Exilian's Fantastic Adventure
« on: May 28, 2012, 10:47:16 PM »
Welcome one and all to this new semi-irregular feature I will be attempting to run. This is partly to keep me writing but mostly to entertain us.

The event I propose to you is a chose your own adventure kind thread with me as your guide the closest thing I can think of is the quest treads that /tg/ runs all the time.
So here we go, take a deep a deep breath.

You float through shadow, a sea of dark ichor that suffocates your whole body blocking your pores; stiffening your mouth and nose and scolding your eyes. You don’t know how long you’ve been here but it feels like it’s been hours.

Suddenly up ahead in the distance a glimmer of gold catches your attention.

So Exilian, as they say in the lower town, wat do?

So do we all take turns? If so that: I cautiously creep over to it to investigate.

I'll update tomorrow it's almost midnight.

Also the idea is to discuss your actions among yourselves but this is just that start so I'll take that for now.

Right I'm back let's go.

You push through the oily depths and discover the golden glint to in fact be a large brass doorknocker.

As you grip the knocker you hear very faint whispers that you can’t make out.
You swing with all your might and a metallic clang rings out as the knocker strikes some invisible surface, as this happens the whispers abruptly stop, and them start again even faster than before.

After a moment of what sounds like heated argument a door that was beyond your sight before swings open and a giant of clay stand on the precipice. His body is broad with sharp edges at the joints. The clay is a dark brown like the pots you sometimes see in the merchant’s quarter. He leans towards you and shouts.

“Who are you then? Come on, name out with it!”

"My name is Outis. I beg that you will suffer me to enter."

(For those who don't know, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outis - Odysseus used this with the Cyclops, so it seems a good name to pick for now).

Right let's do some character creation.

What kind of background do you want, are you rich or poor; did you have a loving family? What are you good at? What do you suck at?

Do you live on the coast or inland? Are you from the city, a village or are you a denizen of the woods?

I am limiting you to being human or elfish.

If you have any questions ask away I intend for this to take a few days so we’ve got plenty of time.

I want to keep with the Odyssey theme a bit, that could be fun.

Keep with the rogue with no known family, definitely from a small wooded island. Skills are quick wits, intellect, gift for poetry, excellent archery. Weaknesses... pride and lust for glory, not at all trusting.

My turn! Umm, I had more education in warfare than anything else, learning to fight with a bow as a weapon of choice. I was taught some general knowledge though. Mostly about history of the country. Always having a knack for leading.
