My point is that, while the SNP obviously don't have enough seats to vote down legislation, what they can do is add a heck of a lot of depth and value to debate. If they can argue compelling and constructively against the right hand side of the Tories, they could significantly sway the more centre-ist members, against the whips. But that will only work if they don't alienate non-scotts MPs at Westminster by focusing on devolution to much. We need the union to moderate the right...

To be honest, I kinda like the SNP. As long as they are willing to accept the result of the referendum and work within the UK, they could be a fabulous counter to the Conservative agenda. I mean, setting aside the threat to the union, which has played a crucial role in balancing the right wing over the last 100 years, their policies are pretty decent...

Voting in both Ithilien and Gorgoroth & Dol Amroth and the Coast has now finished, but a significant part of my Gondorian constituents (10-15%), many of whom are ex-service men wish it to be know that they find the entire idea of voting for rulership farcical.
Rule comes not from a mandate from the masses but divine judgement made clear through military victory. They favour a return to the Stewardship as the natural successor to the hereditary kingship of Numenor, and will fight to make it so.

unfortunately, without an elected government, this popular opposition has nothing to oppose... They are therefore going round beating up Orcs, Ubarians and Haradrim as the natural fallback.

What will the new government do to relieve these social tensions?

Evidence that there is a more widespread problem than certain commentators would like to admit? Almost certainly.
But it should be noted that if one sets aside a recent influx of up and coming middle classes, much of Baltimore looks A LOT like Ferguson...

Is it me, or does that only account for 90% of the population - should there be a 10% other, or should a 15% be a 25% or something?

Quick question: I know orcs are enfranchised, but what about women? And serfs? And what is the minimum voting age?
Given that this whole democracy thing is a new idea, I assume low levels of voter apathy, but I need to work out my constituency demographics.
