If you've found something wrong with The Exile Princes, here's where you can tell me about it!

Changelog for next release:
  • Bugfix for a typo in some checks on character traits, specifically failing to register "No" decisions on liberty/authority choices where Nay was the pro-liberty option.

Released Patches Notes

Patch 1 Changes
  • Fixed bug where if you quit a game while injured then started a new game, your new character could inherit the bleedout effect.
  • Fixed bug where kind characters' objections to leaving woodcutters to their fate would cause an error.
  • Spelling error when petting a dog or kinklade now fixed.
  • Fixed rare bug where cities with names of under five characters would fail to have elections resolved properly because I was searching for an index in the city name rather than the city data.
  • Fixed bug where characters with underscores in their names wouldn't load saves properly by banning underscores from character names in future.
  • Fixed bugs where pets and dragons could get involved in normal campfire conversations and NPC romances.
  • Fixed bug where the info readout for a city army's unit showed you results for the equivalently numbered unit in your own army.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Not sure where to post this, so I'll just put it in here...

- Is it normal that resting at a tavern sometimes does nothing in terms of healing? If so, why?
- Also after a battle, I sometimes get no money at all? Also normal?
- When tasked with slaying a certain amount of wibulnibs/whatever, how does the counting work? It often says "You have slain 0 so far" despite me doing nothing but fighting those weirdos. (I get that they're not counted when they flee, but them fleeing was not always the case.)
- One small bug I encountered (once, so far): I was in a city buying drinks in the tavern etc. and then left, being in the landscape near the city, pressing x to search the area - and the same dialogue for buying drinks popped up.

Tar-Palantir

-When looking at the garrison in a city I own, if I click on the Info button, it gives me info on the first unit in my army (as distinct from the city garrison), rather than the currently selected garrison unit.
Definitely not Ar-PharazĂ´n.

  • Tavern stays do variable levels of healing from 0-2 hit points, depending on a number of factors + some randomness. Taverns of higher quality heal better but cost more (and are generally found in wealthier city areas).
  • You should only get no money if there were no kills, or if the enemy's loot value was low to nil. I don't think any normal enemies have zero loot value.
  • Wibulnibs should be counted any time you wipe at least one unit of them in a battle, so if they didn't flee, got defeated, and weren't counted, that's a bug Ive not seen: if that happens again please send me the game's log for the battle etc.
  • Oou, what tile type were you searching in when you got the drink-buying dialogue, can you remember? Farmland, plains, or forest?

Good catch, I'll try and add that to my list of things to fix!

Thanks! I'll keep my eyes open re: wibulnibs. Maybe I just missed something. (How do I get a game log? :-[ )

The tile was a plain one, I think. I just made two or three steps outside of the city, then started searching.

Jubal

By the log I just mean the main text at the bottom of the screen that usually tells you what's going on :)

Okay, thanks! That shouldn't be a problem. :) (I'm terribly un-knowledgeable in Game Things, sorry, lol.)

How am I supposed to slay 6 groups of quarquares when they always flee and aren't counted? Argh. Is it just my bad luck? Or a bug?  ???

Quickly! You need to hit them hard before they run, which means you need a high attack unit in the attack slot to maximise damage - crossbowmen, archers, hired archers, charging outriders, or halberdiers are ideal choices.

Aaah I see. Thank you for the hint, I'll try that :)

Patch 1 now released :) The patch is entirely bugfixes, it should fix some major crashes and some weird bits of pets chatting to the party (or doing more questionable things with them in some cases!)

This patch should be fully savegame compatible.

Oh thank heavens, I had a companion get a bit too friendly with the dog.  :-[

Something I struggle with lately is the fact you can't go into a city the normal way once you have declared war on it? I mean, it makes sense of course, but when you are, like me, constantly in urgent need of money and there would be some pilgrims to escort into exactly that city, you grow a bit desperate... I haven't managed to win a city yet because I either haven't enough money to pay supporters in an election, or fail to conquer it because my army is miserable, lol. (Money! I need money!)

The Seamstress

I got the patch... but the dog is still getting attention he shouldn't get...  ???

You cannot view this attachment.

Jubal

Is it the same save from before the patch? It probably won't fix existing dogs, only new ones.

If you email me a copy of the save (to exileprinces@gmail.com) I should be able to fix your current dog retroactively :)

Uh... I think so? How do I get a copy of the save? I'm sorry to be so annoying not knowing stuff but you're talking to the Click-On-Random-Things-And-Hope-For-The-Best person here XD
