It's okay... Not as good as the rest of the series though, apart from graphically better. The modding potential isnt much to write home about either.

It's actually surprisingly good for modding, apart from the lack of model editing.

To SotK: Well being graphically better than AoE 2 is hardly an achievement

Its nicer looking and the game mechanics and idea have been improved, furthermore, the campaign is fun, but it does get a bit boring after awhile.
