Silmarillion: Total War is a total conversion of Rome: Total War Alexander expansion, sets in the First Age of Beleriand, allowing the player to immerse into the War of the Silmarils. Play as one of the three Houses of the Edain, the Houses of the Noldor, the Sindar or another faction among the 20 playable. Recreate the legendary deeds of the First Age, or rewrite them. The mod aims to follow Tolkien's own vision and descriptions of his universe, so you won't see plate armors like in Peter Jackson's movies. The mod is a total conversion, so everything will be made to make you travel in the mythic world of Beleriand and Middle-earth, including new units, new graphics, new scripts & events, unique characters, new animations, custom cities and many more.

(Gabilgathol = Khuzdul name of Belegost, Tumunzahar = Khuzdul name of Nogrod, Gaurwaith =  'Wolf-Men' in Sindarin, they are Marauders & Outlaws)

Is the map actually going to extend far enough to get Moria on there? Also, when in the first age is the mod set?  :)

I shall be watching with interest - be good to see some more of the team here if you can persuade them over :D Particularly I'll be watching the stuff on the Dwarves, which are a specialism of mine (three journal essays published with a fourth in the works). If you need any advice on Dwarf-lore at all, ask and you shall receive far more than you needed :P

Also, your TWC link is broken.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Yes it will, in order to include the Kingdom of Khazad-dûm .

I've got this screen just for you, Jubal:

Fixed the link.

I love the stories in the Silmarillion. :)

Jubal

Also, do I need to give you moderator rights for this subforum Bercor?
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Bercor

Of course, I love to moderate.

comrade_general

Too late Joobal I just did that! It's my job! :P

Tom

Just wondering but where can I find some info regarding middle earth at this time?

Jubal

You could read the Silmarillion?  :P
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Jubal

Bear in mind that Wikia often gets things wrong on the detail, though the outline is generally right.

My predecessor as Steward of Gondor wrote a useful chronology in the CTS journal which you can get here if you want an overview:

The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

comrade_general

Understandable though. If you've read everything that Tolkien wrote on the subject, which I have  >:D, he would sometimes change details over the thousands of years that he continuously wrote and rewrote the works.

Jubal

Yeah - the issue isn't that so much as that the Wiki often includes either film details that have no basis or are contradicted by the books, or occasionally quotes secondary books that have made stuff up or introduced errors. But then I am something of a hawk on weak or baldy researched Tolkien scholarship.  :P

Bercor and Nelduin: could one of you write me some words for a frontpage post and PM them to me or CG? It would be good to have a front page announcement for Silmarillion TW coming to Exilian.   :)

Tom

Thanks Jubal and CG I kind of want to know about the lore before I play the mod :)
