A nice little thread to post anything pretty you make in concept art or good screenshots etc :)
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Here is a demonstration of the natural phenomenon of low FPS around black ant supply junctions

Ooh, that's super pretty! :)

And yeah, I think often people just don't find some of these threads - once they start getting used they keep rolling, but too many start and then never see the light of day again.

Meanwhile in the world of considerably lower grade graphics, I've been sweating blood trying to do a ~7 frame animation of a space-beast throwing a rock:

I am not very good at graphics at the best of times, and animating anything biological is a right pain. But I guess it's not really there to be "good" graphics, it's just "possibly a bit more interesting than no graphics".

A rock? You mean a thermal pod?

JeffNevington

The space beast looks awesome.  Where are the other 6 frames?  Is it for a game?

Jubal

I'm still making/tweaking them - I'll take a little video sometime soon of the whole thing with the sound effects. :)

And yes, it's part of my little loosely Doctor Who themed adventure game/hobby project, entitled LIFE. It's mostly text-adventure gameplay but with some rather roughly hacked together pixel graphics to give location images etc.

Looks bloody awesome.  Your pixel art is really decent, the style is coherent between the screenshots.

Your method also sounds like Dr Who jargon,
Quotestarting with photographs, montaging them, then crunching the image and indexing

Jubal

Yes! It seems to work somehow, anyways!

In today's quick screen - an Exxilon, a Judoon, and a Terileptil walk into a bar...

Koob: I like the vector stylised stuff most I think, especially for your sorts of projects which tend to be quite story driven and atmospheric :)

Here's a spaceship I made recently - I figured I'd post it here because I made it, was rather pleased with it, then realised that ingame you only get to see the damn thing for a quarter of a second (literally, not figuratively).
