Lady Grey

So named for the literary discussion group to which J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis belonged (minus the specifically Christian part :P )

I thought it'd be nice to have a thread for the authors/writers/poets/songwriters of Exilian to post and share ideas and inspiration, if they wanted to, and for anyone to read and comment on those ideas. :)

Anything, whether plot ideas, snippets of writing, or whole chapters are welcome, if people want to share them and would like opinions! :) (Though the whole chapters would probably like their own thread :P )

Jubal

Can we be the Inkilians instead?  :P

Well, I'm currently working on a short story which came to mind when I was talking to someone who writes for a student newspaper - it's a very short piece of science fiction, of the slightly creepy subverting-expectations variety.

I'm writing quite a bit more than I have done for a while at the moment. :)
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Lady Grey

I like Inkilians :D

Ooh, sounds interesting :) Will we be seeing some of it when it's done? :P

I'm currently trying to piece together a post-apocalyptic Steampunk- esque story, for which the ideas popped into my head while I was washing my hair (as they do). It's working out where it's going though xD

Othko97

I have this idea for a cool steampunky world thing with no actual plot or anything, but then the World Building Class stopped, so I started waiting for the next one :P

Edit: Just out of curiosity, what was the original name of this thread?

This was originally the Inklings thread, now the Inkilians thread :P

I will get back to the class eventually. I am a bad teacher. :/

Ah, makes sense now :P And I can see why, I'm bogged down with coursework at the moment (obviously being in Wales without much electronic access didn't help :P), it must be hell at Cambridge :/

Off Topic, but also could we get an actual emoticon for :/ It just looks dodgy when we have them for all the other faces  ;D

Well there's this one. ??? But the question mark ruins it a bit.

He is Jubal the modder, Jubal the wayfarer, Jubal the admin. And he has come to me now, at the turning of the tide.

Jubal

I feel this should be pinned. Pinned!

I finally wrote out the plot of a sci-fi story I've been planning recently. No time to write it, sadly. :/ The characters are pretty fun though.

Thinking of writing a sort of 'Skyrim Tale' for my current character, for Stories/AAR's? :)

Jubal

I would definitely be interested to see/read this :)

Posted an entry in my Skyrim tale! :D

Jubal

Yay :) I need to go read it now!

'Allo 'allo 'allo, what's all this then?

I was wondering if it would be acceptable to scribble down some homebrew fluff to flesh out the character and personal nature of a space marine chapter I put together for my warhammer dabblings - I can't make any promises regarding the quality or anything but I thought I'd ask if the Storytellers' Hall was appropriate for that?
I write many projects focused around RPGs and rules expansions!

If you'd like to support me you can buy (or download for free) my finished work from https://ko-fi.com/nanoteq_rpg or play-test them with me on my discord!

Jubal

Yeah, that'd be absolutely fine and good for posting here :) Or in the tabletop section, either is fine.
