Well, that trailer sure can get someone pumped up to see it... I'm going to have to read the hobbit again though, I can't remember almost anything (What's the "MERP" they keep mentioning in the comments?)

@debux Pumped up for a film that looks nout like the hobbit. Bilbo is supposed to be a bit timid but badman in a secretive, sensible badman way. Looks to me like its a book which is not mega epicness turned into a film which is mega epicness. The non mega epicness is partly why I love the hobbit.

Perhaps "Middle earth role play", which was a mod for TES IV: Oblivion.
But I doubt that it has anything to do with this...

I suspect it'll be a good film, I don't know how much they'll get the feel of the book but I suspect I'll enjoy it anyway. To be fair they've probably gone for the most epic bits for the trailers just to get people more pumped up.
