USER GUIDE: CHANGING THE THEME

Some people find the light-on-dark colour scheme at Exilian tough to read; other people just don't like dark colour schemes, and others might just want a change of look. If you're in any of these boats, this guide is for you, as a quick run-down on how to change the colour scheme and theme of Exilian.

Firstly, you need to be logged in, and then you need to go to your profile link:
https://exilian.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile

You should see, on the left hand side of the screen, above the big blue bar that has "summary" written on it, three buttons - "profile info", "modify profile", and "actions". Roll your mouse over any of them and a drop-down menu will appear. Under "modify profile", the third option on the dropdown will be "look and layout". Click on this.

The first thing down will tell you which theme you are using! Next to it there will be a little link saying "(change)" - click on this and you'll get a list of themes. If you want to change to a lighter colour scheme, the option that works best is the "SMF Default Theme - Curve" which should usually be the second on the list. Click "use this theme" and you're done. You're welcome to try the other themes, but bear in mind that some of them aren't well suited to the board's structure and may look awful. Also, note that some parts of the forum may have their own themes separate from the default theme; these will usually override your personal theme preferences.

Hope that helps, and happy posting!
