So the war seems to be rumbling on with no prospect of an end. I don't know what I think half the time, it's all horribly depressing.
A few observations though:
- Seems to be far too common that people seem to equate condemning Israeli over-reach with being pro-Hamas, and lots of people seem to be claiming to be pro-Hamas when most
Gazans aren't even pro-Hamas.
(This is interesting, on that note)
- Palestinian casualty figures are horrific, but the Israeli government is too scared of its own voters and right wing to call off its offensive.
- Hamas seems to essentially be using human shielding as their main anti-Israel strategy. Which is about the most abhorrent thing ever.
- Israel doesn't seem to realise that you can't just counter a human shield strategy by telling everyone it's Hamas' fault for putting the human shields there, closing your eyes, and keeping your finger on the trigger.
It's really quite miserable all round.
