Images now fixed: it turns out that the BBCode img tag can only cope with http: URLS, not https: which many sites are now using. When pasting a URL in, please check which it is and edit as necessary.

Are the two exclusive G? (URL, http) I've been under the impression most urls were http :/

I also still can't see them, and I'm pretty sure that I've used https in the IMG tag before. Odd.

Clockwork: there are two main forms of web protocol, http (hyper-text transfer protocol) and https (http secure) - the latter is now at least as normal, especially on larger websites like Facebook as it offers more security in the connection. (There are incidentally other protocols, like Gopher, but nobody really uses them now).

@G, Jub- I actually misread what G said. For some reason I read that it can't be a url and http... But yeah I know at least a bit about protocols and the layers and all that. I started an IT course but it really wasn't my thing at all so I quit after a term.

I really want to get round to setting up a Gopher client on this machine - the Gophernet still exists, it's just tiny and a bit weird.

(Incidentally if Gopher had caught on, Blogging would be Phlogging - Gopherlog rather than weblog).
