No problem, i think im going to go with heavy inf ;)

LegioCaesar

Heavy inf kills cav and their armor blocks many incoming HA arrows. :P

Son of the King

Normally I would have said Heavy Infantry or Archers. But I put Hoplites. In my campaign as Macedon, my pike phalanxes have destroyed anything they have been faced with, and my militia hoplites have killed even Spartans when defending city gates. Even the Egyptian chariots haven't put up a fight.

Andalus

I'm going for missile cavalry, specifically horse archers. There is no joy that transcends winning multitudes of heroic victories with not a cratch on your good self.
Du bist kein Schmetterling! Du bist nur eine kleine Raupe in Verkleidung!

SubRosa

I have to go with the missile cavalry here too. Whether it is plain old Militia Cavalry, entry level Horse Archers, or the top of the heap - Heavy Horse Archers, these guys and girls are awesome monster-bashers. It is so much fun to take on armies 4-5 times the size of your own and utterly destroy them with these units.

Private Clark

You have to know how to use them though. Otherwise they could be a hindrance.

Andalus

I think it is fair to assume that SubRosa does...

I find using a missile cavalry heavy force to be like using a chisel to tunnel through a mountain, slow fine work that can go wrong very suddenly.

I guess you cant go for a full on best, using a force of one kind of unit has allot of weaknesses, I think a good army is:

20% heavy cavalry
10% missile cavalry
10% light cavalry
15% heavy infantry
10% light infantry
10% spearmen
15% missile infantry
10% siege equipment/specialist

but it is all depending on the job at hand

My dream army is:

25% Heavy Cavalry
25% Missile Infantry (preferably archers)
50% Heavy Infantry/Hoplites

Private Clark

I like that army but id want some light infantry and shock troops ready to flank while my Heavy spearmen hold the line.
