all the tw games are built that way though although maybe with a few differences like skins, different names ect.

Feudal Japan has a strong tendency towards samey units though, because the different factions were all quite culturally monotone. Rome has quite a bit of unit diversity.

yeah a bit, but like with the mercenaries on rome, they were just green versions from the other factions and other things like carthage, spain and numida all used the same generals bodyguard. Its little things like that that annoy me, that why i went into modding in the first place. :)

That's true, though being fair most mercenaries historically would have been deserters of some description, except in areas where there was no standing army to begin with.

Good point it's just I don't like it how they just paint a mercenary unit green, plus the colour coding of each faction annoys the crap out of me :)

Back to topic :P I guess TW games are so great usually because of the modding community. I can think of very little games, aside of RTW, that keep on being played so avidly after so many years. (This is considering the TW community, I would expect the RTW sections to be lonelier)

That happens a lot to me.

It sometimes makes me wonder where the hell do I live? On Mars?!

So, TW:S2 finally finished downloading. I think "I'll have one battle before I go to bed". Then discover that it crashes on the splash screen. Every time.

I wouldn't mind if I was still at uni with fast internet, but here reinstalling will take another 2 days...

On the plus side the Steam forum for it suggests I'm not the only one having this problem.
