Played a game with The Seamstress and three other friends yesterday - it was quite successful :)

We played the scenario Songs of the Muses, which required us to find and play several songs, crafting instruments and finding song scrolls in different parts of the underworld. Our party was two Krenaias, one Centaur, one Amazon, and one Philosopher.

We won reasonably easily but I think we rolled a relatively kind map - that said, our Centaur player nearly died (down to 1hp against a hydra then ran away). I wonder if I should reduce the action points for some of the big monsters a bit, or reduce how many they can use for combat specifically, just in that it's rough if they can simply roll a player flat. I could even limit combat action points for everyone e.g. by setting a limit of three attack moves per turn for all player characters and monsters, which would reduce the chance of players getting flattened before they can react.

Access to healing is an interesting problem. I think in this case, our high number of healers plus rolling two healing springs helped us a lot, but that's partly because we didn't get too many spawn lairs near the springs - being continually harassed by enemies when you're trying to heal would make things harder.

I'm also wondering if I can streamline the rules for certain squares at all: the shrines, libraries, forges and settlements in particular have quite big dumps of their own rules, and I don't want to remove that but I would quite like it if I could find better ways of getting it across quickly for when there isn't the game's designer there going "oh and those bits probably aren't relevant now" etc.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

The Seamstress

Being one of the aforementioned Krenaias, I can confirm it was quite fun, albeit a bit confusing for me as I'm fairly new to these types of games. I think I will need to study the rules again, is the rulebook on here the final version?

The rulebook here is old but 85% of the content will be the same as what we were playing with including all the core rules. And I can happily send you the updated version when I get round to doing the next set of edits :)

OK, thanks! (And yes, please do send me the new version when it's ready.)
