Search for Shogun 2 on Steam, then scroll down the page a little and on the right hand side there is a button saying Download Demo.

It's also in the scrolling thing they have as a news updater, in the features items page (home page). That thing that is kinda like advertisement.

My first impressions are good, and also I can run it fine which is wonderful

. However I find the new? interface confusing, considering the last one I played was M2, I keep struggling to find everything and miss my building/recruitment scroll.
