Further successes include this story, in which a ranger stops a demon invasion by, uh, becoming Queen of Hell:
You are Esana, a ranger living in the kingdom of Larion. You have a hunting bow and a quiver of arrows. You spot the deer and are ready to finish your hunt when suddenly you hear a voice calling out to you from behind a tree.
"Hey! I saw you!"
It's an old man with white hair and beard who looks like he is about seventy years old. He wears ragged clothing that appears to be made of animal skins.
> Talk to the old man
"Who are you?" You ask.
"I am Elios, but most people call me 'The Old Man'. I live by myself in a small hut on the edge of the forest."
> "Why have you interrupted my hunt, Old Man?"
"Because I have come across two more of these things. They must be in great pain because they don't seem to want to leave this place."
> "What things? Show me."
Elios points to a large patch of trees near the center of the clearing.
> Look in the patch of trees
You see several creatures, some dead, some badly injured. One of them has a long scar running down its face. It seems to be alive though and it doesn't appear to be dying any time soon.
> Examine the creatures
They are very big, maybe ten feet tall or so. Their skin is covered with scars and their eyes are bloodshot. The one that you're looking at now is missing part of its right arm and both legs.
> Talk to the scarred creature
"This...this creature is called Roldan." Elios says.
"Roldan?" You ask.
"Yes, it was once a human warrior who served under King Arthur. After his death, he became cursed and turned into what he is now."
> Ask Roldan what happened to him
"He was killed by a demon named Dorna. She had been summoned to this world many times before, but she finally managed to take control of her full power here. When she did, she used him as a vessel for her own dark magic."
> "That sounds pretty bad. Someone ought to do something about that."
"Well, we can't just go kill all demons. We need to find out where they are coming from first."
> "And why does this concern me? I'm a ranger not a demon hunter."
"It concerns you because you're a good person trying to help others. A lot of people would do the same thing if they were in your situation."
> "Ugh, I hate having a conscience. Fine, what do I need to do to help?"
"We need to find out where they came from and then we need to get rid of them. We'll start by going back to the village and killing everyone there."
> "Uh, no we won't, that's where my family and all my friends live."
"Oh come on, don't be like that! They're the ones causing trouble!"
> "You're actually a demon, aren't you, Elios?"
"No, I'm not. But I know things about these creatures that you probably don't."
> "Tell me then, because I have very few other reasons to leave you alive right now."
"I suppose I could tell you, but it might give away our location."
> I threaten to shoot Elios with my bow unless he telle me what he knows
"Fine, but I'm telling you anyway. Now let's go."
> "No, tell me what you know, now."
"The demon lord who summoned Dorna is called Belial. He has a castle in the mountains west of here. The only way into it is through a portal to another plane of existence known as the Abyss. It's dangerous, but not impossible."
> "Where is the portal?"
"In the forest north of here, near the ruins of an ancient city. There's also a small clearing nearby that was once used for sacrifices to Dorna. I think it's best if we go there first so we can gather information before heading over to the portal."
> "And who is paying or coercing you into maiming ogres and trying to persuade people to burn down innocent villages?"
"My name isn't even on any list of potential demons. I just happen to be one of the few who has some knowledge about these creatures."
> "That doesn't explain why you just suggested killing an entire village of people."
"Belial is a powerful being. If we want to stop him, we need to do it now."
> Tie Elios to a tree
"Alright, alright, calm down. Let's get going."
> Leave Elios tied to the tree
"Well, I guess this means you're going to help us."
> "Bog off, Elios."
"Yeah, yeah. We'll see each other again soon."
> Go north to look for the ancient city
"I don't understand why you'd join a group like that."
> "Sounds like nonsense to me. Now why did you need me to come here?"
"Because we need someone with your skills to open up the portal. It's been sealed since long before Dorna came to power."
> "Why do we need to open this portal?"
"The portal is the key to stopping Belial from entering our world. The only way to close it would be by killing him. But then he might not be able to kill us either."
> "How will opening this portal stop Belial?"
"By destroying his realm of existence. By doing so, we can destroy all the evils within our own world as well."
> "Why are all your plans really grandiose, stupid, evil, or some mix of those?"
"It's because they're true! They're my plan!"
> Lock Elios in his room
"Fine, but if you want to stay here, you better keep quiet about what's going on."
> Bolt the door shut
"Alright, alright, I get it. You're pissed at me. Fine, let's just forget about this."
> Leave Elios and go elsewhere.
You walk through the halls of the castle, until you reach an underground area. There are two doors there, one leads into a large room full of stone tables and chairs where several elves sit around talking about various things. The other door opens to another hallway which goes deeper into the castle.
> Ask the elves what they are doing here
"We were supposed to meet up with the rest of our fellows who were assigned here, but they never showed up. We've been waiting for days now." One of them says.
> "Why is there a force of elves in hell?"
"That's what we think too. So what does this force of elves do? What do they actually do?"
> "You tell me."
"Well, we're part of a group called the Dark Order. We specialize in dark magic and necromancy. Our main goal is to bring back the dead to serve as minions for Belial."
> "Right, so you're evil elves"
"No, no, not that kind of elf. These are...creatures created by Belial himself."
> Shoot the necromancer elves
The elves fall from their seats, falling backwards onto the floor. Their bodies begin to twitch and contort as they scream out in pain. You fire three shots into each of them before turning your attention towards the remaining ones still standing.
> "WHERE IS THE PORTAL?"
"I don't know. It was supposed to be under my desk, but I took it off when I heard you coming."
> Shoot the elf#
You aim your weapon at the last surviving elf and fire. He falls backwards, hitting his head on the ground. As he lies dying, you hear him utter a single word: "Portal".
> Search for the portal
You search the room, looking for any hint of the portal. You find nothing, though you suspect that if you had searched further down the hallways, you would have found something. You then continue searching rooms and corridors until you come across a staircase leading upwards.
> Go up the staircase
You climb the stairs, heading upwards. The air becomes colder as you ascend, but you push through it anyway. When you reach the top of the stairwell, you see an open door on your right side. You walk forward to investigate it.
> Go through the door
You enter the room, finding yourself in a large library. Bookshelves line every wall, filled with books about all kinds of subjects. There are also several tables scattered around the room, where various people sit reading or working on some project.
> Ask the librarian where to find books about portals
"This way," she says, pointing to a certain section of the room.
> Ask the librarian why Hell has a library here.
"It's because there is one. A lot of demons live here, and they keep most of their knowledge in this place."
> Ask the librarian why she got the job of being the Librarian of Hell
"My father wanted me to study magic, so I joined the Royal Academy of the city-state of Nuro. After graduating, I worked as a clerk at the Academy for two years, after which time I was promoted to a position within the Ministry of Magic."
> "And how did you get from there to literal hell?"
"Well, I served in the war against the Dornans, and after we won, I became a member of the Hellknights. In fact, before I met you...I remember when you were born..."
> Ask the librarian how she remembers when I was born
The librarian looks over at you, smiling. She turns back to her book, and continues talking.
> Go and find the book on portals
You turn to look at the book, and begin to read. Suddenly, you feel a sharp pain run along your arm. You quickly grab a nearby table leg, and drop to the floor. As you lie there, bleeding profusely from your wound, you hear someone walking towards you.
> Look to see who the person is
You slowly turn your head, seeing a young man standing behind you. He wears black leather armor, holding a sword in his hands. His face is covered by a hooded cloak, and he holds the blade out in front of him.
> Stab him in the foot
You pull out your dagger, stabbing the man in the foot. The man lets out a yell, dropping his sword and falling backwards onto the ground. He grabs his foot, and begins limping away from you.
> Throw a dagger at him
You raise your hand, throwing a dagger at the man. It hits him square in the chest, knocking him off his feet. He falls backwards into a wall with a thud.
> Bandage my arm
You stand up, grabbing a bandage from the table. You wrap it around your arm, and continue reading.
> Read about where the Closed Portal is in Hell.
A portal opens up in the middle of the room, leading to a large circular chamber filled with flames. A large, red door stands in the center of the room, closed shut.
> Look for help in the library
You walk forward, looking through the doorway. There sits a woman dressed in white robes. Her long hair flows down her shoulders, framing her face. She smiles at you as she walks past you.
> Ask the woman why she is in Hell
You approach the woman, asking her what she is doing here. She tells you that she has been sent here by the king himself. He says that he needs your help in finding a way to close this portal.
> "Actually I'm trying to open the portal."
The woman looks surprised by your answer. She asks if you mean to tell her that you want to open the portal? You nod, and she nods back.
> Ask the woman if she is willing to help
You ask the woman if she will help you. She seems hesitant, but agrees to help you.
> Ask the woman how she got here from the King
You ask the woman how she got here from the King. She tells you that she was sent here by one of his advisors, who had an idea that the king would like to see you.
> Ask if the advisor was called Elios
You ask if the advisor was called Elios. The woman looks confused, and then nods.
> Tell the woman that Elios is an asshole.
You tell the woman that Elios is an idiot. She looks shocked, and then nods again.
> Ask the woman what her name is
You ask the woman her name. She tells you that it's Esana, which makes you smile.
> "We can't go about both having the same name. What's your surname?"
You ask if there is anything else you need to know before we begin. The woman looks surprised, and then nods once more.
> "What's your surname?"
You ask the woman for her surname. She tells you that it's Ligru, which makes you frown.
> "Come along, Miss Ligru. Or are you married?"
You say "Come along, Miss Ligru. Or are you married?". The woman smiles at this remark, and nods once more.
> "As in you are married?"
You say "As in you are married?", and the woman says yes. This surprises you, as she doesn't seem to be a virgin or anything like that.
> "Then come along Mrs Ligru, I guess."
You say "Then come along Mrs Ligru, I guess". The woman seems pleased with this response, and nods once more.
> Go through the portal to the flaming circular room
You enter the flaming circular room. There is a large table covered with various food items on it. A man sits behind the table, wearing a long white robe, holding a staff in his hands.
> Ask Mrs Ligru what skills she has
You ask Mrs Ligru what skills she has. She tells you that she's a healer, but also knows how to use a sword and dagger.
> Tell Mrs. Ligru to heal my arm
You tell Mrs. Ligru to heal your injured arm. She does so immediately, and you feel much better afterwards.
> Shout at the man in the white robe
You shout at the man in the white robe, who just stares back at you. He raises an eyebrow when he sees you do this, and then turns away from you and begins eating some food.
> "I'm here to destroy Hell. Are you going to get in my way or not?"
You say "I'm here to destroy Hell. Are you going to get in my way or not?" The man looks up at you, and shrugs.
> "Works for me. Where's the portal?"
You say "Works for me. Where's the portal?" The man points to a nearby wall, which is covered by runes and symbols. You look around, and see no other entrances to this place.
> Tell Mrs. Ligru to activate the runes and open the portal
You tell Mrs. Ligru to activate the runes and open the portal. She complies, and opens it up.
> Look through the portal
You look through the portal, and find yourself standing in a large circular chamber, lit by torches placed all over the walls. On one side of the room stands a huge statue of a dragon, its mouth wide open as if spewing fire.
> Ask the robed man about the dragon statue
You ask the robed man where the dragon statue is. He tells you that it was made by his ancestors thousands of years ago, before they were enslaved by the dragons. They carved it out of a giant rock, and now it serves as their symbol of freedom.
> Ask the robed man who his ancestors were
You ask the robed man who his ancestors were. He tells you that his father was a blacksmith, and that he himself worked on ships during the time of King Arthur.
> Ask the robed man why he is eating food in Hell
You ask the robed man why he is eating food in Hell. He tells you that he has been there many times, and it is delicious.
> Go through the portal and look at the dragon statue
You go through the portal, and look at the dragon statue. It seems to be made of stone, with scales that seem to move in slow motion. There is also a long tongue coming out of its mouth, which drips blood onto your hand every few seconds.
> Ask Mrs. Ligru about the blood
You ask Mrs. Ligru about the blood. She says she doesn't know what it is, but she knows it tastes horrible!
> Ask Mrs. Ligru why she was drinking the weird magical hell blood in the first place
You ask Mrs. Ligru why she was drinking the weird magical hell blood in the first place. She explains that her family used to drink it when they were slaves, and they would get so drunk that they couldn't walk straight or even sit down properly for days afterwards!
> Kick the statue in frustration at everything
You kick the statue in frustration at everything. The pain from your broken leg causes you to fall backwards into a wall, breaking several bones along the way.
> Tell Mrs. Ligru to heal me again
You tell Mrs. Ligru to heal you again. She does so, and you feel much better immediately.
> Look around for some dragons
You look around for any dragons, but find nothing. You then wonder if you should try to fly away, since you can't stand up anymore.
> Go back through the portal to Hell.
You go back through the portal to Hell. You see that the portal is closed, and you hear an angry voice saying "I told you not to come here!"
> "No you didn't. Who are you anyway?"
You say "No one I suppose."
> Look for the voice
You look for the voice, but don't find it. You think about how this whole experience has been pretty pointless.
> Punch through the wall, getting Mrs. Ligru to fix bones every time I break them
You punch through the wall, getting Mrs. Ligru to fix bones every time I break them.
> Break a hole in the wall
You break a hole in the wall, which causes Mrs. Ligru to laugh loudly as she walks out of the room laughing like a mad woman.
> Look around this area of Hell
You look around this area of Hell, but find no more demons or devils. The laughter continues...
> Tell Mrs. Ligru to be quiet.
You tell Mrs. Ligru to be quiet, and she complies.
> Walk somewhere
You walk somewhere, and find yourself at a table with several other people eating food and drinking wine. They all seem very happy though, so you decide to stay here for now.
> Ask the people why they are in hell
You ask the people why they are in hell, and most of them reply "Because we're sinners" or something similar. Some even claim that they were sent there by their god.
> "Where is Belial? I want to shoot him in the face."
You say "Belial? Where is Belial?" Everyone looks at each other, before answering "He's dead" or some variation on that theme. You then realize that you've made an idiot out of yourself and quickly change the subject.
> "Who killed Belial?"
You say "Who killed Belial?" and everyone looks at each other again. This time someone says "The Devil himself!"
> "OK, where's the Devil?"
You say "OK, where's the Devil?" and one person replies "In hell, silly." Another adds "And he's pissed off because his favorite goat got eaten by a giant spider."
> "WHERE IN HELL"
You say "WHERE IN HELL?!" and everyone looks at each other again. One person says "I don't know, but it involves lots of screaming and fire." Another adds "And I'm not making any of those noises either."
> Leave the people and continue on the journey
You leave the people behind and continue on your way. Eventually you come across a large group of demons who are dancing around a huge devil. He has long black hair, red lips, big teeth and wears a robe with gold trimming. He is also holding up two small children in his arms.
> Ask Mrs. Ligru if she thinks this is the devil, or merely a devil
You ask Mrs. Ligru if she thinks this is the devil, or simply a devil. She replies that she believes it is the latter, but adds that it could just as easily be a demon.
> Shout at the devil to put the small children down
You shout at the devil to put the children down, which he does immediately. You are about to attack him when you hear a voice from behind you: "What did you do?"
> Turn around to see who the voice is
You turn around to see who the voice is, and find yourself staring into the eyes of a woman dressed all in white. Her skin seems almost translucent, like glass, her hair is white as snow and her eyes seem to glow with an unnatural blue light.
> Ask her who she is
You ask her who she is, and she replies that she is the Queen of Hell.
> "I'm Esana, I'm here to destroy Hell. Sorry about that."
You say "I'm Esana, I'm here to destroy Hell. Sorry about that." She smiles and says "No need for apologies, my child. We're all friends here after all."
> Shoot the Queen of Hell in the face with my bow
You shoot the Queen of Hell in the face with your bow, killing her instantly.
> Shoot the giant devil in the eye with my bow
You shoot the giant devil in the eye with your bow, killing him too.
> Grab the small children and protect them from the demons
You grab the small children and protect them from the demons by placing one between you and the demons. The demons try to get closer to you, but they can't reach you now. They retreat back into their little world again.
> Shoot the demons as they retreat
You fire a bolt of lightning at the demons retreating back into their little world, hitting several of them and destroying many of them. The demons scream and flee back into their little world once more.
> Ask Mrs. Ligru why I can shoot lighning now
You ask Mrs. Ligru why you can shoot lightning now, and she tells you that it's because you've been blessed by the gods themselves!
> Tell Mrs. Ligru that the gods are assholes
You tell Mrs. Ligru that the gods are asses, and that they don't care about anything except making sure there's always someone else to take their place.
> Look at the dead Queen of Hell
You look at the dead Queen of Hell, and see that she was killed by an arrow shot through her heart. You feel sad for her death.
> Go to find The Devil
You walk away from the dead demon queen, and head towards the nearby forest where you hear some noise. You enter the forest, only to find yourself surrounded by a group of demons.
> Blast the demons with lightning
You blast the demons with lightning, killing all of them. You then proceed to kill the remaining demons who were hiding inside the trees.
> Keep searching for The Devil
You keep searching for The Devil, and eventually you find him hiding behind a tree. He smiles at you, and says "Hello friend."
> Shoot the Devil with my bow
You shoot the Devil with your bow, which causes him to fall off his branch and onto the ground below. He screams in pain, before he dies.
> Look to see if Hell is going to collapse now
You look up to see if Hell is going to collapse on itself, but it doesn't. Instead, you hear a voice say "Goodbye!" and suddenly everything goes black.
> Continue
You wake up in a room filled with candles, and you're wearing a robe. There's also a man standing next to you, who looks like Mr. Reynolds. He asks "Are you alright?"
> "Where am I, what happened to hell, and where is my bow?"
"I'm here, and I'm fine," you reply. "What happened to hell? Where is my bow?"
> Wait for his response
You wait patiently for Mr. Reynolds' response, but he never comes back out of his room. Eventually you decide to leave the room and head outside. When you do so, you notice that there's a hole in the sky, as well as a large crater in the ground.
> Look around for someone who knows where this is
You search around for anyone who might know where this is, but you don't find anything. Eventually you return home.
> Go back to the portal
You return to the portal, and you enter it again. This time however, you feel much more comfortable in it. It feels like home...
> Find some demons
You head back into the portal, and once again you find yourself in another world. This one is different though; instead of being a desert wasteland, it's a forested area. You can see trees everywhere, and all kinds of animals roam about freely.
> Talk to the animals
You walk through the forest, and eventually you come across an old woman sitting by a tree. She looks at you with her eyes wide open, and she says "Hello! Are you lost?"
> "I was expecting this to be Hell, so yes, a little bit"
The old woman smiles at your answer, and then she points to a nearby bush. "There's a small cave behind that bush," she says.
> Go to the cave
You follow the directions given to you by the old woman, and you quickly get inside the cave. Inside, you find a very dark place. The only light source is a candle hanging from the ceiling.
> Shout "explain why hell now has trees in"
You yell at the top of your lungs "Why does hell have trees in?"
> Leave the cave
You turn around and leave the cave, not wanting to stay here any longer than necessary. After walking a few minutes, you hear a voice call out "Hey! What're you doing? I thought we were supposed to be alone!"
> Look for the voice
You continue walking, and soon you reach a large rock formation. It looks like a giant skull, and on top of it sits a man dressed in black robes. He stares at you as if he wants to attack you, but he doesn't move or speak.
> Ask the man why Hell has changed so much after The Devil died.
You slowly approach the man, and you begin asking him questions. "What do you mean 'after' The Devil died?"
> "I shot him in the face. You didn't know?"
He nods his head, and says "Yes, I did not know."
> "What's your name?"
He tells you his name is "Dagden", and that he is a priest of the devil.
> Apologise for making Dagden unemployed
You apologize profusely for having made Dagden unemployed, and he thanks you.
> Ask Dagden how it is decided who rules Hell now.
You ask "How is it decided who rules Hell now?"
> Wait for Dagden to reply
You wait patiently for Dagden to reply, and eventually he replies "It's decided by the devil himself."
> "Who decides if the devil is dead?"
"The devil himself," Dagden answers.
> "Pretty bad system of government you have here."
"Quite," Dagden responds.
> "Well, looks like there's a vacancy going and I'm bored."
"Hmmm... well yes, but that doesn't mean we can't help you out."
> Proclaim myself Queen of Hell
You say "Queen of Hell!"
> Ask Dagden how I become Queen of Hell
You ask "How do I become Queen of Hell?"
> Wait for Dagden to reply
You wait patiently for Dagden to reply, and eventually he replies "By being the best hunter in the land."
> "Awesome. What do I need to shoot?"
"A good bow and arrow, some food and water, a cloak and a belt pouch full of coins."
> "Very funny. What animal must I kill?"
"Any big enough to eat with your sword or spear."
> Go and shoot some demonic deer
You take your bow and begin shooting at the demonic deer. The demon bears down on you, but you manage to dodge his attacks. As soon as you see him coming, you quickly draw your sword and stab the creature through its heart.
> Eat the demon meat
You finish off the demon meat by eating it. After finishing off the demon, you feel better about yourself.
> Call upon the demons of hell to serve me as my minions
You call forth the demons of hell to serve you. They all agree and come running towards you. You tell them what to do, they obey immediately.
> Tell the demons that there will be no more invading of innocent planes of existence, and that any who do will be severely punished
You tell the demons that now is not the time for such things, and that anyone who invades another plane of existence will be severely punished. They all cheer up instantly.
> Make Dagden my new High Priest
You make Dagden your new High Priest. He is very happy with this news, and says that he wants to build a temple to you near the village where he lives.
> Tell Dagden to find Mrs. Ligru and bring her here
You tell Dagden to find Mrs. Ligru and bring her here so she can become your wife. She agrees immediately, and you give her a ring made from the finest silver so she may wear it when they marry.
> Send a message to Elios to tell him that I'm now Queen of Hell and he's still an idiot.
You send a message to Elios telling him that I'm now Queen of Hell and he's still an idiot.
> Ask Mrs. Ligru if she has any other name she'd like to be called by
You ask Mrs. Ligru if she has any other name she would like to be called by. She tells you that it should just be 'Ligru' since that's how she was born, but you insist on calling her something else anyway.
> Go to bed with Ligru
You go to bed with Ligru. When you wake up, you discover that she had been sleeping naked under the covers.
> Kiss Ligru, celebrate victory as Queen of Hell, and win
You kiss Ligru, celebrate victory as Queen of Hell, and win.
> Victory!
You triumphantly return to the village where you live happily ever after... or at least until you die of old age.
- CONGRATULATIONS! YOU WIN! -
And getting it to produce this, which is pretty much a whole fantasy novel plot ready to go:
The Fabled Travels of Sir Orivand
Summary: A dragon-slayer with a useless royal overlord runs away to travel and the sea, but is ultimately drawn back to challenge his former master.
You are Orivand, a knight living in the kingdom of Larion. You have a steel longsword and a wooden shield. You are on a quest to defeat the evil dragon of Larion. You've heard he lives up at the north of the kingdom. You set on the path to defeat him and walk into a dark forest. As you enter the forest you see a large black dragon flying above it's lair. He looks angry and is glaring down at you.
"I'm here, I'm here!" You shout as loud as you can "Let's do this."
> Wait for the dragon
You sit there waiting for the dragon to come closer. You're not sure if he will or not but you need to be ready. The dragon flies over your head and lands on the ground beside you. He gives his usual growl before speaking "So, what brings you out here?"
> "I've been told I have to go and defeat you. You keep eating people's cows, Kharvarath. It's not on."
The dragon laughs "Well, I suppose that makes me feel better about my own life. But let's get down to business shall we? We both know you're stronger than I am so who knows how many times you'll win against me."
> "Give me a reason why I shouldn't slay you and be done with it."
The dragon shakes his head "No, no, I don't think so. Let's just take turns fighting each other until one of us falls."
> "As you wish."
The dragon smiles "Good choice. Now, let's begin."
> Attack the dragon
You charge forward swinging your sword and shield at the same time. The dragon swings his tail back and forth causing sparks to fly from your armor. You swing again, but this time you try to hit the dragon's legs instead of its tail.
> Stab at the dragon's knee
The dragon lets out a roar and leaps backwards. You quickly follow up by stabbing your sword through the dragon's knee. The dragon screams in pain and tries to run away, but you stop him with another thrust.
> "Now leave this land and never ever come back."
The dragon roars in anger and lunges towards you once more. This time however, you use your shield to block the blow. You then grab the dragon by his neck and throw him onto the ground. You pull out your dagger and plunge it into the dragon's chest killing him instantly.
> Cut off the dragon's head and take it
You stand up and slice open the dragon's head. You take a moment to admire your work before taking it home where you will display it proudly.
> Return home
You walk home as you hear the sounds of battle outside. You see two men holding swords battling it out. One is wearing a brown tunic while the other wears a red tunic. They seem to be evenly matched in strength and skill.
> Ask the men why they are fighting
"We are fighting for our lives! We need to end this now!" the man in the brown tunic says.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever," you reply.
"But what if we lose?" he continues.
"What do you mean? What else would we do?"
> Tell the men to stop fighting each other
"Enough! Stop fighting already! It's not going to help anyone and it isn't helping us either!"
> Tell the men to go to their homes and calm down
"Fine, fine. I'll go home and calm myself down. But you're coming with me."
> Refuse to go with the man
"No, no, I'm sorry. I just can't go with you. Let's go home together."
> Leave the two men
You turn around and walk away from them. You don't want to fight anymore. You know that you've lost and there is nothing left for you here on earth.
> Continue down the road
You continue walking down the road. Suddenly, you feel a pain run through your body. You look behind you and see a group of soldiers marching towards you. They aren't armed but they are heavily armored and ready to kill if necessary.
> Ask the soldiers what their business is
The soldiers stop their march and raise their weapons. "Sir, sir! We are here to escort you back to your home!" one soldier shouts.
> Tell the soldiers that I have no need of an escort
"I'm afraid we must insist on having an escort. Sir, please come with us."
> Ask the soldiers who sent them
"It was none other than the king himself, sir! He wishes to speak with you about something important."
> Show the soldiers the head of the Black Dragon Kharvarath.
"This is the head of the Black Dragon Kharvarath, sir. The king wants to talk to you about some important matter."
> Follow the soldiers
You follow the soldiers as they lead you through the streets of the city. Eventually, you reach a large castle which looks like it has been built into a hillside. A few guards stand outside watching over you while others enter and close all the doors except one leading inside.
> Enter the castle
You enter the castle and find yourself in a grand hall filled with people sitting at tables and chatting. There are several knights standing by, but they do not seem to be doing anything except staring at you.
> Ask to see the King
You approach a table where several nobles sit. One sits across from you and asks if he can help you. You nod and he motions for another person to take his place so that you may both sit together.
> Ask the noble where the King is]
"He's right over there, sir," the man says pointing to a spot near the far end of the room.
> Go to the King
You walk up to the nearest table and kneel down before the King. His face appears above a plate of food. He stares at you silently, then turns away from you and begins eating.
> Show the King the head of the Dragon.
You raise your hand and point to the head of the dragon. The King takes a bite out of his meal and swallows it whole. He wipes his mouth with a napkin and continues eating, but you notice that he is chewing slowly on each piece of food.
> Ask the King why he brought me here
"I want to tell you something, my son."
> "Say it, then."
"The Black Dragon Kharvarath was killed yesterday."
> "I know, I was there."
"Yes, you were there. That is why I brought you here today."
> "Do I get a reward for killing the dragon?"
"No, no reward. It was an honor to kill such a creature."
> "What do you want me to do now?"
"Go back home and tell your people what happened. They will be very upset, but they must accept that this is part of their duty as knights."
> "You're a terrible king, sire."
"That may be, but so am I."
> Leave the King's castle
You walk through the streets of the city and finally reach your house. You knock on the door. No answer comes immediately, but when you wait another few minutes, you hear a creaking sound inside.
> Enter my house
You open up the front door and find yourself standing in a large room filled with bookshelves, paintings, furniture and other items of interest. There is also a small fireplace burning in one corner of the room. A man stands behind you holding a staff in both hands.
> Turn to talk to the man
"Who are you?"
> "I am Sir Orivand, and this is my house. Who are you?"
"My name is Kivan, and I serve the great king."
> "You mean our King, or a different King who's actually great?"
"A different King, yes. But he has been neglecting his duties recently, and it is time someone took charge of things."
> "So what do you want me to do about your King's problems?"
"We need to take over the country."
> "Which country is it that you come from, Kivan?"
"The Kingdom of Larion, which lies south of the Empire."
> "So when you said you meant a different King, you were in fact lying."
"No, I was telling the truth. The problem is that we don't know if he will even listen to us."
> "Please go away, I killed a dragon yesterday and I would quite like to sleep."
"Very well, I shall go."
> Close the door
Kivan leaves your house and goes back to his own home. He walks into his study where he sits down at a desk and begins writing something on parchment. After several minutes, he turns around and looks at you again.
> Go upstairs in my house
You walk up the stairs and open the door to see a young woman standing there. She smiles at you as she holds her hand out for you to shake.
> Ask the young woman why she is in my house
"Hello, I'm Elana."
> Ask Elana why she is in my house
"I've heard all about your exploits, so I thought I'd come here to thank you for saving my life."
> Ask Elana how she got into my house
"My father told me to get some food before I left for the city."
> Tell Elana to go and get food from downstairs
Elana nods and heads off towards the kitchen. You hear a few footsteps coming down the stairs and then another set of footsteps going up them. Then you hear a voice calling out "Hey! What's going on?"
> Go to find Elana
You follow the sounds of Elana's footsteps and enter the kitchen. There stands a girl with short brown hair wearing a green tunic and carrying an axe. Her face shows no emotion, but you can tell by her eyes that she is very happy to see you.
> Ask the brown haired girl who she is
"I am Elana, I saved your life."
> "Why do I have two women called Elana in my house."
"It's not just one person, it's three people."
> "Do you have a middle name I can call you by? This will get confusing otherwise."
The girl looks around and nods.
> "What is your middle name?"
"Hilde."
> "Thank you. What did you save my life from, Hilde?"
"A giant troll!"
> "When was that?"
"About half an hour ago."
> "And where is the troll now?"
"He's in the backyard."
> "And have you seen Elana? Young woman, about your age, came downstairs to look for food?"
"Yes, she said she found some meat in the fridge."
> "Where is she now?"
"She went back upstairs."
> Call Elana from upstairs
Elana comes down the stairs with her hands full of bags. She smiles at you as she walks past you and then turns to go back up again.
> Go out to the backyard with Elana and Hilde
You walk towards the house with Elana and Hilde. The two girls follow behind you. They both stop when they reach the front door.
> Go out the back and see the troll
You walk into the backyard and find a troll standing there. He looks like he has been beaten badly, but still stands upright. It seems he doesn't even notice you walking by him.
> Ask the troll why he is here
The troll turns his head slightly to look at you and raises one eyebrow. He continues to stare straight ahead.
> Shout at the troll
You raise your voice at the troll.
> Ask Elana and Hilde if they have any idea how to speak to trolls.
You turn to Elana and Hilde who seem surprised that you would want to speak to them directly.
> Push the troll out of the yard
You push the troll out of the yard. The troll looks surprised and runs off into the woods.
> Go in the house again
You enter the house and find it empty. There is no sign of Elana or Hilde anywhere inside. You search the house for anything useful, but find nothing.
> Go to bedroom
You go to bed and fall asleep. When you wake up, you realize that it's morning already.
> Go downstairs
You go down the stairs and find that everything is still as usual.
> Look for Elana and Hilde
You continue searching the house and eventually find Hilde sleeping on the floor near some books. She does not appear to be hurt, but she is clearly upset about something.
> Ask Hilde why she is upset
You ask Hilde what happened and she tells you that her father has been killed by a troll. She says that she doesn't know where he went to, but she will try to find him herself.
> Tell Hilde I will help her find the troll
You tell Hilde that you will help her find the troll. She seems grateful and thanks you before falling back to sleep.
> Look for Elana
You follow Hilde upstairs and find her sitting at the table with a book open in front of her. She seems sadder than ever now, but she tells you that she knows where the troll is and that she wants to get revenge on it.
> Ask where the troll is
You ask where the troll is and Hilde tells you that it lives in a cave deep within the forest. It's name is Durge and she hopes that you can kill it.
> Go into the city with Hilde
You decide to accompany Hilde into the city. The two of you head towards the city together and soon arrive at the gates.
> Search for a horse
As you approach the gate, you see several guards standing outside. They don't seem very happy to see you either.
> Talk to the guards
The guards do not seem too pleased to see you either. One of them approaches you and asks if you are the one who came here from the village. He tells you that they were attacked by trolls and he was killed along with many others.
> Tell the soldiers that Hilde and I have come to defeat the troll Durge.
You tell the soldiers that Hilde and yourself have come to defeat Durge. They are surprised by your words, but agree to let you pass.
> Buy a horse
You buy a horse from an old man near the gate. He looks tired and asks you if you want to ride with him to his home. You accept and he takes you there.
> Ask the old man where the troll caves are
You ask the old man where the troll caves are and he tells you that they are hidden deep within the forest. He says that when Durge first appeared, it was only a few trolls, but as time went on more joined in to make up a formidable force.
> Ask Hilde if she is ready to fight the trolls
You ask Hilde if she is ready to fight the trolls and she agrees that she will help you. You both leave the guard and enter the city.
> Ride with Hilde to the forest
You ride with Hilde to the forest. She seems nervous about riding through the woods alone, so you take her hand and lead her out of sight of any patrolling guards. Soon after leaving the forest, you hear a loud noise in the distance and look back to see what caused it.
> Go back into the forest
You return to the forest and find that a large number of trolls have surrounded you. They attack quickly, but you manage to kill most of them before they can reach you. Some even try to escape, but you easily slay all those who attempt this feat.
> Ask Hilde to track the trolls back to their caves
You ask Hilde to track down the trolls' cave. She agrees, but says that she needs some time to prepare herself. You agree and continue on your way.
> Search the forest for help
You continue searching the forest for help. Eventually you spot a group of dwarves heading towards the area. The dwarves are obviously worried about you, but decide to head off into the forest anyway. You follow them and soon meet up with them.
> Ask the dwarves for help to defeat Durge.
You ask the dwarves for help to defeat Durge. They agree and tell you that they need a few days to gather supplies. They also say that they hope you survive this ordeal.
> Camp in the forest and wait for the dwarves
You camp in the forest and wait for the dwarves to arrive. After several days pass, you notice that the dwarves have not returned yet. You begin to worry again, but then you remember that they said they were going deeper into the mountains to gather materials for their journey.
> Ask Hilde if she has found the troll caves
You ask Hilde if she has found the troll caves. She nods and tells you that she did indeed. When you ask her how she knew, she explains that Durge told her everything while he was attacking one of the troll's lairs.
> Follow Hilde to the troll caves
You follow Hilde to the troll caves. She tells you that she had been tracking the creatures since she first heard rumors of them. While you do not know why Durge would tell her such things, you understand his motives: he wants her to be prepared should anything happen to him.
> Wait for Durge the Troll to appear
You wait for Durge the Troll to appear. He does eventually come out from his lair, which is just as well because you don't want to deal with him right now. As soon as he appears, you rush at him and start slashing away at his body.
> Stab at Durge's belly
You stab at Durge's belly. It seems like it hurts, but it doesn't seem to be doing any real damage. Durge notices your action and starts laughing maniacally.
> Call for Hilde to hit Durge with her axe
You call for Hilde to hit Durge with her axe. She complies immediately and hits him in the face with all her force. This causes him to fall backwards onto the ground, whereupon you finish him off by smashing his skull into mush.
> Burn Durge's body
You burn Durge's body. It takes a lot of energy, but you manage to get enough heat on him before he goes completely black.
> Hug Hilde and thank her for helping
You hug Hilde and thank her for helping. She smiles back at you and says that she hopes you will find what you're looking for. You nod in agreement.
> Enter the troll cave
You enter the troll cave. The place is much different than when you last saw it. There are many more trolls here, and they look very angry about something.
> Tell the Trolls that Durge is dead and they should leave.
You tell the Trolls that Durge is dead and they should leave. They seem to take this news better than you expected, so you decide to keep up the good work and continue your quest for revenge.
> Look around the cave for interesting items
You look around the cave for interesting items. You see some kind of strange device that looks like it could help you in your quest, but you aren't sure if you should try it out or not.
> Examine strange device
You examine the strange device. It has a number of small buttons on it, and you press one after another until you hear a buzzing sound coming from inside. After pressing each button, a light comes on above the device.
> Show the device to Hilde
You show the strange device to Hilde. She sees that it works, and tells you to go ahead and use it. You do so, and then you notice that there is now a bright light shining through the hole in the ceiling of the room.
> Look at the bright light
You look at the bright light. It seems to be emanating from somewhere within the cave, and you can't quite make out exactly where it is coming from, but you know that whatever it is, it isn't good.
> Step into the bright light
You step into the bright light. You feel an odd sensation as you do so, and you quickly realize that you've been standing in a glowing field of sunlight.
> Step out of the bright light
You step out of the bright light. You feel slightly nauseous, but you don't want to stay in there any longer than necessary anyway. You head back outside and walk over to the hole in the ceiling. As soon as you exit, all of your senses are assaulted by a horrible smell.
> Ask Hilde about the bright light
You ask Hilde about the bright light. She says she doesn't know anything about it, but she thinks that maybe you just got used to the smell of death. Either way, you're going to have to get used to it again soon, because you hear a loud noise in the distance.
> Look toward the loud noise
You look toward the loud noise. It sounds like a cannonball hitting something. The noise continues for several seconds before stopping completely, and then it gets louder again.
> Hide in the cave
You hide in the cave. You hear a few more shots fired off, and then silence. You wait patiently for several minutes, but nothing happens...
> Look at the light again
You look at the light once more. It's gone now, and you're left with only darkness. You try to move around, but find yourself unable to do so. This is probably due to the fact that you've lost all feeling in your legs and arms.
> Call to Hilde for help
You call to Hilde for help. She comes running down the stairs, and you tell her what happened. She runs up to the hole in the ceiling, and looks inside. There is no sign of anyone else in sight.
> Go deeper into the cave
You go deeper into the cave. After a couple hours of searching, you come across some sort of dark tunnel.
> Crawl down the tunnel with Hilde
You crawl down the tunnel with Hilde. Eventually, you reach a large room. In this room, there is a table covered in papers and books. On top of the table sits a man dressed in black robes with hooded eyes, holding a staff of some kind.
> Stand up again
You stand up again. You see that you can still move your limbs, but they aren't working properly anymore. You start to panic a bit, and begin to cry out for help.
> Ask the robed man where this place is
You ask the robed man where this place is. He tells you that he isn't sure himself, since he hasn't been here in quite some time. However, he does say that it leads to an underground lake filled with strange fish-things.
> Ask the robed man who he is
You ask the robed man who he is. He says that his name is Orivand, and that he was born in the city of Nuln. He also mentions that he has lived here most of his life, as well as being a member of the Order of the Dragon Knights.
> "That's my name too!"
You say "That's my name too!", and then turn to leave. The robed man asks if you want anything, but you decline, saying that you don't need any food or drink. He nods in agreement, and bids you goodbye before leaving the room.
> Ask robed man if he can heal my limbs
You ask the robed man if he can heal your limbs. He agrees, and begins to perform various minor procedures on them. As you recover from these operations, you wonder how much time has passed...
> Ask Hilde how long we have been down here
You ask Hilde how long we have been down here. She tells you that she doesn't know exactly, but she thinks it's only been about three days.
> Look at the papers and books on the table
You look at the papers and books on the table. They all seem to be medical journals and notes, though they're written in a language you've never seen before. It looks like it might be some sort of ancient Elven script, but you can't tell what any of it means just yet.
> Go to see the underground lake
You go to see the lake. There is no water anywhere else in sight, so you figure that whatever creature lives there must be able to create it themselves. When you get close enough, however, you find nothing but mud and sand.
> Look for the creatures in the mud
You look for the creatures in the mud. Nothing happens, and you decide not to bother looking again. You head back to your room, where you lie down on your bed and try to sleep.
> Search for an exit to the caves
You search for an exit to the caves. You think you've found one, but it turns out to be a dead end. You return to your room and lay down on your bed once more, hoping that you'll wake up soon.
> Ask Hilde what she thinks we should do.
You ask Hilde what she thinks we should do. She suggests that we follow the tracks of whoever lives down here, since it seems likely that someone could live down here, and that would probably lead us somewhere useful.
> Follow the tracks of the robed man
You follow the tracks of the robed man. Soon, you come across a large stone bridge over a river of mud. This is obviously where the robed man lived, as there are footprints leading away from this area towards his home.
> Cross the bridge
You cross the bridge. The mud is very soft, and you sink into it with ease. Your legs feel weak, but you manage to make it across the bridge.
> Look for a way out of the cave system
You look for a way out of the cave system. There isn't much space between you and the other side, so you decide to continue along the path that led you here. As you walk through the mud, you notice something strange: the mud has turned red! What does this mean?
> Keep going through the red mud
You keep walking through the red mud. Eventually, you reach a point where the mud is completely covered by rocks. At first glance, it doesn't appear to be anything special; however, when you step onto one of these rocks, it suddenly begins to rise up and reveal another passage.
> Hang onto the rock (and to Hilde)
You hang onto the rock and wait for Hilde to catch up. After waiting awhile, she comes back. "What's wrong?" you ask her.
> Go down the new passage
You go down the new passage. It leads you to a small chamber filled with plants and vines. On top of a pillar sits a woman, who looks at you expectantly. Her hair is dark brown, and her skin is pale.
> Ask the woman who she is
You ask the woman who she is. She says that she's called Nalia, and that she's been sent here to help you. "I'm not sure why I was chosen," she says, "but if you're willing to work together, then perhaps I can answer your questions."
> Ask Nalia what the plants and vines are
You ask Nalia what the plants and vines are. She tells you that they're all part of some sort of plant life-form known as a vine. They've grown around a tree, which is now broken off its base and lying on the ground nearby.
> Ask Nalia why these secret caves were made here
You ask Nalia why these secret caves were made here. She explains that the people who live in this place don't like anyone else coming near their homes, and that they'd rather die than let others enter their hidden places.
> Ask Nalia about the Order of the Dragon Knights
You ask Nalia about the Order of the Dragon Knights. She says that they're an order of knights who protect the people from monsters and other dangers. "But how do you know there aren't any dragons in this area?" you say.
> Ask Nalia why she was asked to help me
You ask Nalia why she was asked to help you. She explains that while she's happy to help someone in need, she has no idea what you want or where you're trying to go. However, if you agree to work together, then maybe she'll be able to tell you more...
> Agree to work with Nalia
You agree to work with Nalia. The next day, you meet her outside the cave entrance. Together, you walk inside the cave and find yourself in a large room filled with vines and plants. There are also several doors leading out of the room into different rooms and corridors.
> Ask Nalia what she wants me to do
You ask Nalia what she wants you to do. She tells you that she wants you to follow the corridor until it turns left, and then turn right again. From there, follow the corridor until it turns left again, and then turn right again.
> Follow Nalia's instructions and go through the corridors
You follow Nalia's directions and go through the corridors. Eventually, you come across a door marked 'Cave'. Inside the cave is a strange creature that looks very much like a dragon.
> Talk to the strange creature
You talk to the strange creature. It seems to be quite friendly, but doesn't seem to speak any words at all. When you try talking to it, however, it speaks back in a language you don't understand.
> Kneel before the strange creature
You kneel before the strange creature. As soon as you do so, it lets out a loud roar and flies towards you!
> Stay kneeling
You stay kneeling. After a few moments, the strange creature stops flying towards you and begins circling around you. It continues to stare at you for some time, seemingly waiting for something from you.
> Ask Hilde what she thinks I should do.
You ask Hilde what she thinks you should do. She tells you that you should approach the strange creature slowly and quietly, since it might attack if provoked.
> Approach the creature carefully
You approach the strange creature cautiously. Eventually, the strange creature lets out another loud roar and flies away from you.
> Go back to Nalia
You return to Nalia. She asks you if everything went well, and how you feel about working together with her. You tell her that it was fun while it lasted, but now its time for you two to part ways.
> Ask Nalia what the creature was
You ask Nalia what the creature was. She tells you that it was a dragon, which is actually correct. The strange creature has been killed by adventurers who were looking for dragons in the area.
> Ask Hilde what to do next
You ask Hilde what to do next. She tells you that she will head back home first, then you can decide whether or not to continue your journey together.
> Follow Hilde home
You follow Hilde home. After a couple hours, you arrive at her house. You enter the door and find yourself inside a normal house with no sign of monsters lurking nearby.
> Ask Hilde about her family
You ask Hilde about her family. She tells you that her father works as a blacksmith and lives with his mother and younger sister in the village of Ralok. Her older brother is an adventurer, though he doesn't live here anymore.
> Give Hilde flowers
You give Hilde a bunch of flowers. She thanks you and says that she'll be on her way.
> Ask Hilde to come on an adventure
You ask Hilde to come on an adventure with you. She agrees, so you both set off on an adventure.
> Go to the coast
You go to the coast. On the way there, you see a large ship sailing towards shore. It looks like it's going to crash into something, so you run over to try and stop it before it does.
> Call to the large ship
You call to the large ship, hoping that it will turn around and sail away from shore. Unfortunately, nothing happens. You wonder why this hasn't happened yet...
> Shout at the ship
You shout at the ship, but nothing happens. You wonder if this isn't some sort of magic trick or spell.
> Wait for the ship to hit the shore
You wait for the ship to land on the beach. When it finally does, you rush out onto the sand and watch as it sinks beneath the waves. The water level rises up again soon after, leaving you stranded on shore once more.
> Ask Hilde about the ship
You ask Hilde what happened to the ship. She explains that they crashed into a rock face and were crushed by the weight of the rocks below them. Fortunately, they managed to swim away from their sinking vessel, but not before being washed ashore.
> Ask Hilde where the nearest port is
You ask Hilde where the nearest port is. She points to a small island just off shore. You decide to head there first, since you're still feeling rather seasick.
> Go to the port
You arrive at the port. There are several people milling about here and there, but you manage to find a seat near one of the larger buildings. A few men walk past you carrying barrels filled with crates, which they then put down outside the building.
> Ask the men what this town is called
You ask the men who this town is called. They point to a man standing nearby. He turns his back on you and walks away from you, ignoring your question. You feel slightly annoyed by this, but don't say anything about it.
> Ask the man what the town is called.
You ask the man what the town is called. He tells you that it's called "The Great Port". You tell him that sounds pretty cool, but he doesn't seem very enthusiastic about telling you its name.
> Look for a ship leaving Larion
You look for a ship leaving Larion. You see several other ships heading towards the coast, so you figure that most likely there must be a ship going to Larion too.
> Look for a captain
You look for a captain. You find none, though you do spot a young man sitting on top of an old boat with another man watching over him. You approach the two men and ask if they know where any captains might be located.
> Ask the two men if they are sailing to any other country
You ask the two men if they are sailing to any other country. One of them says no, while the other answers yes. You explain that you would like to sail with them to someplace new, but that you'd prefer someone who knows how to navigate than anyone else.
> Ask them where they will sail to next
You ask the two men where they will sail to next. The older man replies that he'll probably be sailing northwards, and that he hopes to reach a place called "The Land of Fire" by the time he reaches it.
> Ask about the Land of Fire
You ask about the Land of Fire. The younger man says that he has never heard of such a place before, but that he does hope to reach it someday.
> Ask the two men their names
You ask the two men if they're named after something or someone in particular. They both reply that they aren't, though the older man says that he likes to think of himself as "Oriv", which means "Lord" in his native tongue.
> Board Oriv's ship with Hilde
You board Oriv's ship with Hilde. As soon as you step aboard, she begins to cry uncontrollably. She begs you not to leave her again, saying that she wants to stay here forever.
> Hug Hilde
You hug Hilde tightly. She cries harder, but holds it together better this time around.
> Tell Hilde that we can find a better life in the Land of Fire
You tell Hilde that we can find a better life in the Land of Fire.
> Set sail on Oriv's ship
You set sail on Oriv's ship. After a few days of sailing, you come across a small island off the coast of the continent. It is inhabited by people who speak a language similar to your own, but much more complex and sophisticated than anything you've ever encountered before.
> Ask the people if they know where the Land of Fire is
You ask the people if they know where the Land of Fire is. They say that they don't, but that there must be a way to get there from here. They point out several islands in the area, all of which seem to lead towards the same destination.
> Go to the islands
You go to the islands. There are three: one is inhabited by an old woman who speaks very little English; another is occupied by a group of dwarves, who speak only dwarvish; and the last one belongs to some sort of race of humanoids called "the People".
> Ask Hilde if she speaks dwarvish
You ask Hilde if she speaks dwarvish. She replies that she doesn't understand any of what anyone else is saying, but that she hopes you'll find a way to make it through this place alive.
> Look at the People
You look at the People. They appear to be humanoid creatures with large heads and small bodies, wearing clothing made entirely of cloth. Their skin appears to be a light blue colour, but their hair seems to be black, as well as their eyes.
> Ask the People about the Land of Fire
You ask the People about the Land of Fire. The People reply that they do not know anything about it, but that it lies far away from this world. They also say that they have never seen such beings before, nor do they think they will ever see them again.
> Ask the People about the dwarves
You ask the People about the dwarves. They reply that they are a race of humans, who live deep underground. They explain that they were once peaceful inhabitants of this world, until something happened thousands of years ago...
> Ask what happened
You ask the People about what happened. They say that the dwarves began to fight amongst themselves over control of a small mountain range nearby. This conflict was eventually resolved peacefully, but when the mountain range disappeared beneath the earth, many dwarves lost their homes and everything they had built for centuries.
> Ask the People if any of them speak dwarvish
You ask the People if any of them speak dwarvish. They respond that none of them can, although they hope you'll find a way to get back home.
> Tell the People that we have no home
You tell the People that we have no home. They try to console you, but they cannot help much more than you can. They offer to take you back to their village, but you decline this offer.
> Set sail again, and go out to the open sea
You set sail again, and head towards the open sea.
> Keep sailing
You keep sailing, and soon reach the open ocean. You are exhausted by now, but you continue on anyway.
> Look for the Land of Fire
You look for the Land of Fire. It is very hard to find, because there are so few of these places left. There are only a handful of islands and rocks in all the oceans around the world, and most of those are too rocky or too isolated to support life anymore.
> Ask Oriv if this ship has a name
You ask Oriv if this ship has a name. He says yes, but he doesn't want anyone else to use it. You don't like his answer, so you refuse to call him "Oriv" anymore.
> Tell the old man that this ship will now be called the Prydwen
You tell the old man that this ship will now be called the Prydwen. He seems pleased with your decision, and thanks you profusely for saving his life.
> Look for somewhere to land the ship
You look for somewhere to land the ship. The nearest place you can think of is the island of Sotak, which lies off the coast of the Land of Fire. It's not quite as big as Larion, but it still has plenty of room to land your ship.
> Keep sailing towards Sotak
You keep sailing towards Sotak. Soon, you arrive at the island of Sotak. The people there welcome you warmly, and give you a small hut to stay in while you explore the island.
> Look around Sotak
You look around Sotak. This is an interesting island, but it looks empty. You decide to camp here until nightfall, when you'll return to explore further into the jungle.
> Look at the hut
You look at the hut. You wonder what kind of person lives inside it...
> Talk to the Sotakian people
You talk to the Sotakian people. They seem friendly enough, and they point out some things about their island that interest you. One of them tells you that there used to be many more trees on this island, before humans arrived.
> Ask the Sotakians if they have any problems
You ask the Sotakians if they have any problems. They say no, but then one of them suddenly gets very angry and starts shouting at you angrily!
> Ask the angry man what his problem is
You ask the angry man what his problem is. He shouts back at you angrily, saying that you're going to die soon anyway! You walk away from him and head towards the shoreline of Sotak Island.
> Look towards the Land of Fire
You look towards the Land of Fire. There is a large fire burning right next to the shoreline, so you decide to go check it out.

> Look around for dangers
You look around for dangers. You notice that there aren't too many animals or monsters here, though there are some strange looking trees and plants.

> "Like a fire demon? Or a volcano? Or just a lot of arson attacks?"

> Ask the tree how it survived the fire

> Go into the wooden fort

> Ask why the whole island keeps getting burned and all the people left
You ask why the entire island keeps getting burnt and all the people left. He explains that it's because of a curse placed on them by their god, who wanted to punish them for being evil. The only way to break this curse is to kill every single person on the island.
> Ask Nolazir if there is no other way to break the curse
