RIP Sir Terry Pratchett

Don't really have any words for this. Except one, I guess, which - though silly of me - a part of me would like to think he's hearing, somewhere.

"HELLO."
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

It seems we still have one book left to be released. It's going to be sad reading it :/

Very sad news, but inevitable, and perhaps not unexpected, given his health.

As one small tribute, I remembered something that Neil Gaiman said, in this article about the writing of their joint work, Good Omens. Gaiman had written a 5000-word draft; Pratchett read it and phoned Gaiman, offering to buy it, or to write it together.
"Write it together," I said, ... because that was the nearest I was ever going to get to Michaelangelo phoning to ask if I wanted to paint a ceiling with him.

I love this quote:

“Million-to-one chances...crop up nine times out of ten.” - Terry Pratchett

Terry Pratchett is full of great quotables.

XKCD has gone with an excellent quote from his Bromeliad trilogy, which is a wonderful set of books.

I re-read that series a few months ago and it's as fantastic today as it was when I was a child. *glowy feelings*

The simple fact that Bromeliads exist makes me happy.  :)
