Mordheim PC Game in the works

Fans of Games Workshop’s tabletop warband game Mordheim will be excited to learn that a video game adaptation is in the works from Focus Home Interactive, and it looks to be a near-perfect translation even up to and including elements like permadeath and limb loss.

The press release for the game – there’s no official site up yet, or trailer – explains that the game will include the iconic Mordheim factions including Skaven, Sisters of Sigmar, Possessed and more, and will replicate the turn-based strategy of the original game as well as the original looting and weapon-stealing system. A solo campaign and multiplayer modes will be available.

A release date is given as “Fall 2014″, so sometime around September – November for us here in the southern hemisphere.

I just hope GW don't relaunch Mordheim with new rules and kits as I know I wouldn't be able to resist

Doubt on the modding front, though they might go the way of bloodbowl which is have three versions of the same game but with later versions add more teams

I'm not so sure they will this time, it received fairly heavy backlash from fans as it was pretty much a bug fix patch plus a couple of new races per 'expansion'...Would have been so much better in DLC format imo.

Expansion is more likely to be the woodland variation (I have it but can't remember the name). I would think and hope that additional factions would be DLC and priced accordingly.
