Lol i just had to make a warhammer 40k thread.

feel free to post.

To finish the sentence started by the thread title: is for 5 year olds.

Is it a bit sad that my 6 year old brother has actually grown out of 40k already. IMHO, it is a game for those who simply like to toss handfuls of dice around. Fun for about 15 minutes, but with no real strategy or tactical ability. Not that its a bad thing. Please do not take this as me bagging on you for liking 40k, it is simply my opinion.

Cheers,

Lol i don't actually play the game i just enjoy painting models.

My favorite fantasy models are Skaven :P.

(i plan on posting some pics of my army)

The 'verse is awful, it's like ZOMGLOLZORSLETZMAKEITALLDARKANDDOOMFULANDTHENSOMELOLZORZW00TARENTWEL33T.

Some of the models are good, I do love the Tau by way of an excellent concept with good fluff and detailed additional races. But the Orks, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Necrontyr, Humans, etc just... well, firstly, a totally humanoid galaxy doesn't work for me (OK, Tyranids, so make that MOSTLY humanoid, but nevertheless most of the playables are really boringly terrestrial). So yeah, with some radical alterations I wouldn't mind it but currently the ideas fall a bit flat. I mean, there aren't even many rules for the different physics on different worlds which I'd make a priority for designing a galaxy-wide strategy game.
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

I do agree with what you say about the almost completely humanoid galaxy, you don't really get that when its Warhammer fantasy( as its all on a single planet i presume, and possibly mixed in with the chaos realms?). However i really think its just a perspective thing, like to me some parts of Warhammer 40k are just way more appealing to me than some parts of fantasy.

e.g. In fantasy, chaos are a very sort of cliche race in which i mean they look like the typical daemonic warriors whereas in 40k they are a quiet different and ,i think, stranger alternative for an evil race.

As for the rules and strategies i really wouldn't have a clue because i have never played the board game. (sadly i don't have a large enough army yet).

Jubal

I wouldn't say the two were much different. The Daemons look practically the same, the Chaos Marines are just Chaos Warriors up-armoured and given guns...

Once you realize what a joke everything is, being the Comedian is the only thing that makes sense.

That's the funniest concept, I think SW Belle worked best artistically.
