Did I detect any sarcasm in that article? Yes. Yes I did.

I'm not sure I really have an opinion on it though, grammar is falling by the wayside I can see that but I don't know whether it's the language changing or not.

I think there's some linguistic change, but at the same time that's not the whole story. Some level of standardisation is needed for formal writing, academia, etc, and furthermore a lot of bad grammar just doesn't read as well or make as much sense, even for people who write that way themselves, because the literary culture and the way they've learned to read have all been reading (mostly) grammatically correct English.

Bear in mind I'm not really talking split infinitives here, which I don't have any issue with, it's the level of knowing where to put your damn apostrophes that concerns me.
