so far we dont have a topic for magic so i decided i'd start this one
1st of all ill make a suggestion for how magic works.

Basicly you have a Energy bar and you type to cast spells when you type the spell you get a single use spell item {using the item picking up script so you dont keep the item for ever} and it decreases the Energy bar {or energy points} and if you cast a spell when you have no energy you lose health instead. upping your strength increases your energy limit and you can only use a spell if you have been trained in the use of it. each spell uses a different amount of energy and some will obviously kill you if you dont have enough strength/energy/health. Hopfully this helps and will work.
edit:Some vilages/towns/castles will have spellcasters that will teach you these spells.
if you become a rider you will be trained in the use of more powerful spells, if you are an elf you will be trained in the use of magic at the start. urgals cannot/willnot be able to use magic
 :D  :)  :D

Are we gonna have the lore book. If so then when you read the books that teach spells they could be recorded in the lorebook so then you can sell the spellbook.

Hey, maybe we can think this for the second version. I think what we have now, is enough for now.

Urgals had magicians.  But I don't think we're allowing you to play an urgal

Why not  :'(

Oh with my idea ai could be given magic with more than 1 use
no stealing magic from npcs though.
Or at the beggining of the battle ai could be given a.... say.. 10 or 20 uses spell, or 2
using the item pickup script  :)
Lorebooks sound cool :)

Hey, why shouldn't we have urgals, at least in the later releases?

we do have urgals, he means the possibility for the player to play as urgal...

my magic is actually fine, but the only problem is, that the AI, which is not in the players team kill themselves :(

i dont seem able to solve it...

That's annoying. Maybe eliminate spells from enemies for until we figure this out.

I suggest you ask the people from the mod- "The Wheel of Time". They have an awesome magic system, which works similar to ours.
