Oh I had a discussion about this with a couple of my Physics lecturers, its amazing if it is true, and completely breaks the foundations of modern physics. One theory we came up with is that photons do infact have a super small mass, but nutrinos don't (or do have one smaller than that of a photon). It would make sense as an electron DEFINITELY gains mass when its accelerated but the nutrino didnt.
