I've been playing this way too much recently - it's a roguelike for android (I use my tablet for it). Finally got a couple of completions under my belt, after a *lot* of attempts.

There are quite a few things I like about the game - in particular there's a good range of different scrolls and potions etc that interact in different ways, which give you quite a varied range of options for dealing with combat as something of a puzzle. Also, it has lots of dwarves (though they're all either undead or have gone insane under the corrupting influence of an Elder God, which is something of a pity). The monsters vary very nicely too, so the "puzzle" of how to beat them changes at about the right frequency.

The game's wiki is here: http://pixeldungeon.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

And now I really want to go back to making Adventures of Soros, but I don't have time or indeed players so I probably shouldn't :/
