HETAIROS

Hetairos is a tabletop RPG-boardgame set in the Greek underworld, for 4-6 players. Each player controls a hero - one of a range of character archetypes, with varied special abilities - and then sets out to achieve either a goal set for all the players, a goal set for a team, or an individual goal, depending on scenario. The basic play area is a squared map (roughly 2x2cm squares, usually starting about A2 but can be extended) that the players explore, filling and drawing in the new parts of the underworld as they are discovered. Hades is a land of mysterious shrines, deadly traps, isolated villages, and dread monsters - all this and more can be discovered as you travel the tunnel systems. Scenarios range from simply who can survive longest to group tasks such as building the great automaton Talos and protecting an NPC from the wrath of the terrifying Furies.

This forum will give more information about Hetairos and also provide rules, advice on playing pieces, and will also be a hub for continuing game development.

Unless Jubal uses the EA free to play model :/

Jubal

This is a boardgame, and frankly I don't have the infrastructure to try selling it. :P

I know, I know, but in game purchases with real money :O who wouldn't like that? :)

Cuddly Khan

Maybe you can sell and market it as a real board game that people can buy. :o

Again, not enough of a team to make that happen most likely.

Cuddly Khan

I know. :P It'd be pretty cool though.

Lack of a team's not the main issue, it's the structure of the game. The map size, the numbers of different kinds of piece, and so on are all very unpredictable in this ruleset, which makes for a game that's actually really difficult to create in saleable boxes etc.
