Marcus

Well done you. Funny, I alway see Independence Day as something small ex colonial countries like South Africa celebrate. America seem a bit too old for that now. :P

I still get excited on July 4th; its the one holiday we can truly call our own.  :knight: Too many "Americans" have forgotten where we came from, and it sickens me.  :'(

Marcus

I guess we could celebrate Independence from the Romans day, except that we got invaded by Saxons the next day.

comrade_general

You should celebrate an Assimilation Day or something.  ;)

Marcus

The thing is, excluding 1066, we never lost independence in the first place, we weren't annexed to anyone, we just sat there on a soggy little island shouting "Come and have a go if you think yer 'ard enough!"
"So if you meet me, have some courtesy, have some sympathy, and some taste. Use all your well learned politesse, or I'll lay your soul to waste."

comrade_general

Yeah, and that's why I say "assimilation" because you have assimilated other cultures over the years until you became who you are today. ;)

Marcus

Ah, I thought you were saying we were assimilated. My bad. So watch out America! Try to invade us and you'll spend your days sipping tea on the lawn and playing croquet! Be afraid, be very afraid...

Somebody kissed you in the ear ?  xD

Colonel_Ryan

More like someone zizzled around with a bell and stucked it in his ear. Poor s.o.b.
