Incidentally that number is actually 1000000000000000.

thats funny, from here it looks .000000001 less

But the .999999999999... goes on infinitely, meaning that there is actually no difference. With smaller numbers:

x = 0.99999999999...
10x = 9.999999999999...
9x = 9
so x = 1

therefore 0.9999999999... = 1
