We're having more giant vegetables! I like this one, nice colour and shape.

I'm currently trying to get as many steam achievements done as I can, so far I have 44 of 49! Yay!
Things are going well at the farm. I also completed a few quests for a mysterious guy called Mr. Qi, earning gems and trading them for some cool items.

I also own an ostrich now. She is LARGE. (Well, either she's really large or the cows and pigs are really small, or... Somehow nothing about the proportions of people, animals, and plants in this game would make sense in the real world, but let's just ignore that.) I like my ostrich. She does funny ostrich noises.

She is beauty, she is grace, she has a silly ostrich face

The Seamstress

Number of ostriches now: 3 (soon to be 4).

Jubal

Did you ever get your fourth ostrich?
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

I actually now have six of them (one is out of frame here).

But, more importantly, BUNNIES

I decided to start another game, so I can do the "We actually like capitalism here" run. Basically when you play the game you have two options: side with Joja Co., the supermarket where all that counts is money, or be community-oriented and side with the townspeople. Since there's a steam achievement for the Joja stuff, I want to try it!

I created a new character who is meant to be the opposite of my other one, I named her Ailuj (not very original, but so is she). Behold:

She's gonna be a model capitalist citizen. More cows! More milk! More moneys!!

This time I chose the so called hill-top farm, apparently you can be more mining-oriented here, so I'm curious to explore it.

Jubal

Oh no, laissez-faire economics beckons D:

The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

The Seamstress

Tbf nowadays I guess not even space is safe from capitalism... But yeah... to continue the Journal, I have now signed up to become a Joja Co. member. Apparently they're going to tear down the city's community centre. What have I dooone  :'(

Otherwise it's all fine. With the knowledge I gained in my previous playthrough, things are obviously much easier to plan ahead. Currently I'm saving up money to get a barn and some animals. I'm making a decent amount by selling wood & stones, the few crops I have, foraged stuff, and fish.

The Seamstress

Soo. Instead of the community centre, we now have this ugly Joja warehouse.

Community development happens via MONEY:

Fresh and cheap!

That's the Joja supermarket btw.

The capitalist farm cat is white and named Saruman (remember the other farm cat, the grey one? Called Gandalf? See what I did there?? Tee hee)
I have four cows, two goats, two sheep, one pig, and four chickens, all of which are making me richer every day. I also planted some fruit trees very early in the game. I have very few other crops though, since the animals are faster money. (My first cow was aptly named "Cash".)

The Seamstress

Minecarts, Bridge, and Greenhouse done. The game is easier this way but you miss out on the Cute Magical Beings and on all the Collecting Stuff fun. :(

Now I also have four ducks. And two dozen fruit trees. I love the fruit trees in this game, I don't know why.

The Seamstress

Well, that was fast. One in-game year has passed and I paid for all the community development things, getting me the steam achievement I wanted. Joja threw me a party.

And for all my efforts, they gifted me... a soda machine.

I'm kinda tempted to start another game now, just because I want to own a huge apple orchard.

The Seamstress

Okay, here we go. New farm, new me:

My goal this time is to become a sheep farmer and orchard owner. A girl can dream, right? (I will also have bunnies. Lots of bunnies.)
