Installation:

Extract the "IMQ_MOD_PATCH_1.RAR" archive then place the content of the "imq" folder where you have installed the mod (bi/imq folder). When asked, overwrite the existing files.

The Iazyges, Marcomanni and Quadi Mod - a mod for Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion

Hello, some of you may know that in Barbarian Invasion there are some "cut factions". Two of these are well known, The White Huns and Moors, but among the files I found references of another three: The Iazyges, The Marcomanni and The Quadi. Only a few files about these factions can be found in Barbarian Invasion, such as battle banners, captain banners and symbols in the interface. Unfortunately no unit skins or unit cards were left so I do not know what units they had and what was their role in the game; it is possible that they were cut during the early stages of development.

So, in this mod I have replaced the Burgundii, Langobards and Roxolani with these factions, assigned them some units and placed them in the campaign map.

Features:

- The mod is mod-foldered. This means that the files of the original games are not modified as the mod has its own folder.
- Replaced the Burgundii, Langobards and Roxolani with Iazyges, Marcommanni and Quadi. Fully playable in campaign and custom battles mode.
- Alemanni, Celts and Saxons can become an horde.
- Reworked some barbarian horde units.
- Changed/fixed some unit icons.
- New model for the Kerns. (actually an unused model found in the vanilla game)
- Added an "all factions" provincial campaign where the player can also play as the Romano-British, Slavs and Ostrogoths.
- Fixed various bugs thanks to player1 and Borsook BUG-FIXER.

Installation Instructions:

CD version:

1) Extract the archive and place the "imq" folder inside the "bi" folder.
2) Right-click the RomeTW-BI.exe and create a shortcut on the desktop; then right click on the new shortcut and select "properties", in the "target" field add this at the end: " -mod:bi/imq -show_err" (without the quotes).

Here's a path for example: "C:\Games\Activision\Rome Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:bi/imq -show_err

To start the mod, double click on the new shortcut

Steam Version:

1) Extract the archive and place the "imq" folder inside the "bi" folder.
2) In your Steam Library righ-click on Rome Total War Gold, click on properties then on "Set Launch Options" and paste this string: "-mod:bi/imq -show_err" (without the quotes)
3) Then start the game and select "Launch Barbarian Invasion". Remember that if you want to run the vanilla game, you will have to delete the string you pasted in the Launch Options.

Interesting mod idea! From the last picture, with the green Parthia, i guess an Alexander Extended 

Hi Jubal, i'm happy to see that you are still working on this mod About the Giants Decision, i think it's better to have them as an "elephant" unit; this makes them unique; another option is to set their weakest units as infantry units. That's my opinion, good modding!

Jubal, are you considering adding the Summer Islands and Skagos? I'm trying to add some new units, when i will have some of them ready i will post screens (using models borrowed from other mods, maybe)

Hi, i have noticed the following bugs/little errors:

1) The Night's Watch Lord Commander is called Joer Mormont (it should be Jeor)

2) I think that the landbridge at The Wall is the cause of a crash i have experienced; i will describe it here:
Playing as the Dothraki, it's the year 298 AC, after i press the end turn button the factions do their moves; during the night's watch turn there is an army, a family member, that has a fight with a rebel army on the landbridge at The Wall, the NW lose the battle and retreat into castle black, and then CTD (maybe the bridge is the cause?). I have posted the save as an attachment.

3) When using the no fog cheat i noticed that there are two jon snow family members and both are marked as faction heir (i think that this could be a visual bug since they are always in the same army)

Hello to the exilian forum and its members! I'm a total war player; my very first tw game was Rome TW and i have discovered this forum thanks to mods for the game. The first mods i have played were Corsair Invasion for BI and Warhammer TW for RTW

Congratulations for the release! may i suggest you to open a thread for bug reports?
