Awesome stuff! Welcome to Exilian, I look forward to seeing more!

The concept art looks good - I see it's a sort of very late medieval style/aesthetic?

Do you have much idea yet on what the mechanics will be like?
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Yes, late medieval with fantasy elements mixed in.

On paper all mechanics are planned out.
I find it difficult to talk much about the stuff that only exists on paper in the devlogs though, needs something to show in action.

In-game only the dialogue mechanics exist right now.
They'll most likely be a major topic in the next devlog.

You had me at "inspired by Gothic I and II" I, love the crap out of those games. Wish Gothic 3 lived up to them, it had so much potential.

Yes! We're currently preparing the content for the next Devlog.
The only problem with that is, that one part of it is 3D characters and animation.
Which is some of the most complex and time consuming stuff in game dev.
So unfortunately the content is taking its sweet, sweet time.
The updside of that is, that there will be lots of cool stuff to show in the next Devlog!

In the future I'm thinking of switching to posting more relatively quick to post GIFs here and on Reddit etc.
Since they actually seem to gain more engagement than the carefully and time-consumingly produced Devlogs.

I think that makes sense, and fits with my experience across indie games - devlogs can be interesting, but usually I think they only gain traction when there's a wider take-away (say if you're effectively demonstrating a particular design technique that other devs want to know about). And then even that audience is split because there are some people who won't read long-form written content and some people who won't watch long-form videos, so you cut out more audience too that way, so for engagement generation I can see that GIFs and shorter snippets may be the way to go.

I'm looking forward to seeing more anyway, whenever it comes :)
