This is where I post updates from the talented freelance artists and designers who are helping me to bring the project to life. I will start with the God portraits, done by the talented Tadas Sidlauskas https://tadas0.carbonmade.com/. These are the playable characters in the game, and are not yet finished.

Progress so far on the Zeus portrait. We started here, with a choice of four styles, and have used that as a guide to creating the other gods.

Nice! Poseidon is the only one who looks a bit "off" to me - the brown hair and pallid skin make him look a bit zombie-jesus, and I'd have guessed Hades over Poseidon from the looks. I've always imagined him either with black, grey or white hair... Zeus I think is the best of the bunch, Artemis and Ares look very good too :)
The duke, the wanderer, the philosopher, the mariner, the warrior, the strategist, the storyteller, the wizard, the wayfarer...

Really? I kind of thought Poseidon's hair looked strandy and wet, as if he'd just walked out of the ocean... And his skin looks pale and sunken in as it would if left in water for too long, so I thought that fit well... Interestingly enough I would have placed Hades as the one having the black hair... Hm, peculiar... :)

I guess it's partly that Poseidon comes across as a pretty "angry" style of sea god rather than a "bedraggled" kind - I expect him to be flailing about whipping up storms and sinking ships, and thus to look more lively, whereas Hades is more like the quiet one of the trio.

Hm, yes, that's one way to look at it...

Thanks both - the Poseidon artwork has caused confusion several times, but I was going for the "living in the sea has not been very good for my health" look. When I (eventually) come to Hades, I'm planning to make him look the youngest, most likeable, yet saddest of the trio. As in, didn't deserve to get stuck alone in the Underworld after overthrowing the Titans.

I think the "living underwater is unhealthy" - look got across quite well and really works well for the character... It might not be the traditional approach to him, but I think that just makes it all the more intriguing...

I can really see the Hades attributes you mentioned and I totally agree with them. He is after all the youngest of the three brothers, so it makes sense he should look the youngest and I can't imagine it being fun to only have dead people for company nine months a year... Also given the level of awfulness his brothers operate at, I'm all in favour of him being the most likeable of the bunch - and that's the guy who kidnapped the underage goddess of spring... That ought to tell you a lot - A LOT - about the competition... -.-
