As I said above, the most plausible theory seems to be that it's mainly dictated by nutrition.

So trends in the past have included a drop from the Middle Ages to the late C18th, then a rise to the present; there was also apparently a big drop at the advent of grain-based agriculture as people started eating a lot less meat.

MAPS AND RMSes

This thread will be a big list of scenarios and random maps you can add to your games of 0AD; there are install instructions for new maps & scenarios at the bottom of the first post.

To Install Scenarios
Go to your 0AD folder, then go binaries -> data -> mods -> public. Then unzip public.zip, go to maps -> scenarios in the new unzipped file structure, and paste 'em there then unzip. You should be able to reach them ingame by selecting "All Maps" under the map filter when starting a game.

On Ubuntu, your 0ad folder will be buried in /usr/share/games/0ad. It won't have the maps/scenarios folders, so open up Nautilus as root (Alt+F2, gksudo nautilus) and enter your password, then navigate to /usr/share/games/0ad/mods/public and create a folder called 'maps' (without quotes) then inside that make one called 'scenarios' (without quotes). Then put your map files in there, and access them the same as above.

To Install Random Maps
The random maps work very much as above except instead of the "scenarios" folder it's the "random" folder you want.

I mean seriously this isn't great.

Mainly I think I want more of a focus on getting information into people, because increasingly I feel that stuff like source analysis just doesn't work that well unless you have a bit more context/breadth of understanding.

Okay, this is the grand Exilian Multiplayer Rankings Thread!

To enter the table, just post the result of any multiplayer game you've played. We're using an elo ranking system like for chess tournaments (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system#Mathematical_details) so your ranking change is very dependent on who you're playing and their rank compared to yours. Everyone starts out at 1000 points and goes upwards or downwards according to results.

Please do post after action reports too but ideally in separate threads - leave this for rankings discussion and banter.
