Okay, I'm looking into whether we should host an Exilian Games event again. For those who don't know, think the olympics with RTW, M&B, 0AD, poetry, artwork, and other such events. Teams are different competing websites, so we'd invite WIldfire, TWC, Modrealms, TWH, and so on to send a team.

So... thoughts? Shall we do it? What events should we have?
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

I'I'm definitly in, but only for a few games, since I don't have much. I have Empire at War (+ Expansion), 0AD, Age of Empire, Empire Earth, etcetera etcetera.

Rome, because more of us have it I think. And it's a better game.

So an events list would probably read something like this:

Game Events
RTW 10,000 Singles
RTW 25,000 Singles
RTW 2 x 10,000 Doubles
BI 10,000 Singles
BI 25,000 Singles
M&B Warband Grand Melee (A warband team event with 4 or 5 man teams)
M&B Warband Singles
M&B Warband Cavalry Singles (joust!)
M&B Warband Ranged Singles
0AD Singles
0AD Doubles
Triposte (Play 0AD, Warband, and RTW for best of three. Only for the most committed gamer because, y'know, three matches in one).

Judged Contests (I'll find external judges)
3d Modelling Contest (for a collada format model 0AD style maybe?)
2d Art contest
Short story contest
Poetry contest
Dramatic Speaking contest
Music Contest
Both open and vanilla screenshot contests for 0AD, M&B Warband, and RTW.

Possibly with 500 or 40,000 events for Rome (to test either warband level or grand scale play). And a couple others perhaps, we'll see.

Very much. It's a free, historical and non-mythical version of AoM, with a few more polys on the units and a lot more functions. The only thing is that it's still in alpha, so a lot is still missing.

TF2 might be added too, considering it's free, although this depends on the amount of members that can play, considering it's a team game.

has anyone contacted the other websites yet, to register interest, or this going to be all exilian? basically, have we started thinking about teams?

I think it'd become kinda awkward to include other websites, I don't know what the other think about it, but I kinda have a different feel with Exilian guys (in comparison to guys from, like for example, TW Center)

i think it would be much easier to organize if we keep it just exilian as well

NNOOOO!! We really need to start introducing Age of Empires into this forum. That is the only game, 1. that I would like to play and 2. that I can play. It would also give me a chance to show my superior skill.

What we've done in the past is invite as many sites as possible and organised formal site teams.

This is the model I favour, mostly because being honest we really need the activity and it's a massive boost in publicity terms. In-forum games are fun, but if we're going to make this a full size competition then we want as many sites coming in as possible. I've been testing the waters at other sites, and I'm fairly confident we can get a number of teams playing if we set up early and push the publicity hard.

well can we start a threadc organising the teams then. I'm afraid I've lost my RTW disc, so until I have a search, count me out
