Scening for beginners:

First how to be able to go to edit mode.

1. Double click on the Mount&Blade icon.
2. Press Configure
3. Go to 'Game'
4. Check 'Enable Cheats'
5. Go to 'Advanced'
6. Check 'Enable Edit Mode (be warned, this slows down the game)'

That's it, now start up Mount&Blade by pressing 'Play'.

1. Load an excisting character or create a new one. If the CHEAT! option is available, it's recommended.
2. When you're on the world map, go to a village, town or castle.
3. When you're there press 'Go to Village Center', 'Take a walk in the courtyard' or when CHEAT! was enabled you can choose 'CHEAT: Castle Exterior' and stuff like that.
4. When you entered a scene that you want to edit, first remember what scene it was, write it down or something (which settlement and which menu option)
5. Now press 'Alt+Enter' to go windowed mode if you were full screen.
6. Now press 'Ctrl+E' to go to edit mode. A Menu should pop up, and the camera should move freely with A,S,D,W.

Now how to edit scenes, the basic controls.

1. For the controls you can press the 'Help' button
W, A, S, D for moving the camera
Mouse2 for selecting objects on the scene. Hold 'ctrl' to select multiple objects. (Right mouse button)
Mouse1 for selecting objects in the menu and rotating the camera when hold down.
'B' for scaling selected objects.
'B+X' for scaling selected objects over the X-axis (usually length or width).
'B+Y' for scaling selected objects over the Y-axis (usually length or width).
'B+Z for scaling selected objects over the Z-axis (usually height).
Delele for deleting selected objects.
'X' for rotating the selected object over the X-axis
'Y' for rotating the selected object over the Y-axis
'Z' for rotating the selected object over the Z-axis

I probally forgot something, just woke up, but check 'Help' to get a full list and some instructions.

2. Placing an object.
-Select what typ of object you want to place. (Standard it's on Scene Props, you can choose Plants, Items or Entry points.
-Select the object you want to place in the list in the bottom of the grey window. (for example 'spike_a' or 'fake_house_a')
-Press 'Add new object'.
-Click in the scene where you want the object, to place press 'Mouse2 (right mouse button)'
-You can place as many as you like, you can scale them too before placing them, all placed objects will get this scale.
-When you're done, uncheck 'Add new object'. The last placed object is selected.

3. Experiment with this, try making a village or town scene.
