No Man's Sky is now an actual fun and meaningful game as of update 1.3

I'm as surprised as anyone to be typing this sentence, but it's true

I bought NMS at launch and thought it was a fine 'screensaver simulator' but an ultimately poor game. Since update 1.3, I can now say confidently that this is an actual good game. It's so much improved and feels exactly like the game they should have launched in 2016

If you have written this game off (and justifiably so) then consider giving it another look

Wow, OK, yes, that's kind of an expansion pack scale update. Interesting! I should probably get it, it does look really good now... OTOH, time and money :/

So they finally implemented the features they promised on release? I guess better late than never. Does it also have a real multiplayer now? That would make me go back, honestly.

It does have multiplayer now, but its very basic. Played the update a few months back and it was indeed really good now, everything feels improved, they've added alot more explanation to objectives and what you can do rather than just letting you go. Also the new base building is cool, you can now even buy a massive freighter for a base and fly around selling items like a trader.
