Right now there isn't much to say, but they're definitely happening.  :)

My initial impression from that image is not a favourable one. Looks more Slaaneshi than Skaven.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Yes, lots of people seem to get that same impression...

However, that's favorable for me since I'm actually rocking a Slaaneshi WoC army. This could be my new Daemon prince. ;D

Yes, it could well be repurposed - but as a Skaven model, I don't like it.

I've noticed that the newer models seem to look as though they were inspired by World of Warcraft.
And I don't like that at all...

For example, Wood elves were a complete failure in my eyes... I was on the verge of buying an army, even got some old characters, a dark elf dragon, and then I saw those new models. Great quality, awful design if you ask me... Right now I'm on the lookout for the old metal Eternal guard (and I HATE metal figures).

The only recent thing I've liked were Nugle releases. They look suitably disgusting and scary. The rest of the releases was just mediocre.

Aaaand a bigger picture:

Looks like a monkey with too many horns and a Slaaneshi tail...
And it's as tall as Nagash model.

And they're out:
http://www.games-workshop.com/en-SE/Verminlords

Most of them look fine. Looks like the one on cover page just had a bad colour scheme.

Also, Thaquol and Boneripper:

The rider looks bit generic if you ask me, but nice overall.
The old Boneripper idea felt a bit cooler, too. Like an undead rat-thingy... This one sure looks menacing, but the old one was much creepier. ;D

And this looks like a new Gray seer:

I like the model. The face looks a bit goofy, but maybe it's just the paint job/bad angle.

Screaming bell and Plague furnace on oval bases...

Seems like rumours about 9th edition may be true.  :-\

I'm sorry, but that new Boneripper just looks extremely silly.

Not to mention that it has no claws. That's right, "boneripper"  may be able to singe your flesh off or whatever the cannons do, but that is not a creature that can, in fact, "rip" anything.

Well, you're right.
I didn't actually notice that all of his hands are cannons. :/

I like this style much more:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Quote
Thanquol often employs mutated rat-orge bodyguards for protection, each called Boneripper. The first was slain by Gotrek in the manse of Fritz von Halstadt in Nuln, the second by Felix , who threw a bomb down its throat in the Battle of the Lonely Tower. Recently, Clan Skryre gave Thanquol an important gift as a sign of reconciliation for past deeds. Clan Eshin warriors were hired to recover the body of Thanquol's first Rat Ogre, which had been on display in a freak show in Nuln. Clan Skyre reassembled the cadaver and reanimated it as a mindless machine at the order of Thanquol.

I like the mail mask and the collar on the new one, though.

And there's this:

It looks nice in general, but the armour is way too 40k for my taste.

It looks like a Skaven sign on the giant 40k shoulderpad of the chaingun model as well. Perhaps they'll be melded into existing 40k Chaos? Part of me wants to field a 40-skaven unit armed with lazguns xD
