Hello everyone. I've decided to create a thread about a universe I've been working with for a long time.
I decided to close and withdraw all my old works and create my world from scratch again.
So all other works (which i posted long time ago) are unsupported now.

Many know me as a modder for TW games and mapper for Generals (and some as a fan of "reminiscing about the past"), but my main work is literature. I've done many things in my life, but I've essentially never strayed from the literary path.
I created my first world while still a student at Moscow School 407. Back then, it was completely undeveloped, largely illogical, and consisted of just one planet. But I never gave up and continued working on it with all my might.
Now the setting has expanded to a serious level and represents, no more and no less, an entire galaxy with numerous races, civilizations, cultures, and, of course, threats to all life.

I can't call my universe entirely science fiction, although I often label it "sci-fi" on foreign platforms. It's more of a techno-fantasy, as high technology, robots, and aliens coexist quite comfortably with magic, known as Psi-art or Psionics. Among representatives of different races, there may be beings with or without psi-abilities. Moreover, psi-abilities can arise spontaneously, which is why many civilizations call them a Gift of the Gods.

---

So, it's the very end of the 26th century. But let's delve into the past a bit.
Humanity had long since united and reached the stars. After three World Wars and a severe nuclear conflict in the 21st century, the UN government adopted a resolution calling for Universal Unity "to prevent extinction." The organization gradually transformed into a unified state called the Earth Alliance. Humanity's rapid journey into space began. First, the Solar System was explored, and then, closer to the 21st century, the famous First Contact occurred.
Soon, the people of the Earth Alliance integrated into the Galactic Community, and by the 23rd century, the Coalition of Galactic States was founded, including Earth. People began to interact on equal terms with representatives of hundreds of races inhabiting the Milky Way.

However, the presence of a new "primate" race in the Coalition was not welcomed by everyone. Several civilizations were not thrilled with this development. An even more interesting discovery was that Earth's colonization was not the first in the galaxy by the Human race. For unknown reasons, certain races of the Milky Way were genetically very close to Humans. This indicated that Earthlings were not the original inhabitants of their planet. Some of these human races in the Galaxy recognized Earthlings as kin, but others considered the Solar System's inhabitants "degenerates" and "products of mutations." This played a cruel joke on the Earth Alliance in the future, nearly leading to conflict with several interstellar empires.

However, as part of the Coalition, the Earth Alliance enjoyed a certain protection from encroachment by other alien races. The Coalition was formed precisely to act together. On Earth, it is often called the Intergalactic UN, after an old organization that existed back in the Information Age.

In the 26th century, the Galactic Coalition faced a series of unprecedented threats.

One of the Coalition's races, the Nicomedians (or Nikha-Medi in their native language), is known to have a difficult history. In ancient times, their representatives nearly conquered the Milky Way, and many races were forced to unite to crush this threat. The Nicomedians became peaceful, much like the Japanese on Earth after 1945. However, terrorist groups persisted among the Nicomedians (Nikhi), calling for a return to imperial times. In the 26th century, extremist activity increased significantly. The Coalition and Nicomedia itself recognized the need for a fierce struggle against the "legacy of the Terrible Age."

The Elf'urr, also known as the Sidhe, one of the oldest races in the Galaxy, led the Coalition for a long time, but over time, began to give human-born individuals the opportunity to succeed as General Secretaries. This provoked opposition from various civilizations, for whom humans were considered "untrustworthy." However, many civilizations also have concerns about the Elf'urr themselves. For example, the Elf'urr call their state the "Empire That Has No End or Bound." They quietly colonize various star systems without notifying the Coalition, and later completely banned colonization by other peoples in the Andromeda Galaxy. These developments began to alienate many races not only from the Elf'urr but also from the Coalition itself.

The threat from the Gambrians, a race genetically related to humans but with genes from the extinct Bhor civilization, destroyed millennia before the Common Era, has grown. For many years, the Gambrans lived in various parts of the galaxy, including on the planet Nargon, where they had a large diaspora since ancient times. But by the end of the 26th century, activity arose among Gambran fanatics eager to restore their former glory. These extremists even managed to unite with their "colleagues" from Nicomedia in the face of a common threat—the Coalition. "Atur ash-Gambra" is the main slogan of these fanatics, meaning "The Fire of Gambra will consume all."
The difficulty lies in the fact that many Gambrans are prominent businessmen within the Coalition itself. They have long been integrated into the galactic community, and it can be very difficult to determine who is a fanatic and who is law-abiding. Terrorist attacks by Gambrans are virtually constant.

But that's not all.
One of the greatest threats to all life, not only in the Milky Way but throughout the universe, is the so-called Void Conclave. A mysterious race of unknown beings possessing incredible technology, known as the Void (or Madilim). According to legend, they invaded the galaxy around 15,000 BCE but suffered a crushing defeat. Intelligence reports indicate that by the late 26th century, their reconnaissance probes were able to penetrate many regions of the Milky Way.

Insectoid races, which hate the "soft-bodied, bipedal nothings" of the rest of the galaxy, actively collaborate with the Void Conclave. An insectoid race known as the Ara'Nii is known to somehow collaborate with the Void Conclave. Before the arrival of the Conclave's reconnaissance probes, massive attacks by Ara'Niya on several Coalition star systems occurred.
The Void are also apparently aided by an arthropod race known as the Ollussi. There is evidence that the Ollussi's ancestors once ruled part of the Milky Way until the Elf'urr drove them beyond the galaxy. Now, they are once again assembling fleets to reclaim their "ancestral domain."

Another terrifying threat is the inhabitants of the Black Hole Sector, known as the Barandokht. Their nature raises questions even among seasoned scientists. They are an inorganic race mentioned in hundreds of myths and legends. In mythology, they are known as "spirits," "djinn," or "demons."
The Barandokht feed on thermal and organic energy, which undoubtedly serves as their sustenance. The Coalition knows almost nothing about their organization, except that they live in black holes (in the event horizon regions) and attack random ships. However, as the 26th century progressed, reports of their organized attacks on Coalition ships and even individual colonies became increasingly common.

And yet, despite the threats, the Colonization of the Universe is proceeding at full speed. Thousands upon thousands of studies are being conducted. Extinct cultures are being actively studied.
Given the emerging threat of the Void and their potential allies, the Coalition has begun studying ancient sources of knowledge and technology. After all, extinct races, especially those destroyed in ancient wars, can offer many clues about how to combat new threats.
For example, the extinct Sovi'lar civilization, whose temples are scattered across the galaxy, mentioned the Void threat in their lore.

Races of the Milky Way

Humans

The main inhabitants of Earth. Form of government: democratic federal republic.
Species: primates, mammals.

Since the 21st century, humans have strived for unification. The United Nations was considered one of the first organizations to lay claim to pan-Earth unity. In the 22nd century, the Earth Alliance emerged, a unified state comprising all the states and peoples of Earth. Since the 23rd century, the Alliance has been a full-fledged part of the Galactic Coalition. Despite the discontent of certain races, humans have proven their right to be part of the new union. In the 26th century, the Earth state includes at least a hundred colonies in various regions of the Milky Way. The capital is planet Earth, and the key city, where the government is located, is Neo-Paris.
The head of state is the President, elected by direct vote.
The government is headed by the Prime Minister and the Great Parliament of the Earth Peoples.

Elf`Urr (Sidhe, Sinhalis)

An elven-like humanoid race from the planet Menehfer. Government: absolute monarchy.
Species: mammalian, sinhala-like.

One of the oldest civilizations in the Milky Way. An ancient and mysterious race of tall, beautiful creatures, resembling humans but distinguished by pointed ears, innate psionic abilities, stronger skeletal systems, speed, and reflexes.
Lifespan: 200-500 years.
They are also among the oldest inhabitants of the galaxy. According to legend, their ancestors coexisted with the extinct civilization of Sovi'Lar and divided their territories into several clusters.
In the Coalition, Sidhe often held senior leadership positions. Many admirals and military leaders of the coalition are of this race. The Elf'Urr call their Empire the Never-Ending Empire and control at least three million star systems, and that's only according to official data. Their technology is tens of thousands of years superior to human technology.
The head of state is the King of Kings (Neb'taui). Power is hereditary.
The auxiliary ruling body is the Council of Khripp'rs (Regents) and the Lodge of Star Seers (priests).

Spoiler
Elf`Urr has two interesting types of their race:

Dro`En (psionic potential - highest level)

Nephrusabek (dark-coloured elf`urr)

-----

Arthandirans

Species: Primate, mammalian.
Primary inhabitants of the planet Artandir Prime and the Aurvandil star sector.

Artandirians are the indigenous people of Artandir Prime. They descend from human ancestors who colonized the planet many millennia before the Common Era. Their primary language, Artandir, is very close to Earth Latin.
In ancient times, Artandir was the Galactic Empire, but around 1920 Earth reckoning, the Smaragd monarchy fell, giving way to the Republican Party. Artandirians were one of the races that favorably embraced the Earth Alliance and actively promoted it within the Coalition. Marriage between this race and humans is quite possible. Their technology is superior to that of Earth, thanks to their long-standing collaboration with the Elf-Urr Empire. Since the formation of the Coalition, Artandir has had its own government, but it reports directly to the Galactic Coalition Council.
The head of state is the President, elected by direct vote.
The government is also headed by the Artandir Prime Congress, headed by the Speaker.

#4
Amphorans

Species: Primate, mammalian.
The main inhabitants of the planet Amphora Primaris and many regions of the Nargon-Gozmanite sector.

Amphorans are a related race to humans, virtually indistinguishable from Homo sapiens. They are distantly related to the Gambrians. Perhaps the only difference between Amphorans and humans is their more robust build and the absence of individuals prone to obesity. Their women are renowned for their beauty, similar to that of the Elf'urr females.
Amphorans are the heirs of the ancient Amphora Empire, which controlled at least 30 star systems. They have their own language, more similar to Earth Sanskrit. This race, like the Artandir, is suitable for intermarriage with Earthlings.
Amphoran technology was long ago transferred to the Coalition. It is approximately one thousand years more advanced than Earth's. Amphora has many commanders serving in the Coalition's army and navy. The "blue blood" rule also prevails among them, meaning inequality between nobles and commoners.
Amphora has its own government, which reports to the Coalition Council.
The head of state is the Viceroy, a Coalition appointee. The government is headed by the Council of Elders (Consil-dil-sala-minti), who are elected from the ancient families of Amphora.

Incarnites

Species - primates, mammals.
Primary inhabitants of the Incarn-Dulgarn sector.

Incarnites are another race related to humans, inhabiting the Incarn-Dulgarn star sector, formerly part of the Artandir Empire. The Artandirs once conquered the Incarn Empire, subjugating its population. The Incarnites were assimilated, but retained some customs and traditions. A love of ancient tattoos persists among this race, with tattoos being applied from childhood.
Incarnites are among the most renowned shipbuilders in the galaxy. During the time of the Artandir Empire, they were renowned for crafting heavy vessels for it. Several shipbuilding concerns exist, headed by Incarnites.
Incarn-Dulgarn has no government of its own. They are governed by a protégé of the Coalition and Artandir. The major planets of Incarn and Dulgarn each have their own Procuratorial Assemblies, whose representatives are elected directly. They have long since ceased to have their own language, speaking Artandir.

Sfentirans

Species: Primate, mammalian.
Primary inhabitants of the Sfentir star system.

Sfentirians are a race related to the Gambrians and Amphorans. They share the same characteristics as the Amphorans. Women are renowned for their beauty, men are not prone to obesity, and their lifespan is 10 years longer than that of humans.
Sfentir was assimilated by the Artandir Empire in ancient times. Their state, known as Ricardil, was destroyed. Despite assimilation, the Sfentirians retained knowledge of their past, but remember it with respect and do not seek separation from the Coalition.
Sfentir has its own government, controlled by Artandir and the Coalition. Their main planet is ruled by a Governor.
The government, known as the Sfentir Council, is elected by direct elections from representatives of the local inhabitants.
Sfentirians love singing and dancing. There's even a special Sfentirian dance, considered their spiritual legacy since the reign of Ricardil.
The primary language of this race is Sfentirian, akin to Amphoranic.

Publa-di-Tramonto

Species - primates, mammals.
Primary inhabitants of the Cavinto, Beljamonte, Tramontina systems, and certain regions of the Far Worlds.
Government - variable

The Tramonto race is related to the Artandir and Amphorans. The women of this race are renowned for their rare facial beauty. They are often compared to Urrk elves.
The life expectancy of Tramonto is 10-20 years longer than that of humans.
The Tramonto have long been part of the Coalition, but their worlds maintain their own governments. For example, on Beljamonte, the head of state is the Doge. On Tramontina, there is a royal authority headed by a Council of Nobles, while on Cavinto, there is a kind of Signoria, similar to the Italian states of the Middle Ages on Earth. Most Tramonto states are aristocratic republics.
The primary language of this race is close to Artandir and Earth Latin. Tramontan culture embraces smiling and joy, even when there's no reason to. This race is often called the "cheerfulst and most talkative" in the galaxy. Sadness, however, is not considered acceptable, and an unprovoked lack of joy can be perceived as an insult.
Even when dying, Tramontans rejoice. Their culture doesn't have a gloomy afterlife. Passing from the mortal world is perceived as a transition to "better dimensions, where Absolute Light reigns."

Etterians (Etteriotoi)

Species: Primate, mammal.
Primary inhabitants of the Etteria star system. Government: absolute monarchy.

The Etterians are descendants of ancient human colonizers. Their state, known as the Kingdom of Etteria, has long been part of the Coalition. The ruling Haraldsson dynasty has long been considered loyal allies of the Elf'urr Empire.
Humans often compare Etterian culture to ancient Norse culture. Runic magic, belief in the World of Eternal Battle after death (Valhalla), and many names similar to Nordic ones—all this clearly suggests a possible kinship between this race and the Scandinavians of Earth. How exactly they came to Etteria is unclear. According to some sources, this was a pre-Earth colonization; according to others, it was a possible resettlement of some Vikings to the planet through the Portal Cataclysm, which occurred around 600 AD (according to Earth reckoning) (when up to 2,000 ships disappeared in some seas of planet Earth).
Etteria is ruled by the Great Konung. He is assisted by the Council of Rune Priests and the Jarltagg (Council of Great Jarls).
Despite its "medieval" nature, Etteria possesses a respectable level of technology and utilizes knowledge from the Elf-urrs, whom they call Alvas.

Filgornians

Species: Primate, mammalian.
Primary inhabitants of the Filgornum star system. Government: corporate dictatorship.

The Filgornum Primaris star system is a true paradise for cyberpunk enthusiasts.
The local inhabitants are descendants of humans, but thanks to technocracy and a love of cyber-engineering, they have long since transformed themselves into something resembling cyborgs. Filgornum is famous for its replicants and "surrogate products." The largest corporation, Filgorn Industries, controls the entire star system and its government. Therefore, these worlds are considered to be under the rule of a corporate dictatorship.
These companies actively sell their products to other worlds, particularly to various syndicates. The Coalition also uses the services of Filgornum Primaris. Many Filgornum robots, replicants, and unmanned constructs help Coalition forces contain numerous threats. At the same time, the Filgornum government plays a double game, often providing products to the criminal underworld, particularly Gambrian terrorist organizations, for a certain fee.
In the old days, the system was part of Artandir until its separation during the Smaragdian Fall. At that time, Filgornum declared independence. This union is not part of the Coalition, although there are corporate leaders who would like to join.
The primary language of the Filgornum is Artandir.

Halfalim (Khalfalim, Half-elf)

Species - primates, mammals, hybrids.
Products of intercourse between Elf-Urr and Humans

The Halfalim race is the result of frequent intermarriage between Elf-Urr and humans. This led to the creation of a new, distinct species, which received its name. The Halfalim are virtually unaccepted in human societies across the galaxy, considered mutants and "alien hybrids."
However, members of this race are very beautiful in appearance and bear many similarities to the Elf-Urr themselves. They live 50 to 100 years longer than their pure-blooded human relatives.
The Halfalim do not have a unified state. They are entirely subjects of the Elf-Urr Endless Empire. There is also the so-called Union of Joined Worlds, subordinate to the Elf-Urr. All the governments of these worlds enjoy a certain level of autonomy, but they cannot be considered independent. Each planet has its own viceroy, a representative of the Elf-Urr civilization.
Among the Halfalim, there are virtually no individuals who seek separation from the Empire. Many of this race serve in the Coalition's military and naval forces. However, due to their origins, the Halfalim are often assigned to regiments of these "hybrids."
The Halfalim speak Elf-Urr, but they actively study Artandir and Terran.

Neferirikars (Dwarves)

Species - mammals, primates
The main inhabitants of the Neferirikar star system. Their form of government is an absolute monarchy.

The Neferirikar are a dwarven-like race that has long collaborated with the leaders of the Elven-Urr Empire. They appear short, approximately 1.2 to 1.55 cm tall. They are stocky, long-bearded, and extremely resilient. Their physical strength is the envy of any human. These "dwarves" are known to have drilled their own planet to its core as early as 100,000 BC.
The lifespan of this race is up to 200 years.
In ancient times, Neferirikar waged war with the Elven-Urr Empire. In ancient tales, that period is referred to as the War of the Elves and the Dwarves. It is known that the Neferirikar king, Sirion Forkbeard, even managed to storm Menechfer. But at the last moment, the Elf-urr king agreed to a peace treaty with the "dwarven overlord." Over time, the Neferirikar became friends with the Elf-urr and forgot their old enmity.
Now these dwarven creatures are staunch allies of the Elf-urr Empire and full members of the Coalition. They are also known as skilled miners, mineral extractors, and machine builders. They are renowned for their heavy walking tanks, capable of crushing any stronghold. (The Elf-urr readily borrowed their siege engine technology.)
Neferikar merchants often form joint ventures with humans and representatives of other galaxy races. However, they are criticized for their greed and boundless love of precious stones.

Farruhs (Metamorphs)

Species: Farrukhoids, Metamorphs
The main inhabitants of the Farrukh dwarf galaxy. Their form of government is an absolute monarchy.

Farrukh is one of the oldest civilizations in the universe, at the level of Elf-Urr. They are neither mammals nor reptiles. They are classified as a separate species – Farrukhoids. Their true appearance is more human-like, but they are capable of changing their bodies at will (except for gender; they have both male and female forms). They also always have a glow in their eyes. This race is composed entirely of psi-gifted beings.
The Farrukh Empire lies far beyond the Milky Way in the region of the Farrukh dwarf galaxy. The portal there is located in the Kurosagi star system. The Empire is home not only to members of this race but also to their allies, such as the cat-like koskari, the quadrupedal tigris, and the olfises, who more closely resemble upright elephants.
The Farrukh are led by an Emperor or Empress (Farrukh'Van). The Council of Vans and High Dignitaries serves as a supporting body, carrying out the monarch's every command. Despite strict absolutism, no uprisings or discontent arise within the Empire. The Empire does not aspire to galactic dominance. The Farrukh actively participate in the galactic community and are part of the Coalition.

Gambrians (Bhor`aan)

Species - Primate, mammalian
The main inhabitants of the planets Nargon, Zarragen, Gozman, Daur, and Tikulti-Ninurta.

The Gambrians are a human race, but they also contain DNA from the ancient, extinct Bhor-Aan race. In ancient times, approximately 70,000 BCE, the humanoid Bhor race controlled a vast portion of the Milky Way. They called their empire the Almighty Dawn or the Prime Power. They conquered Earth. For 3,000 years, this planet served as the capital of their tyrannical empire. But soon, many races united against the Bhor and destroyed their empire. The Bhor-Aan race itself was partially exterminated. Others dispersed throughout the galaxy and even assimilated with the locals, especially humans. In the 25th millennium BCE, they attempted to rebuild their empire, but were again defeated.
Since then, the Gambrians have lived in the Azistan (Nargon) sector and on many worlds, such as Zarrageen and Tikulti-Ninurta. For a long time, they lacked their own state and were subject to various powers. After joining the Coalition, they quickly adapted to the new order. But many of them never forgot their "former power." Thus, the Gambrians are full of various terrorists and fanatics eager to regain control of the galaxy. Moreover, followers of Bhor have often emerged among major businessmen and magnates with trillions of dollars in wealth. The Gambrians have their own secret government, called the Council of Salminti (Council of Experts), and the leader of all the clans (pravlinti-dil-salminti). The Coalition has been trying unsuccessfully for years to eliminate the threat posed by the Council.
"Witchcraft" plays a special role in the old Gambran religion. They regard psionic abilities as a gift from God.

Nicomedians (Nikha)

Species - Mammalian, humanoid
The main inhabitants of the Nicomedia star system, known as Nikkha.
Government - elective monarchy.

Nicomedians, or Nikkha, are a humanoid race, but not related to humans. Their inhabitants can have multicolored skin, for example, blue, purple, yellow, green, and orange. Their pupil colors correspond.
They are faster and stronger than humans, have a heart in the middle of their body, a stomach on the left side, and yellowish blood. They are divided into two sexes.

Nicomedians are one of the oldest races in the Milky Way, its original inhabitants. It is known that in ancient times, during the heyday of their empire, colonial ships even reached Earth. They are believed to have brought the Romans the belief in the Two-Faced Creator God, or Janus. (Janus was initially the primary god of the Romans, but later became "lost" among others.)
In ancient times, Nicomedia was a cruel, tyrannical power, seeking control over the entire galaxy. But thanks to the efforts of several races, Nikha collapsed. Its government was forced to abandon its army and navy. Since then, the Nicomedians have been forbidden from maintaining their own naval squadron, and the Nikha Commonwealth has been protected from various threats by allies, including the Elf-Urr and the Draconians.
Today, the Nicomedians are a peaceful race. The Commonwealth (as the Nicomedian state is called) is a full-fledged part of the Coalition. But as in the case of Gambra, fanatics and admirers of the "great past" often bring unrest. The Nicomedian state is governed by a Vithin`Exotrorch (king), elected by the Council of Nikhi (the Aristocratic Lodge).

Nicomedians are spread throughout the galaxy. Several species are distinguished: the Natives (the sons and daughters of Nikhi, multicolored), the Felk-Tranii (pink-skinned), and the Sinn (blue-skinned). Despite restrictions, some Nicomedians serve in the Artandir fleet of the Coalition, and thus are permitted to possess weapons and their own warships. However, this requires Artandir citizenship and permission from the Coalition Agency.

#7
Kraskovites

Species - Primate, Mammalian
Inhabitants of the Kraskovo Star Sector and the former Duklja

A human race related to the Tramonto and Artandirs. They inhabit the Kraskovo star sectors and the regions of the former Duklja. They are descendants of the Dreskov and Duklja Empires, which existed tens of thousands of years before the Common Era. In the current era, the Kraskovites do not claim galactic dominance and are one of the common humanoid races of the Milky Way. Their culture and customs are largely similar to those of the Tramonto.
The planet Kraskovo has its own governing body - the Ruling Coven (subdivided into the Noble Coven and the Common Coven). The government reports to the Coalition of the Galaxy and maintains good relations with Artandir and the worlds of Tramonto. The language of this race resembles Old Italic and partly Old Slavic. The only drawback is that the Kraskovites have a negative attitude toward Earthlings and refuse to marry them due to their "mutations." For this reason, Earthlings prefer not to accept the Kraskovites into their territories.

Harkish-Kussar

Species - Primate, mammalian
Inhabitants of the Harkish-Kussar star sector, form of government - absolute monarchy

Kussars are not directly related to humans. This race descended from the Hekatonians, also known as the "Hundred-Handed Ones." In fact, these creatures have only two hands, and no more. This is due to their ability to tinker and multitask.
Lifespan - 30-40 years.
Kussars resemble humans in appearance and are also primates, but they do not share any strong similarities. Their internal systems differ, for example, in the arrangement of organs, two hearts, the absence of a gallbladder, the number of vertebrae, the structure of the brain, and so on. They also have gender, like humans, but here too there is a difference in the characteristics of the reproductive system. Pregnancy in females lasts no more than three months.
In the old days, the Harkish-Kussar Empire attempted to assert itself throughout the galaxy, but was suppressed by the Elf-Urr and their allies. Since then, the Kussar have harbored a grudge against their neighbors. The Kussar kings (Hattusili-Tabarn) still remember the Battle of Khaadesh, in which the Elf-urr inflicted severe losses on them.
This race does not belong to any alliances and remains confined to its own territories. Kussar officially considers the Coalition an enemy, although military action is infrequent. The Coalition Security Council rightly considers Kussars aggressive and warlike creatures for their penchant for piracy, their enslavement of women (Kussar families have up to 20-30 wives), and their penchant for hosting galactic underworld cells within their territories. Kussar is also known to be a secret ally of the Gambra cults in their fight against the Coalition and has a favorable attitude toward Nicomedian fanatics.
The state lacks sufficient technology and therefore prefers to employ mercenaries from other races.

Tarbalusts

Species - Primate, mammalian
Inhabitants of the planet Tarbo-Ultima, government - military-fascist dictatorship

Another race descended from humans or related to them. Tarbalusts resemble Homo sapiens, differing only in that they live primarily underground, are extremely ugly in appearance, and react poorly to light. Hence their nickname "gremlins." Despite comparisons with terrifying mythical dwarf monsters, Tarbalusts reach at least two meters in height and have a lifespan of 70-80 years.
In ancient times, this race attempted to conquer the Artandir Empire, using their representatives on various worlds. According to Tarbalust beliefs, they were created "to rule the galaxy for centuries." Artandir discovered the plot in time and destroyed their government on Tarbo-Ultima.
However, the descendants of the Tarbalusts are still active today. It is believed that their secret government, known as the Augurs, may have survived the ancient war. These creatures primarily work in mines or refineries. They have their own communities, controlled by the Coalition. But the Coalition itself still doesn't know how great the threat posed by the Augurs is or where exactly their shadowy leaders are hiding.
It is known that Tarbalusts cannot be in the light without protective goggles. However, in the dark, they can see as well as cheetahs.

Strai`ii (St`Rajii)

Species - Primate, mammalian
Inhabitants of the Strai Star Sector, government - military dictatorship

The Strai'ii are a gray-skinned humanoid race, likely related to humans, although they do not consider themselves to be. Over the long years of their existence on Elamite Prime, they mutated, becoming terrifying gray creatures, more reminiscent of mythical undead. They prefer to hide their faces behind helmets. Their skin has become much rougher and harder, almost reptilian. The Strai'ii have a lifespan similar to that of humans.
Their empire is isolated from the Coalition, as is Kussar. They once attempted to negotiate with other races in the galaxy, but thanks to the will of the Elf-Urr, they were never accepted into the galactic community. This is due to the Strai'ii's overly aggressive policy towards the so-called "lesser races." The Strai'ii Empire brazenly invaded the domain of another humanoid race, the Khukhnur-Zin, and destroyed their state by burning their planets from orbit. The Khukhnur became slaves to the Strai'ii.
Currently, the Empire is led by two people: Haltamtu (the king) and General-Bursage (the head of the army). Militarism is the fundamental doctrine of the Strai'ii state. Every citizen over the age of 11 is required to serve in the military.
The Strai'ii are known to be on friendly terms with Nicomedian fanatics and Gambrian radicals. Some bandits flee to the Empire to avoid prosecution.

Aranguto (Hominids)

Species - Primate, mammalian
Inhabitants of the worlds of Nineveh and the Arangut Sector, as well as numerous greenhouse worlds.
Government - Varying (no consensus)

The Aranguto race, according to many sources, was created by the Sovi'Lar supercivilization, which experimented with genetics. The Aranguto first appeared on greenhouse worlds. Outwardly, they resemble upright walking apes. Their intelligence is extremely low, and they are willing to obey anyone stronger than themselves.
Aranguto come in many different varieties and inhabit several dozen worlds. Some rise to serve in the Coalition army and even become residents of ecumenopolises. But such individuals are rare. Most Aranguto live in tribes or so-called "kingdoms," ruled by despotic and powerful leaders. Their technological level hasn't even reached the Middle Ages in millennia, remaining within the boundaries of early human antiquity, lacking philosophies or any democratic traits.
The Aranguto have numerous states of their own. The Coalition prefers to cooperate with them, and many of their leaders defect to its side. Unfortunately, the Coalition's enemies are also engaged in this, luring the Aranguto to their side.

Draconians and Kossatti

Species - Reptilians, Creepers
Inhabitants of the Kossatti Empire and the Draconian State.
Government - constitutional monarchy (Draco) and military dictatorship (Kossatti).

One of the famous and ancient civilizations of the Milky Way. They are divided into several superspecies: the Sarkontos Draconians and the Kossatti ("water dragons"). A race of upright reptilians with over 30 varieties (in addition to the superspecies). Also known as the Fire-Faced.
According to legend, they trace their origins to the Great Ancestor, the Father of Dragons, Sarkontos the Fiery. They worship Fire as the Supreme Energy (Kossatti - Water). They possess a significant level of technology, falling short only of the Elf-Urr. The Draconians of Sarkontos are renowned for their temperament, friendliness, and cooperation with various races, while the Kossatti, on the contrary, consider themselves privileged and shun representatives of other cultures. For tens of thousands of years, the Draconians and Kossatti have failed to unite into a single state. This is due to their differences, particularly the religious cult of Water, which is present in the Kossatti Empire.
Kossatti and the Draconians have long been full members of the Coalition. The Draconian Empire is headed by a Dragon Overlord (analogous to a king). Elements of democracy are also present, such as the Progenitor Council, divided into two chambers, which makes the most important decisions.
Kossatti, on the other hand, places a strong emphasis on militarism, as does Strai'i. This empire is led by the Council of Elders, consisting of the highest representatives of the aristocracy. The Cossatti were expelled from the Coalition numerous times for their contempt for other species and aggression, but each time they were reinstated at the behest of the Draconians.
It is also known that the Cossatti were among those who staunchly opposed the Earth Alliance's admission to the Coalition.

Barandoht (Jinn)

Species - Inorganic creatures
Inhabitants of black holes, and in particular the Lacrima star sector.
They do not have a unified government (living in tribal groups (clans))

The most mysterious of the races in the universe. In many myths and legends, they are known as efreets or djinns. They are considered demons in the folklore of many civilizations, including among human ancestors.
Legends speak of the existence of their tribal groups led by mukkaharibs (kings or caliphs) in the Black Hole region. The Barandokht are not organic creatures. However, they readily attack lost colonist ships and even individual colonies.
They can assume any form, possess machines and computers, and even living beings. They are capable of raising dead physical bodies and controlling them. Apparently, they feed on thermal and organic energy (according to other sources, souls).
The Barandokht primarily inhabit the Black Holes, particularly the unstable Lacrima sector in the far reaches of the Milky Way.
It is also known that detailed information about the Barandokht's origins and specific details about their spheres are completely classified by the Coalition government.
The Djinn have both female and male specimens. However, how they reproduce is unclear.

Gods (Seraphs, Planet Creators)

Superbeings who created the universe and filled it with life.
Government type – unknown.

In the mythologies and beliefs of many races in the Galaxy, various Gods, both Elder and Lesser, have existed since ancient times. In some cases, preference is given to a Single Creator who created the universe sixty-nine or even googol years before the Common Era.
There is no precise definition of who the Gods actually are. According to Elf'urr, the universe was not created by the Big Bang, but by the will of the Creators of Worlds. Legends say that the Planet Builders initially directly participated in the lives of the Firstborn, but over time stepped back, granting their children free will. Some races claimed the existence of a mysterious World of the Gods, Timelessness, or Godheim in the universe.

Harkides (Kharkids)

Species: Amphibians, amphibians. Inhabitants of the Kharkid star sector.
Government: Absolute monarchy.

The Kharkids are a race of intelligent amphibians from the planet Kharkid-5. Despite centuries of negotiations, they have failed to join the Coalition, although they actively cooperate with the Kossatti Empire and the Draconian Empire. Within the Coalition, they are often referred to as "ichthyanders."
Their lifestyle is very similar to that of the Kossatti. They live in underwater cities and on "complex" atolls. They are known to collaborate with the intelligent jellyfish-like Aa'Gg race, which inhabits their homeworld of Kharkid-5.
They have long exchanged technology with the Kossatti. A Kharkid fleet in space can often be confused with a Kossatti fleet. Both races flood their vessels to ensure comfortable living conditions. The Kharkids are wary of many races, including the Elf-urr. They have even attacked lost colonist ships.
The Kharkid civilization is led by the Great Oen (analogous to a king). A State Council assists in governance. The influence of the Water Priests is very strong, making the Kharkids culturally almost similar to the Kossatti.

Insectoid races

Aggressive insectoid creatures from various regions of the Milky Way, including the M33 galaxy.
Government forms vary.

Insectoids have long been aggressive toward other races. The most serious threat to the galactic community is considered to be the Ara'Nii, ruled by the Council of Queens and the mysterious Hive Queen. Insectoid invasions have often caused irreparable damage to colonial companies. It is because of this threat that colonists are sometimes protected by military vessels or ships of private security agencies. The Ara'Nii have varied appearances and resemble all known insects, including cockroaches. They utilize biotechnology. Each of their ships is a gigantic living creature or a product of organic matter. Their acidic weapons melt any armor. There are several species of insectoids, besides the Ara'Nia—the Berengars (giant hermaphroditic, caterpillar-like creatures) and the Birrissans (intelligent wasps from the planet Biriss-Due).
The only insectoids more or less loyal to the Coalition are the Xenovians, intelligent ant-like creatures known as robot builders. The Xenovian Consortium and its holdings have collaborated with the Coalition for several hundred years. The Consortium is governed by a Hive Council composed of representatives of the aristocracy.
Most races in the galaxy have long held a disdainful and hostile attitude toward any kind of insectoid.

Arthropod Races

Races of arthropods or crustaceans inhabiting various parts of the galaxy.
Government forms vary.

Arthropod races are also widespread throughout the universe. One example is the Ho'Nari. This state closely neighbors the N-Sai Solidarity and has long been a member of the Coalition. Due to the aggressive behavior of the despotic Ho'Nari Leaders and the Sardurii Council, the race was often expelled from the Coalition, only to return again later.
There is another civilization of arthropods, intelligent crustaceans, called the Ollusii or Ollus-Ektrai. Most interestingly, the planet Ollus-Ektrai is currently colonized by humans, and only ruins remain of the crustaceans' former glory. But the history of this race is far more interesting than these ancient ruins. In ancient times, the Ollussians attempted to conquer half the galaxy, but were defeated by the Elf-Urr Empire and driven beyond the Milky Way. They also made numerous attempts to regain power, but were always defeated. Most interestingly, around the 11th millennium BCE, the Ollussians were considered extinct. However, at the end of the 26th century, they reappeared. Their fleets were spotted within the M33 galaxy.
In the Ollus-Ektrai realm, power had long been vested in the Ollus-Rey Ruling Council, consisting of several hermaphrodites nearly 40 meters tall. The hive mind of these rulers influenced the rest of the race, as well as enslaved species. The threat posed by the Ollussians was so powerful that the Elf-Urr once attempted to exterminate the species and wipe it from the face of the universe. According to these crustaceans, all other living beings inhabiting the universe are unworthy of life and are subject to extermination. Certain races fell under the influence of the Ollus-Rey and became slaves.

Kinos

Species - mammals.
A race of intelligent, dog-headed creatures inhabiting the Kinos Dominion.
Government - democratic republic

The Kinos, or dog-headed creatures, are a race of intelligent mammals resembling terrestrial foxes, but walking upright. Their homeland is known to be another galaxy, most likely Andromeda. They arrived in the Milky Way only around the 20th millennium BC and settled in the Dominion region. There, they built their mighty empire. Many Kinos technologies are based on the science of the extinct Sovi'Lar race.
The Kinos Dominion has long been a member of the Coalition. The state is governed by a Supreme Ruler, elected by direct vote, and the Most Excellent Council of Tarabosts, which serves as a parliament.
The Kinos language and some cultural elements are somewhat similar to the Thracian of the Old Earth era. And dog-headed creatures were often mentioned in earthling mythology, which suggests the possibility of representatives of this species visiting the planet.

Void Conclave

A virtually unknown civilization threatening the Milky Way and all life in the universe.
Government: Unknown (likely an absolute monarchy)

One of the most terrifying threats in the universe. Mentioned only in myths and legends, each depicted differently. Basic information is classified by the governments of virtually all races represented in the Galactic Coalition.
It is known that the Void invaded the Milky Way approximately 15,000 BC and nearly wiped out entire civilizations. It is also believed that mysterious aliens attacked the galaxy as early as the 9th millennium BC.
The Void are mentioned not only in the chronicles of living races but also in the legends of extinct cultures.

Atzavitsotl species

Species - reptiles.
Government - variable

A race of intelligent reptiles from the ancient planet Atzavitsotl. Their culture is very similar to the Aztecs on Earth. It is believed that the ancient Native American civilizations of Mesoamerica may have borrowed their culture from the Unn-Chorr or Khaza-Ars, who landed on Earth.
The Unn-Chorr race is a tall, thin, long-necked humanoid race with gray or lilac skin. They are distinguished from the Khaza-Ars by their two pairs of arms and sedentary lifestyle. It is known that in ancient times, Atzavitsotl created an empire in the galactic east of the Milky Way, and even launched expansionist campaigns in M33. However, the empire was shattered by the threat of some "primordial evil" (likely the coming of the Void).

The Khaza-Ar were the ones who fled Atzavitsotl on city-ships. They later became a nomadic race and lost their ties with the Unn-Chorr. Their four-armed brethren survived and reassembled their empire like a mosaic, but not a trace remained of Atzavitsotl's former glory.
The Unn-Chorr settled on the planet Acheron Prime. For a time, they were part of the Coalition, but after the Acheron Schism, they broke away and waged a war that lasted three years. It ended with the siege of Acheron by the Coalition fleet and the burning of half the planet.
The Khaza-Ar, however, were more fortunate. Their clans began to cooperate with the Coalition, albeit on their own terms. Individual Khaza-Ar renegades attempted attacks and pirate raids, but they were generally restrained by their own kind. The Unn-Chorr Empire's form of government can be described as a theocratic dictatorship led by High Priests. The Khaza-Ar, on the other hand, have an elective monarchy with elements of democracy. Moreover, they have a special Rule of Duel, which results in the election of the Khazir'Kha-Gan (Great King).

Both of these races enjoy wearing heavy combat suits that conceal their faces and figures. Their level of technology is approximately 2,000 years superior to that of humans.

Adalines

Inhabitants of the planet Adaline Prime and the Adaline system.
A human race, part of Artandir and the Coalition.

The Adaline race has existed for at least 12,000 years. Their ancient empire, known as Adaline Civitas, once threatened the existence of the Artandir Empire and other intelligent civilizations in the Milky Way. After the Adaline dictatorship was destroyed, the planet and star system became part of Artandir. Since then, the Adaline have been an integral part of Artandir, and since the 23rd century, of the Galactic Coalition.
Today's Adaline have long forgotten their past and have become accustomed to living in harmony with the rest of the universe. The representatives of this species themselves are very unusual in appearance. They bear a complete resemblance to humans and are considered a human race. However, they do not have brunettes or even redheads. Their primary hair color is golden, for both men and women.
Adalins are renowned for their free spirit, love of jewelry, and poetry. Many of them are members of the Poetry Guild.

Lapi`Nars and they allies

Species - Humanoids, Mammals
Government - Constitutional Monarchy

The Lapi'nar Empire is located in the Lapi'nar sector of the galaxy, within the Hishutash Star System. They border the Elf-Urr Empire and the Kinos Dominion. The Lapi'nar themselves are lemur-like humanoids, but they have no aversion to other cultures. Thus, in their Empire, it is common to find humans or Elf-Urr, or even Kinos, among the leadership.
The Lapi'nar are incredibly lazy creatures. They prefer to utilize the science, technology, and knowledge of neighboring races. What they have in abundance is jewelry and gold. They readily pay commanders for fleet training, politicians, sages, and business instructors. There are no generals or admirals among the Lapi'nar. They prefer to recruit them from the Coalition. The Lapinar Empire's soldiers are rife with robots and replicants. Many of them were purchased from the Filgorn Corporation.
The Empire itself has long been a member of the Galactic Coalition. But the community prefers to ridicule the Lapinars rather than respect them. Most races consider these "fat lovers of food and feasts" incapable of anything but "endless carousing." And this is true. After all, the Lapinars are accustomed only to paying, "eating," and exploiting.
The empire is ruled by a great king, but formally, this is done by his advisers from the nearby Elf-urr holdings.

Gaznur

Species - Mammalian, humanoid
Government - Constitutional monarchy

The Ghaznur are a beautiful race, related to the Amphorans and Sfentirians. Their age is difficult to determine due to their lack of aging (in old age, they look like 40-year-olds). They inhabit the planets Ghaznur-Alpha, Gurgenj, Zalminti, Sarabu, and the Salibulu star system. They are descended from human ancestors, like the Artandir. Most interestingly, there is a hypothesis that Ghaznur-Alpha may be the ancestral home of the human race (and not Artandir Prime, as the Coalition Scientific Community believes).
In ancient times, Ghaznur created a large interstellar state known as the Blameless Nargon Empire. Around the 20th millennium BC, The state fell under the attacks of the Unsullied Empire, another proto-state ruled by races related to humans. After the fall of the Unsullied Empire, Ghaznur was reborn several times. In the 12th millennium BCE, it attempted to conquer the galaxy with the Eternity Fleet, but was stopped thanks to Nicomedia and the intervention of Elf-Urr.
Over time, planets previously subservient to the Ghaznur passed to various interstellar powers. Eventually, Ghaznur-Alpha and Gurgenj became part of Artandir, although they retained their governments, led by the Amirs and the Hyakim Council.
It is known that the Ghaznur somehow acquired technology from the Sovi'lar race and used it for their own purposes during their independence. During the Coalition era, representatives of this race began working directly with the xenotechnology of extinct civilizations. The language of the Gaznur people is unique - moreover, it has some similarities with the terrestrial Turkut language.

Tuata da Lenghir

Species - mammals, humanoid
Government - constitutional monarchy
Inhabitants of the Lenghir Sector

The Lenghirans are another race related to humans. Like the Adalins, they have no brunettes. Their representatives are mostly tall and strong creatures with red and blond hair. It is known that they have never discriminated based on gender. Both men and women have interacted equally for centuries. In some Lenghir communities, matriarchy and polyandry existed. The language of this race is very similar to Celtic (specifically, Old Irish).
At one time, the Artandir Empire attempted to subjugate Lenghir by force, but was repeatedly rebuffed. Eventually, the races agreed to respect each other and cease all military conflicts, and later formed an alliance with Artandir. With the emergence of the Coalition, Tynwald of Lenghir and the Great Ri (king) decided to enter into a Union State Pact with Artandir. Thus, Lenghir de facto became part of Artandir and an integral part of the Galactic Coalition.
Lenghir possesses unique technologies, likely derived from the extinct Griffin race (griffin-like bird-like creatures who likely ruled those regions, as well as the Griffin system, around 30,000 BCE).
The religion of this civilization is very similar to ancient Celtic. There are special Temple Worlds where members of the race hold outdoor prayer services among giant stone circles.

The Multiple Races and Cultures of the Milky Way and Neighboring Galaxies

There are many other races and cultures that I'd prefer to mention briefly. For example, the N-Sai Solidarity. The N-Sai are short, gray-skinned humanoids who formed an Alliance of several kingdoms. Their government could be described as a Collective Monarchy. The N-Sai were frequently expelled from the Coalition and then returned to its fold. They had alliances with Unn-Chorr and the Kossatti Empire. There are also other states, such as the Illysian Union (the Il-Lis race, amphibians with squid heads), the Ga-Tt Collective (intelligent bellemnites and mollusks who live underwater but have developed space travel technology), the Gul-Khan Empire (controlled by a race of pale-skinned humanoids with sharp incisors, known in the Coalition as ghouls), the La-Faye Coven (created by tiny creatures resembling Welsh mythical pixies), the Hekatonian Dominion, the Sozi Hegemony, and many others.
Also there are mysterious carnivores as Kidarites, menacing Azarmerdohts (star eaters) and other creatures.

In my setting, there are at least a hundred intelligent civilizations with space travel technology. There are also many hundreds more savage races living within their homeworlds.
