as julii, brutii and scipii and they were no problem at any one of them. However what i had problems with was that it was boring battles, at all these times i had full stacks of troops whenever i used them and i didn't even bother using a strategy. I just use the numbers when i got too many troops and that seems to work. Also the first three turns ingame goes to make my champion group, no matter what team i stack one full army and then i can just take over every country with ease. Don't bother with using any tactics against Egyptians, they got terrible troops and their phalanxes can't fight my arrow rains and cavalry attacks anyway. Also the chariots are incredibly easy to kill with archers.

julii should be able to take down most people, they got close to free access to the entire north just because the gauls suck. If they get into war with the germans thats an entirely different story (that we will not go further in on)

well egyptians are nothing, i always pwn them in the start. I have never lost a battle against them, all i do is build huge cavalry based armies with a lot of slingers just for ranges sake and some javeliners. That works well, i also do have this sick thing about getting phalanxes myself. Once i got a platoon or two i just send them across the field defending them from harm from the sides and they will take care of the rest. Learn to use them in attack and you will be invincible :ninja:

damned i just forgot i reinstalled the game because of a mod and i cant seem to find my scipi campaign where i own the world and have defeated both the others, DAMNIT!
